What would have happened if Machia got to Tomura just a LITTLE bit faster? If Toga didn't run off, and Dabi put in even more effort? Because he was desperate to see his boyfriend... not just expose his father.
It results in getting to Tomura before Endeavor would have burnt him. Giving him and Dabi the perfect amount of time to catch up.
Dabi believes in Tomura, and trusts him with his life. He knows his boss will lead them to victory. But Tomura is a little more wary, and doubtful. He doesn't want to lose the love of his life, and have regrets.
Therefore, despite there being a literal war raging around them... Tomura believes it's the perfect time for a wedding.
