Chapter Text

The ship is going to crash. The Tulpar is going to crash. Her walls creak in protest, the warning lights flash with an angry red and a loud repeating beeping. Curly runs through the halls, Daisuke's screams are drowned out by the warning system. He runs so fast that every turn he makes results in him crashing into the walls, but he keeps going. Each step carrying him closer to the cock pit. His heartbeat quickens in his ears. Oh God, oh God. He thinks.

When he stepped on board, no, when he saw his crew for the first time, no, when he was born, he took an oath to keep the ship and, more importantly, everyone on bored, safe. And he broke that oath when he joined in a card game. He told Jimmy to keep watch while he was at the back of the ship playing a game of cribbage with the other crew members. Oh God, was Jimmy okay? Would any of them be okay? His boots pound against the steel floor of the hallways- had they always been this long?- he rounds another corrner. The door to the cock pit is open, and Jimmy is sitting right outside it, curled into a ball, his hands on his head, he's shaking and hyperventilating.

"Jimmy! What's going on? What did you do? Oh God-"

Jimmy doesn't resond.

Curly runs into the cock pit. He gets to the seat. He grabs the wheel. Steer right to avode collision! The flashing sign in front of him says. He turns the wheel. His eyes turn breafly to the console to the right side of him. The captains key is slotted in the Disengage Autopilot, and the button is pressed down. "why -"

He voice is cut of with the sound of steel buckling and breaking. The ship screams in horror. A flash of red and orange covers Curlys vision. The smell of melting metal and burning hair fills his nostrils. He cant hear anything besides the ships crying. His hands pull the wheel as far right as it'll go. It's not enough.

The Tulpar collides with an asteroid.

I hope this hurts.
