Summary
Angel and Husks' second attempt at babysitting little Aurora went slightly better than the last time. That is to say, it could be considered at least a mitigated disaster rather than an unmitigated one.
“C’mon, Rors, work with me here!” Angel pleaded with the wailing infant in his arms. Rory had been crying for a solid hour and a half non-stop. They had tried everything to calm her. They fed her and checked her diaper, Husk even took Vaggie’s advice of using his wings to play peek-a-boo. That only made her cry harder, wounding the old sinner’s pride a little.
Angel was now pacing across the lobby of the hotel, bouncing Rory in his upper arms. He even recruited the aid of Wiggles but even the power of plush piggies failed to calm the wailing child. “Look, I know ya miss ya Moms but they just need a little time to themselves to do grown-up things. They’ll be back soon, I promise.”
