After the villain died everyone was happy to finally have some peace. The city was quiet, sirens rang no more and everyone was happy,except for some reason, the hero wasn’t. During public appearances he had seemed… sad. The hero had very clearly not slept in a while, presumably not since the villain had passed. Soon the hero disappeared and search parties began looking mercilessly for the hero. But during one of these searches as they were sorting through the hero’s office they discovered a letter. This letter changed the way everyone looked at the hero they had come to love and the villain they had all come to despise. This letter stopped the searches. This letter changed everything.
My dearest hero,
I have missed you and longed for you in the past weeks. I miss the times you used to wrap me up in your wings and sing me to sleep. I miss all the times you would tell me I wasn’t a monster because if I was, you would be too. I miss the times we would lie side by side and cuddle together in the depths of the night. I miss the times before we had to take different paths and be put against each other. We’ve always wanted similar things sweetheart, you didn’t have to stay, I know you stayed for your sister but we could have saved her too. I wish I would have stopped you from staying, stopped you from getting hurt, stop you from dying inside a little bit everyday. But I understand why you stayed. The fire you would have been under would have been too much and I’m afraid you would have drowned. I’m sending you this letter because I fear I’m not long for this world. I’ve been fatally wounded and in my last moments I wanted to assure you: I’m dying happy. I’ve gotten all I ever wanted out of my life.I got happiness, I got chaos, I made friends but most importantly I got you. And though I wish I got you more I’m so happy you allowed me even a piece of you. By the time you read this I’ll most likely be dead but I just want you to know, I love you and I always have. You can have the courting gifts back, there are also ones that I never got to give you that I want you to have. There is a small chest in my old room in the tower. It has a few things inside, take them for me, please. That is my only wish.

Nobody is for certain what was in this chest bit, presumptions have been made. Many say there was a ring, others say a necklace made of the villains iridescent black and red feathers while very few believe that the chest was full of notes and letters. But one thing's for certain: the hero loves the villain too.
