“Juliana, there you are!” Kieran yelled, sprinting to finally reunite with her. “I’ve been lookin’ for you everywhere! Where were you?”
Juliana said nothing.
“Julie?” Kieran beckoned.
Juliana said nothing.
Kieran squinted, getting a better look at her after catching his breath.
“Why are your eyes closed?” he asked, cocking an eyebrow.
That comment made Juliana’s eyes flick open in a split second. Kieran gasped in horror, backing away like a frightened early-route Pokémon.
Her eyes were pink.
“It wasn’t easy,” Juliana said, her voice not her own. A pink Pokémon floated above her shoulder. “This one’s quite the fighter.”
