Piltover's Undercity
Powder was with her sister, Violet, lying on top of the Last Drop watching the movement of the streets of the Undercity, everything was calm, it had been just a normal day like any other where she and her friends helped Vander at the bar and had fun on the streets of the undercity and when they finally got tired, Vi and Poder went up to the top of the building to observe the streets, they did this quite often, just a way to enjoy the company of their favorite person in silence.
That is, until Powder felt very happy, for no apparent reason and started laughing, she doesn't know where it came from, it just... It happened, she just felt an urge to laugh that she couldn't ignore and Vi looked at her confused.
"What are you laughing at, Powder?" She asked, confused, looking for something funny happening on the street.
"I don't know, I just felt happy and I felt like laughing, I don't know why." Powder said, confused and Vi, After thinking for a moment, smiled big looking at her little sister who was now adorably confused.
"i think I know what happened..." She said, sitting down and Powder followed her.
"What happened?" Asked the youngest.
"You finally have a bond with your soulmate, Pow! Congratulations!" Vi exclaimed excitedly and Powder blushed when she realized that this was true. "Try to feel where it comes from, close your eyes, take a deep breath and try to focus on the feeling that the bond will give you."
"A bond..." She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, trying to feel her bond but ended up making a face with what she felt. "How strange..."
"What's wrong?" Vi asked worriedly.
"It seems... I don't know, but it seems like it comes from two places, one comes... From up there!" Powder pointed to Piltover. "And the other one comes from there." She pointed to another place. "West... But it's not here, it seems to be far away."
"Wait, Two places?" Vi was speechless. "Woah! Pow-pow, you have two soulmates! That's rare, how cool!"
"T-two soulmates?" She asked blushing heavily and alternating her gaze between Piltover and the horizon to the West.
"Come on! Let's tell the others!" Vi stood up, pulling her sister and the two of them followed to the bottom of the Last Drop, where Vander, Mylo, Claggor and Ekko were. "Guys, it happened!"
"What happened?" Ekko asked confused, seeing Vi euphoric and Powder shy next to her sister.
"Powder managed to bond with her soulmates!" Vi said excitedly and Powder became shy when all the heads nearby, even some she didn't know, turned to her.
"Congratulations, Powder." Vander said smiling at the youngest.
"I can't believe that even she has already found a Soulmate and I haven't." Mylo said indignantly. "What the hell! Where does it come from?"
"Wait, did Vi say “Soulmates”? Like, in the plural?" Claggor asked arching his eyebrow.
"W-well, yes, apparently I have two soulmates" Powder scratched the back of his neck shyly.
"Are you kidding me!" Mylo crossed his arms indignantly, how could someone like Powder have two soulmates and he, older and cooler than her, still didn't have any?
"From... Where do you feel them?" Ekko, who had gone silent upon receiving the news, asked quietly. Everyone, even Powder, knew why. The boy liked Powder (He really didn't hide it very well) and had hopes of being her soulmate, but that was clearly not the case.
"One comes from Piltover." She said, and Mylo snorted.
"As if it wasn't enough that Vi has a Piltie soulmate, Powder so has one. They're meant for rich kids, huh?" Mylo said, snorting, and Vi rolled her eyes at the boy's words.
"Shut up, Mylo." She said, irritated, and waited for her sister to continue.
"And the other one seems to be somewhere to the West." Powder said, closing her eyes again, smiling as she felt both bonds. She felt euphoria, coming from the person in Piltover, and a little irritation, but also a lot of excitement, which came from the person to the West. "Oh, I think I can define who each emotion comes from!" She said excitedly.
"So I think the topic of the night will be Pow-pow and her soulmates." Vander said. "To celebrate our little one's bond, how about a free drink for everyone?" Vander asked loudly and everyone at the bar, most of whom were paying attention to the conversation, cheered excitedly.

Seraphine was at home with her parents, laughing at the stories they both told about their day at work, which was lively and full of emotions, when she felt a shiver and pure happiness run through her body, it was strange and she was confused, stopping laughing at the same moment and making a face.
"What happened, dear?" Her father asked confused by the little girl's face.
"Daddy... I think... I think I have a bond!" she said standing up excitedly.
"A bond?" Her mother who was sitting on the couch arched her eyebrow interested in the conversation.
"Well, I felt something strange and I felt a happiness that didn't seem like mine, you know? It's strange, but... It's good." The pink haired girl said feeling excited, she finally had a soulmate!
"How amazing, dear." Her mother smiled. "Can you tell us where your soulmate is? Close your eyes and try to feel the bond, focus on the good feeling you felt, on the emotions that are not yours."
"Hmmm..." Seraphine closed her eyes and did as her mother said. "Wait... There's something strange." She frowned. "There are... Two of them?"
"Two?" Seraphine's father asked in surprise.
"Honey, are you telling us that you have two soulmates?" Her mother also asked in surprise, after all this was not something you saw every day.
"Y-yes, one is not that far away, it seems to come from... Undercity and the other is far away, over there." She pointed in the direction and her father frowned.
"Two soulmates, right?" Her father murmured seriously. "In the Undercity and somewhere far from here, I hope to be able to meet these two individuals, I will have a serious talk with them." He said in a dark voice and Seraphine laughed.
"Honey!" His wife gave him a weak slap on the arm.
"What?! My little princess has two halves! I need to be careful and protect my little girl from two unknown people now!" He said with a frown and the two girls laughed.
"Stop being so dramatic, Daddy!" Seraphine said laughing.
"But what if they want to kiss you?" Her father asked and Seraphine blushed. "I can't let them! I have to protect my little princess from these two." He said crossing his arms.
"But what if they're girls?" Seraphine asked and her father's expression softened
"Okay, girls aren't that bad, but I'll still keep an eye on them" He answered seriously again but soon opened a big smile. "What do you think of pizza to celebrate your bond, Sera?"
"Yes!" The little girl exclaimed euphorically, She can't wait to meet her other halves.

Lux was running around her room playing with Garen out of sight of her parents and aunt, otherwise they would both get scolded for running, so they were forced to play in hiding.
They were playing tag and Lux laughed as she dodged her brother, who she didn't know, but clearly let her. Garen could catch her whenever he wanted, he was much bigger, stronger and more agile than his sister, but then it wouldn't be fun and he preferred to let the little girl believe that she was really dodging him.
Until she felt a shiver run through her entire body and became even more excited but calm at the same time, but in some strange way she felt that it wasn't her who was feeling it, but other people and that made her stop running.
"Is there a problem, Lux?" Her brother asked worriedly when he noticed that the girl was paralyzed.
"Gah... I... I think I have a soulmate!" She said, jumping up and down, and her brother raised his eyebrow.
“Really?” He asked, interested. “Are they close?”
“I don’t know,” She pouted.
“Close your eyes and try to feel the direction the bond is pointing, Lux.” Garen said, and Luxanna nodded, doing what her brother said.
“Hmm, They are far away,” She said, discouraged. “It looks like They're heading East... Wait,” she grimaced. “Gah... Is it possible to have more than one soulmate?”
“Yes, it’s a very rare thing, but it happens,” Garen said, surprised by the question “Why do you ask?”
“It’s just that I think I have two soulmates...” She opened her blue eyes, and her brother looked at her in disbelief.
“Wait, really?” Garen asked in disbelief, and his sister nodded. “Wow, how unexpected,” he said, impressed. “Do you want to tell Mom and Dad?” he asked.
“Yes, yes! Come on, come on!” She pulled her brother to the hall of the Crownguard palace where her parents and aunt were talking "Dad, Mom, Auntie Tia!" She ran to the adults and let go of her brother's hand.
"Honey, don't run" Her mother warned and Lux pouted.
"But I'm so excited!" She said jumping up and down.
"With what, Luxanna?" Her aunt asked.
"I have a bond!" Lux said and her parents and aunt became more interested. "Two actually! They're to the east, can I go see them?"
"Two?" Tianna asked in surprise. "You have two soulmates?"
"Yes!" Lux exclaimed "Can we go get them, Auntie, Mom, Dad? Pleeease" She dragged her voice, making her best puppy dog eyes, trying to convince the adults.
"Not yet, Lux, I'm sure these two will be amazing for you and I understand that you're anxious, but I'd rather wait for you to grow up a little" Her father said.
"Yes, You're still a little young, Sweetie" Her mother said and Lux sulked.
"But I want to see them!" Lux huffed and pouted in frustration.
"Your two patners can wait a little Lux, You're not old enough for that yet, focus on getting stronger to protect them and Demacia and in a few years you and they will be grown up and they will also be able to take care of you when they meet, but for now it's not appropriate yet." Her Aunt said.
"But what if they get in danger? I won't be able to protect them being so far away!" Lux said sullenly.
"Trust your soulmates, Lux, I'm sure they'll be strong and can protect themselves and you" Her aunt said calmly.
"But Aunt-" Lux tried to continue but was silenced by a stern look from Tianna.
"I understand your concern, I really do, but you're not going to them now, only when you're older, are we clear?" Tianna asked with a hard look that, surprisingly, didn't intimidate the smaller blonde who stared at her clearly irritated.
"Anyway..." Garen began after a certain tension set in with Luxanna challenging her aunt's authority. "Is it time for dinner yet? I'm hungry." He tried to change the subject before Lux spoke again and her parents got the hint.
"I think they're already setting the table, do you want to go there soon?" His father asked without waiting for an answer and already walking to the dining room
"Okay." Lux said a little irritated but still happy and excited about the fact that she had a bond with two people
If she really has no choice but to meet her halves now then at least she will be strong enough to protect them when the day they finally meet comes.

Piltover Top Side
(During Arcane EP 3)
The room was almost completely dark, lit only by the moonlight coming through the window and Seraphine was trying to sleep but knew she wouldn't be able to while one of her soulmates was too energetic, her soulmate in the undercity was doing something dangerous, she was almost sure of it.
So without many options she just tried to pay attention to their bond to try to make assumptions about what was happening. She could hear some musics around her, musics from other people's souls, it was strange to be able to hear souls, It seemed like she was always invading everyone's privacy, after all, feelings transmitted by the soul should be something reserved for soulmates, but for some reason she could hear it.
It was also a little inconvenient at times, always knowing what people were feeling when they spoke to her and since this includes bad feelings she always knows when the kids of Piltover are judging her because her parents are from Undercity and that means she has no friends after all it is difficult to ignore the hostile songs directed at her and her family
She was taken out of her thoughts when somewhat muffled by the walls of her room and the sounds of souls and also a little far away she heard the sound of an explosion. Her suspicions of her soulmate's involvement in whatever caused the explosion were confirmed seconds later when she suddenly felt a horrible pain in her back, she closed her eyes due to the sudden pain and tried not to scream in pain, what the hell did they do now?
Seraphine knew that life in the Undercity was dangerous, her parents were born there and told her some stories, but her soulmate was apparently a fan of dangerous situations because they were always involved in one if the pains Seraphine felt throughout her body and the adrenaline constantly running through her veins were any indication.
Seraphine took a deep breath trying to calm herself and her third partner and then assessed the damage she felt on her body. In addition to her back, her elbow was burning like hell and her head hurt a little too. These three were the main ones, but overall her whole body hurt, in addition to the adrenaline that took over her.
It was even more adrenaline than she had received a few days before. She suspected that her soulmate was one of the residents of the undercity who were fleeing from the enforcers after the robbery that occurred in the apartment of one of the students at the Piltover's Academy. All the pure adrenaline along with the fear she felt that day occurred at the same time as the robbery. It was easy to connect the dots.
And now she felt pain throughout practically her entire body, especially her back and elbow, she felt a bigger wave of concern coming from the person who was further away from them and tried to calm her down again, she just tried, because she was so worried then it didn't have much effect.
That's when fear, no, terror hit her, what was happening? Her Soulmate in the Undercity was desolate, deeply saddened by something that Seraphine had no idea what it was. She felt a horrible pain in her cheek, it felt like it was on fire, she tried to hold it but couldn't and started crying and sobbing loudly both because of the pain and sadness she felt and because of the idea that what she was feeling was just a fraction of what her soulmate was feeling, which meant that they was suffering even more.
Seraphine cried and sobbed loud enough for her parents to hear from their room and go to hers to try to check.
"Sera!" Her father entered her room, running to her nanny and sitting next to her. "My little princess, what happened? Why are you crying?"
"My soulmate who is in undercity" Seraphine sobbed. "These are their emotions" The tears thickened and then a wave of anger passed through her body. "Dad, they are suffering, let me see if they are okay, please" She stood up but her mother held her back.
"Honey, please calm down." Her mother held her face. "We can't go to Undercity now, sit down and take a deep breath, my love." Seraphine did what her mother asked. Trying to focus on the music of her parents' souls that usually served to calm her when she was too overwhelmed. But it seemed like there was so much pain being transmitted through the bond that she couldn't even concentrate on her parents' songs.
"But... I'm close, I have to help them, please." She begged. "They need help, They feel abandoned, sad, angry and scared. I need to know what happened." She sniffed.
"I understand your desperation to help your soulmate, but we still can't go down to the undercity right now. It's very late and the situation with the enforcers there is critical, they are hunting whoever robbed that academy student's apartment and they are not kind daughter, sorry but we still can't go get them." Her father said stroking her head and she cringed feeling guilty for not going to her soulmate but there was still nothing she could do against what her parents were saying because they, unfortunately, were right.
The Enforcers weren't being kind to anyone in the Undercity now and the Undercity residents weren't being kind to their so-called “friends across the river” either. And her parents were seen as traitors in the Undercity for moving to Top Side then going there now would put both her and her parents at risk, she would have to settle for just trying to comfort her soulmates through the bond and pray that it somehow works.

Demacia
Lux was curled up in her bed, under her blankets, she felt the pain of one of her soulmates, more than just pain, she felt a huge confusion of feelings.
Fear, anger, anxiety, pain in several parts of her body and a lot, a lot of sadness. In addition to the feeling of abandonment and endless disappointment, the left side of her cheek felt like it was on fire, her nose hurt too, her back hurt like hell and her elbow was burning, everything in her body hurt and it felt like she was going to die of worry for her soulmate, she could feel the other soulmate feeling the same, the desperation to go after the one who was suffering so much.
Honestly at the moment Lux didn't know how to feel other than worried but a few days ago she noticed how strong their bond was.It seemed that even the most basic pains, like a needle piercing your finger, were transmitted through their bond, any feeling was intensely transmitted as well.Normally she is happy to have such a deep bond and share so much with her soulmates but at the moment she doesn't know if she wants them to share everything so intensely, Not because she doesn't want to feel her partner's pain but because of the idea that they are suffering so much and she can't do anything but feel their pain.
She cringed even more at the thought and feeling of helplessness, she could feel one of the soulmates trying to comfort them both even though they were suffering too, she allowed herself to smile weakly, this soulmate seemed so kind, but her smile disappeared as soon as a new wave of pain hit her coming from that soul that was in deep suffering, she didn't know what to call her soulmates, she would need to think of a way to differentiate the two later on.
Lux still radiated worry and sobbed as quietly as possible, curled up in her blankets trying not to draw anyone's attention, she wanted to go help her soulmate who was suffering so much, take care of them and keep them safe, but unfortunately there was nothing she could do other than try to transmit as much comfort as possible to them, she really hopes that her soulmate can feel this and get better, even if just a little.

2 Years Later
Demacia
Lux was hiding in her room, desperate, ashamed and afraid.
At the age of 14, while riding home with her great friend Starfire after an exploration, Lux was attacked by a pack of wolves hungry for her and her horse. When they were about to attack her, Lux, full of fear, released a powerful blast of light from her hand. Horrified, Lux realized that she was a mage, the terror of the Demacians and her family, it was something accidental, but it was terrifying, her whole life she was taught that magic is a horrible thing and suddenly she discovers that she is a mage? Her mind felt like it was going to explode.
Her soulmates were worried about her, she tried to convey something that they could interpret as "I'm fine, don't worry", she and her soulmates had a really strong bond and now they seemed to be able to have some limited conversations through their bond, it was strange but she knew that the two people connected to her could understand what she was transmitting, Lux suspected that in a few years they might even be able to talk through thoughts when they met.
However, even though she had tried to say that she was fine, the terror she felt was much greater than the comfort she tried to convey and she knew that her soulmates didn't believe her, but how could she try to calm down when her family hated mages so much and she was one? Would she be killed if anyone found out? Would she never find her halves? Would she be ripped away from the two before she even found them? Lux started to cry at the thought.
She didn't want this, she wanted to be able to find them, to give them affection and care for them, to help them and love them, she knew that all three of them wanted the same thing but that wasn't possible yet and it was agonizing and frustrating.
Now Lux wanted a hug and to hear that everything would be okay, but her halves were too far away and she didn't know if it was safe to tell anyone in her family about her magic.
In the midst of the panic she felt a little comfort, the Soulmate who always took care of her and the one who suffered the most between them was the one who tried to comfort her, this Soulmate constantly cheered her up and tried to help even though they were far away. Lux also felt the soulmate who was suffering the most trying to help and smiled weakly, her halves seemed very kind, Lux liked that.
Taking a deep breath the blonde tried to calm herself down, she couldn't panic now since apparently she glowed when she was nervous, if her hands glowing at the moment were any indication of that, and she definitely couldn't let anyone find out that she was a mage, she wouldn't let anyone take her away from her halves, she could never forgive herself if she made them go through the pain of losing a soulmate, so she needed to find a way to learn to control her magic so that no one in Demacia would think she was a mage.
There must be some book on magic in the castle library, right? If they fight mages then they need to have information about their powers, right? Yeah, maybe she should spend some time in her family's library. There has to be something about how mages usually control their powers somewhere in there.

Undercity
Powder, or rather, Jinx was worried, she was working on some grenade projects for Silco when she felt a wave of despair, fear and shame, coming from the soul in the West. She was confused, normally this soul was very happy, some days Jinx could even say that she felt it as radiant. In fact, if Jinx were honest, her two soulmates were radiant and even though she is not currently a fan of very happy people, they tend to be annoying always trying to put everyone in a good mood, but this, coming from her soulmates, did not bother Jinx, she loved to feel how happy her halves were, it was one of the few good sensations and feelings she had currently.
Jinx was worried now because of the bad feelings normally what the soul in the West transmitted was boredom, discomfort and tiredness, also some pain but it did not seem like anything to worry about, maybe it was some kind of training since it always seemed to occur at a specific time. Jinx is the main source of sadness and negative feelings in general for the trio, so feeling her most radiant soul so agitated and desperate bothered her a lot, she definitely didn't like it, she tried to comfort her but an enormous fear hit her, she didn't know what caused it, but it was definitely something serious. Her eyes watered without her realizing it, her soulmate was very scared, but why? They were in danger?
"So does that mean your soulmate is going to die before meeting you? Well, well, at least they won't die at the hands of her soulmate."
Mylo whispered over her shoulder
"Shut up! They're not going to die, idiot!" Jinx replied trying to control her breathing.
"I bet she's being unlucky for being your soulmate, karma from the universe just for being linked to you."
"If she dies it's your fault, what kind of useless soulmate are you who can't even protect what should be the most important people to you?"
Mylo continued talking while Jinx tried to ignore his stupid voice.
"Inst that why you never went after your soulmate Piltie? You know they're better off with you. You are a Jinx after all."
This time it was Claggor who spoke, causing Jinx to curse them both for talking at this moment.
Jinx put her hands on her head trying to think of something while Claggor and Mylo's voice hammered in her head still telling her she was useless for not helping her other half and she snorted telling him to shut up again, she couldn't feel bad now, she had to try to take care of her soulmate just like Piltie was trying to do now and not give Piltie any more trouble.
Damn, she really was a useless soulmate and both Piltie and the soul in the west would be better off without her, but fate decided that they should be together and Jinx couldn't let herself be carried away by her torments now, she took a deep breath to calm herself down, ignored Mylo's annoying voice as much as she could and tried to help her soulmate with as much comfort as she could convey, it was the least she could do.

Seraphine was in her room singing while fixing a small radio when she felt fear and despair coming from the soul that she now knew was towards the West, probably between Demacia, Noxus or Freljord. It was too far for her to be able to differentiate in which of these regions her soulmate was, but she knew it was in their direction.
Seraphine was confused for a moment, the soul that was normally radiant as if it were a small Sun lodged in her chest always warming her with its kindness and happiness, which was why Seraphine nicknamed it Sunbeam, feeling so afraid? She felt a hint of shame too, she couldn't imagine why.
She was instantly worried, she didn't like it when her halves were afraid, since she wouldn't be there with them to help them deal with whatever they were going through. Seraphine huffed in frustration for always feeling useless in moments like this but tried to pass on something good to her soulmates, she wanted to go after Soul in Undercity, nicknamed Heart for being the most sensitive of the three and constantly giving both Seraphine and Sunbeam semi heart attacks, but her parents wouldn't let her since her inhibitor so she wouldn't have to listen to people's Souls wasn't ready and she was getting really overwhelmed in public places with all the songs in her head.
She would wait until it was ready and then go to Heart, it had been 2 years and she couldn't wait any longer to go after them, but for the moment she would only focus on trying to help her soulmate in the West, she felt that her Heart was in trouble too but soon the annoying pressure she sometimes felt in her head passed although she still felt the apprehension of her Heart.
They seemed to try hard to forget whatever it was that always caused this uncomfortable feeling to try to comfort the soul in the west as well and Seraphine did the same, her most distant soul was the priority for both of them now, at another time she would worry about anything else.

Demacia
5 Years Later
Lux looked at the starry sky of Demacia, 7 years had passed since she formed her bond with her soulmates, 7 years feeling the emotions of her soulmates, 7 years feeling one of them losing more and more sanity and suffering and 5 years since she had the greatest revelation of her life.
Since she discovered she was a mage, Lux dedicated herself to learning to control her magic and even more to training, she was already undergoing training before discovering she was a mage, her aunt made her learn to fight from an early age but after the incident Lux dedicated herself more to training, she wanted to learn to protect herself in case they discovered her magic.
Lux went on some expeditions with her brother, never actually fighting on the front lines but following the battle closely and mainly supporting the Demacian soldiers and motivating them, everyone seemed to see her as someone trustworthy to follow and be inspired by so Lux took advantage of this to get information and question some things in Demacia and try to learn more about magic, she knew that although they were a little upset that she questioned their laws no one would really be mad at her, well maybe her aunt Tianna.
At some moments during the battle Lux was forced to participate and at some of those moments she had to dirty her own hands with the blood of her own people, she hated every second but she had no choice, they were direct orders from her aunt.
She was forced to help Garen hunt mages, she really didn't want to hunt mages, people like her, part of her own people, demacians, who weren't to blame for being born with the gift of magic, but her priority was to survive, she had to do whatever she could to fit in and, unfortunately, hunting mages was an easy way to fit in with her nation.
And she would do anything, even if she hated it, to one day meet her soulmates. The Soul she nicknamed Bombshell, because of her constant desire to blow things up, something worrying but at the same time cool in Lux's opinion, had already gone crazy, Lux felt it and Joy, her other soulmate, nicknamed that because she was the main source of such emotion for both her and Bombshell since the day Lux discovered she was a mage, could certainly also feel that one of the halves was no longer sane.
Bombshell was someone with a dangerous lifestyle, Lux knew that, she knew they were probably a criminal, someone completely insane and she discovered that she didn't care about that at all, she felt her soulmate's suffering for years, it was just a part of it and she couldn't imagine what it was like to go through all that torment in the flesh, and that's why she didn't care about the fact that her soulmate was crazy, she still wanted to be by her side.
Many times she felt sharp pains in her arm or leg and suspected they were gunshots, if so, she was sure her soulmate was full of scars, both in soul and body and she would make sure to take care of each of them when they met but her parents and aunt seemed to want to postpone this moment as much as possible and this was agonizing, they probably suspected that her soulmate was some criminal too after all Lux showed to feel pain practically every day.
Lux sighed feeling a surge of adrenaline, it came from Bombshell, she felt anger too, she was probably in some risky situation again and this worried Lux and Joy, she felt that her soulmates were close to each other and all the agony and guilt that Joy felt when Bombshell suffered was enough to know that something was preventing her from finding her Soulmate just as something was preventing Lux.
The frustration of both of them for not being able to help their soulmate with whatever she was doing was great, especially when they felt the pain in their left shoulder, Lux cursed, Bombshell had been shot and she was not there to take care of her, she and Joy felt useless for not helping their soulmate although Lux doubted that Bombshell would let them both help in dangerous things.
Lux moved away from the window and sat on her bed trying to concentrate on reading a random book while feeling all of Bombshell's adrenaline and Joy's Anxiety, which was a little strange, while Bombshell was someone who lived with a lot of emotions, Joy seemed to have a calm and monotonous lifestyle except for some headaches she had, which also worried the Blonde, Did her soulmate eat well or rest properly? Because she had a lot of headaches during the days, did her soulmate have some illness? Lux prays that this is not the case, she wouldn't be able to stand it.
And speaking of which... The blonde snorted, putting the book aside when she felt a headache, which she knew came directly and exclusively from Joy, she thought it would be another normal headache but the more seconds passed the worse the pain got, until it reached the point that Lux was curled up in bed clutching her head tightly trying to somehow stop hearing something she wasn't hearing, what was happening now?

Jinx was with Sevika doing a mission for Silco, they had to eliminate a gang that was causing problems for his business and due to Jinx's carelessness in the middle of the fight she was shot in the shoulder but nothing that really worried her.
While dodging other shots and shooting back, even with her injured arm she did well, this gang was not that big of a deal she was really just hit by carelessness, she doesn't even know how these guys gave Silco any trouble.
Suddenly she started to feel a horrible headache coming from her soulmate Piltie and was forced to hide behind a wall because there was no way she could fight feeling that pain.
"Brat, what are you doing?!" Sevika asked approaching when she saw Jinx huddled in a corner. "This is not the time to have a panic attack, Jinx!" She exclaimed angrily.
"I-it's not me!" The blue-haired girl groaned. "It's The Top Sider!" Jinx clutched her head tightly, trying to somehow stop the pain. "There's something wrong with them."
"Ignore it for now!" Sevika yelled angrily as she shot at the enemies, she hated participating in gunfights, her style was hand-to-hand combat and not long-range target shooting.
"No way! It feels like my head is going to explode!" She whimpered. "I like explosions but my head exploding doesn't feel like a good thing." She massaged her temples. "Urgh!"
"Tsk! Your stupid soulmates are just getting in the way!" Sevika yelled angrily.
"Are you going to let her talk about your soulmate like that? You really are a shitty soulmate."
Jinx growled at Sevika and Mylo's voice. He was an idiot. He knew she was going to complain to Sevika whether he was talking or not. She didn't care what Sevika said about her, but she wouldn't tolerate disrespect towards her soulmates.
"Don't open your filthy mouth to talk about my halves! It's not their fault you lost yours!" Jinx said irritably. She wouldn't accept anyone talking bad about Piltie or West. "You're lucky to be a valuable member for Silco or I would have blown you up by now. And remember who made that arm for you." The blue-haired girl stood up, trying to ignore the excruciating pain in her head.
She hated that Sevika was right about this not being the time to suffer from a headache. She just hoped Piltie was okay because this was definitely not a normal headache.

Piltover Top Side
Seraphine cringed as she tried to cover her ears, the songs of other people's souls were too loud in her head, as the years went by her gift of hearing people's souls grew.
And if before it was already a nuisance to go out in public, now it was getting to the point where she could no longer go out or she would be too overwhelmed, so she lived practically in quarantine now, even the walls of her room were covered with soundproofing materials to try to help, but living near the center of Piltover made all of this useless, there were too many people around and consequently too many souls singing and not even the walls could muffle so much music together.
Her inhibitor was never ready because it wasn't exactly easy to do something to solve a problem that her parents and the Hextech developers had never seen before. Her father thinks he's close to achieving it and with Hextech Technology it could actually be possible, but it still wasn't completely ready, which forced Seraphine to wait even longer to see her Heart.
"Seraphine!" She heard her mother's voice in the background but couldn't answer, her head felt like it was going to explode. She could feel that it was a bad time to have a crisis. She knew her Heart was doing something dangerous that required attention and the pain in her arm showed that they had already been hit, but unfortunately Seraphine couldn't control her powers and ended up having to make her soulmates suffer along with her.
"Honey, calm down, please! I'm going to take you to a calmer place!" She heard her father speak but did not respond again, however she felt herself being lifted by her Father, she felt him run trying to go through the emptiest places possible until he reached a small park that was emptier than other places in Piltover, her pain calmed down a little because there were not so many people around anymore, although they were still present and ended up overwhelming her too much, Seraphine could not bear the pressure in her head and even with her father's voice trying to keep her awake everything went dark.
4 Hours later.
Seraphine woke up confused, her head was throbbing and looking around she did not recognize the place she was in, it was not her room and it did not look like a Hospital but it was cozy, she sat up and tried to listen to some music to know if there was anyone nearby but it was then that she noticed, she could not hear anything, nothing but her own breathing.
"What...?" She asked confused, What was happening? Where are the songs that always accompanied her? Her eyes watered and she swallowed hard, why was everything so silent? "Dad! Mom!"
The pinkette heard hurried footsteps in the hallways and then the door opened somewhat abruptly due to the rush.
"My princess!" Her father hugged her but she didn't hug him back, still nervous and disoriented by so much silence. When you've lived 7 years listening to music around you without a break, finally having silence inside your head could be scary and even oppressive.
"Dad! What happened? W-why can't I hear the music? What..." She was cut off by the older man who noticed how agitated his daughter seemed.
"Seraphine! Calm down, daughter!" He asked, holding her face, getting the girl's attention. "That's it, take a deep breath, dear." She did as he was asked. "You don't have to worry about that anymore, my angel, I, with the help of a good man named Viktor, one of the creators of Hextech Technology, have built an inhibitor for you, My Angel, it's this hearing aid, do you feel it in your ear?" The man asked and only then did Seraphine feel that there was something in her ear. "You won't have to bother with these songs overloading you anymore."
Seraphine's eyes watered and her breath hitched as she processed the information, she felt her soulmates confused by the rapid change of emotions from nervous, scared and confused to happy and hopeful.
"Does this mean I'll be able to go to my soulmate?!" She asked euphorically.
"Yes" Her father smiled making Seraphine smile too "But it won't be now" Seraphine's smile fell "We'll need to wait a few days to make sure the Inhibitor is fully functional, dear, you understand, right?" He asked but Seraphine remained silent, clearly bothered "Come on, daughter, you waited 7 years to go to her, you can wait a few more days" Her father spoke without knowing that exactly that was the problem.
She waited 7 years, it was too long, it was 7 years feeling her soulmate suffer and she didn't want to wait any longer but it's not like she had another choice because she was sure her parents wouldn't let her leave.
It was so frustrating how it seemed like everything was trying to keep her and her soulmates away from each other, somehow it felt like everything around her was trying to keep her away from the only things, besides her parents, that really mattered in her life.
But it was okay, she was patient, it was just a few more days, her soulmate would be okay with waiting a few more days... At least she hoped so...

3 days later, On Progress Day
(During Jinx and Sevika's mission to escort Shimmer that is interrupted by the Firelights in EP 4)
Lux and Seraphine felt that their third soulmate was in trouble again.
It started as usual with the almost daily adrenaline that this soul transmitted to them, nothing out of the ordinary, a desire to blow up some things and an excitement generated by whatever activities they were doing but then something went wrong and they felt the third soul's shaken psychology worsen and the torment in their minds reached them, somehow they felt as if their soulmate had seen a ghost.
They felt a pain in their chest at one point, it didn't feel like something had hurt their chest physically, but rather emotionally, an uncomfortable déjà vu that was soon replaced by anger, Seraphine couldn't stand having to wait a whole week until she could go after them, it seemed like every day their condition was getting worse and Lux was almost running away from home to help her soulmate, they were so desperate to help, it hurt so much not to be able to take care of someone so important to them, they could only hope that when they finally reunited, their third soulmate wasn't broken to the point where they couldn't take care of them anymore.
A few hours later on the night of Progress Day
Seraphine heard from her parents that one of the buildings had been blown up during Progress Day, she heard that some Enfircers had been killed and a building was in ruins and for some reason she knew exactly who had done it, she wanted to believe otherwise but there was no point in denying it to herself, her soulmate was responsible for this and she knew that even if the soul in the West didn't know what had happened she felt through Seraphine herself that her third soulmate had done something worrying.
Her soulmate was unstable, actually unstable is probably an understatement, she could feel it, her sanity was hanging by a thread and that is: if she had any sanity left.
She knew that her soulmate in Undercity had a hard life, but it still wasn't easy knowing that her soulmate had blown up a building and killed at least a dozen Enforcers and a few civilians.
Seraphine looked up at the ceiling of her room thinking about it, she had asked her parents to return home, her room was her safe haven, she couldn't sleep well anywhere else.
Would it say a lot about Seraphine if she admitted that she didn't care much about the people who died? Her biggest concern was her soulmate and her health both physical and mental, Seraphine really didn't care as much as she thought she should for the dead Enforcers and she didn't want to think about what that said about her own sanity or the fact that she didn't even feel guilty about not caring about those lives.
She knew it was wrong, she wanted to care about the people who died, but she couldn't, not when her soulmate was her priority, maybe feeling her soulmate go crazy took a little of her own sanity after all...

Undercity
(When Vi and Jinx meet again)
Seraphine and Lux have never been so worried about their soulmate in their entire lives, the last few hours have been a rollercoaster of emotions, they don't know what is happening to their soulmate but neither of them have a good feeling.
Jinx was strangely calm but also anxious, they felt her soul's anticipation for something, they didn't know what it was, but it was something important and they were curious to know what would be the reason for so many mixed feelings coming from a single soul in a bond where there are 3.
For a moment they felt frustration but then it quickly turned to shock, and then from shock it turned to sadness. It wasn't an overwhelming sadness, but still their soulmate was sad, however as quickly as the others this emotion also changed and turned into Anger and confusion.
And then their soulmate was in a fight again, adrenaline once again running through their veins, this time accompanied by anger and disappointment instead of confusion, a twinge in their leg made them know that their soulmate had been hit and maybe they had already gotten used to it but feeling someone so important to them, even if they don't know them, getting hurt will never stop being agonizing.
Their soulmate's anger increased, the feeling of uncomfortable loss weighing through the bond, something or maybe someone had been taken from Jinx, they could feel it. If it was a person they probably weren't killed, since Jinx didn't seem so sad but rather worried and very angry, they hoped that, regardless of what had happened, Jinx would be okay, they really hoped.

Hours later
(While Jinx is Stapling her leg in Ep 7)
Lux and Seraphine felt a horrible pain in their leg, in the same place where they felt Jinx being hurt some time ago, instead of healing the injury it seemed to be making it worse, all the last few days had been too hectic for them, Jinx didn't even have time to think about her halves or try to calm them down since the Firelights stopped the Shimmer shipment.
Her head was too full of Vi and Caitlyn, overloaded with the voices and ghosts of everyone she killed, the little sane part that remained in her mind totally focused on having Violet for her again.
That discomfort in the back of Seraphine and Lux's heads was more present than ever, they didn't know what it was but it felt wrong. It was something that shouldn't have been there, an uncomfortable, annoying pressure that seems to rest on the back of their head, It's annoying and they know it hurts their Soulmate since when this pressure appears Jinx always transmits bad feelings. And it seemed like that annoyance hadn't gone away at all in the last few hours, Seraphine vowed to do something about it when they finally met.
And once again Seraphine And Lux felt the last thread of their soulmate's sanity slipping away and once again Lux hates being away and Seraphine hates being trapped, but just a few more days and Seraphine could go to her Heart, just a few more days...

(Ekko and Jinx's fight in EP 7)
Lux and Seraphine felt the world stop, they both felt their world collapse, their breaths froze, their eyes filled with tears. The reason? They no longer felt the bond with Jinx.
They could no longer feel their soulmate, they felt as if a piece of their soul was ripped from them, Lux went into such a great and sudden shock that she couldn't control her magic, she was exposed as a mage at a family dinner after no longer feeling Jinx, after losing a piece of her soul.
And meanwhile Seraphine was locked in her room, hugging her heart plush, her parents didn't even hear her scream of pain thanks to their soundproof walls but that was good because she didn't want to talk to anyone, she took too long, she didn't arrive in time. Her heart was gone, she had lost one of the loves of her life, she would never forgive herself for being close but never going to her Heart, she should have gone to her soulmate as soon as her hearing aid was finished, no, she should have gone since the bond was made, she should have been close to her heart and they together went to Sunbeam a long time ago, she should have never listened to her parents, especially knowing how dangerous her soulmate's lifestyle was.
Her tears were incessant and her heart - The organ inside her chest that she would give without thinking twice to have her Heart, her soulmate, back - ached inconsolably, losing a Soulmate was the worst pain of all, she had no doubt about that now, she had no desire to get out of bed or do absolutely anything her soul ached too much, she wanted nothing more than to be in Sunbeam's arms at this moment, going through the loss of one of her soulmates while being away from the other was like a nightmare.
Until while the two girls suffered in their grief they felt a small familiar shiver down their spines, the shiver of a bond, they felt their breath catch when they felt a small trace of their third Soulmate, they were alive, they didn't know how, they stopped feeling them so it was obvious that their half had died but now they felt it again, it was confusing but neither of them would complain about it.
They felt pain all over their bodies, too much pain, no one should feel so much pain like that, they didn't know what was happening to their half but Lux swore that if they were hurting her soulmate again she would kill the person responsible without thinking twice, Bombshell had already suffered too much and didn't deserve any more suffering. Seraphine, much more peaceful than her soulmates, thought only about taking care of her Heart when she finally found it.
Lux was trying to escape from her family, even though she was devastated by losing her soulmate. She couldn't let Joy go through the pain of losing both of her soulmates. When the excruciating pain ran through her, her bond with Jinx returned. That's why Garen had to help her escape discreetly. He wouldn't let Demacia touch his little sister.
Now Lux was going to a safe and hidden place, which Garen had arranged for her in advance, being taken by a carriage while screaming and writhing in pain.
Both Seraphine and Lux cringed, writhed and screamed as they felt their partner die and come back to life over and over again. What they felt was something very strange. It was as if at any moment they would stop feeling their third Soulmate. The thought of losing that connection again was frightening.
They stayed like this for hours, Lux arrived at her destination and had to be carried into the cabin where she would spend the next few hours until her brother showed up with news.
She told the coachman to leave, not wanting him to continue seeing her in that state and when the coachman who had taken her there left, Lux endured all that pain alone, sharing it only with Seraphine and Jinx but they were on the other side of the world. The next few hours were hellish until finally the bond stabilized again showing that the third Soulmate was still alive.
Seraphine felt her eyes water and screamed in relief against the pillow, her voice already hoarse from screaming and Lux started to laugh nervously as she leaned against the wall, both of them too relieved to know that the love of their lives was alive, both of them were sure that any sanity their half had at that point had already faded but at least she was alive and that was what mattered, they would love their partner no matter what, crazy or sane it didn't matter, what mattered was that they were together.
Seraphine stood up as soon as she felt the bond stabilize gathering all her remaining energy, all her euphoria and anxiety must have alerted her soulmate that she was finally going to them because she stopped walking as soon as she felt her chest hurt with the feeling of rejection and denial that went through her, Her Heart didn't want her to go to them, but why? Seraphine was confused, she felt that for years, Heart had been asking her to go to them, so why now they don't want her anymore? She felt Heart sad in rejecting her but still trying to prevent her from going to them, Seraphine wanted to ignore it but she couldn't, if that was her Heart's will she would give in a little.
Seraphine could feel Sunbeam as confused as she was, obviously Sunbeam felt Heart's desire to be able to stay with them and also felt Seraphine's anxiety, happiness and nervousness of finally being able to find one of her soulmates and logically she also felt it when Heart tried to ask her to stay away, but despite the confusion Seraphine tried to understand her heart's side.
Her soulmate had just come back from the dead, they should be confused and scared, with all the pain she felt maybe they were in a very dangerous place and didn't want Seraphine to go into danger for them? That's what Seraphine tried to convince herself, taking a deep breath and trying to calm down, okay, she waited years, which was more than a little time... Right?

Notes:
Hey guys! First of all I want to apologize for not updating sooner, but I had a exam week and then I got sick, so it was hard to write in the meantime. But now I'm better so we're back with a new chapter!
I apologize for not reading the comments from the previous chapter much, but I saw someone say that Demacia is to the West and not to the East, so I went to take a look at the map of Runeterra and it really is. I'm the dumb one and didn't think to check the map before so thanks to whoever commented on this! If you notice any other errors like this, please let me know and I will try to fix them.
I would like to thank you once again for all your support, 300 Kudos in 2 chapters is a lot, thanks to all of you!

Chapter Text
Undercity
During Jinx's Tea Party
Seraphine doesn't know where she's going, she's never been this deep into the Undercity before, even though it's the place where her parents were born they only took her near the border between the two cities right at the beginning of Undercity, she's running as fast as she can towards the direction she feels her soulmate but the air in her lungs is scarce, the air contaminated by Undercity chemicals running through her system makes her already difficult path even more difficult.
She tries to run as fast as she can, she can feel the urgency of her half, how desperate they are for the slightest affection and how alone they feel, she knows that their third half can also feel how desperate the soul from Undercity is for affection, she feels the concern coming from the soul in the West and tries to calm it down, tries to make it understand that she's on her way to their Heart, which they both know has suffered too much over the years.
That's why Seraphine doesn't mind facing some dead ends, strange looks and nasty comments to get to them, she tried to disguise herself as best she could and her unusual pink hair in Top Side but relatively common for Undercity definitely helped but whoever looked closely would realize that she is clearly from Top Side more by the way she moves than by her appearance.
Suddenly a wave of despair and sadness hit Seraphine like a punch and she started to cry, she still doesn't understand why, but she knows it comes from her closest soulmate and it makes her go faster than she knew she could, she tries to convey some comfort like she usually does when her partners are sad but that clearly isn't enough, her Heart needs more than that, it needs a hug and a safe place to finally rest.
The pinkette is panting, she can barely breathe, the air burns her lungs but that doesn't matter, she feels an enormous mental fatigue and once again it comes from the closest soul, what is happening to them? More worry and guilt hits Seraphine, this time it comes from her Sun. She feels as much worry and guilt as Sunbeam for not helping Heart, but from now on she swears to herself that she will do everything possible and impossible to save her soulmate from whatever is happening to her.
And when Seraphine instinctively looks up she sees something blue crossing the sky, it comes from where her Soulmate is, it clearly comes from there, she feels it, feels shock and pain run through her body, she tries to go faster, still watching the blue object that crosses the sky and feels an enormous fear when she realizes that it is a missile and is heading towards the Piltover council tower.
And Seraphine wants to care, wants to be concerned about the Piltover council, wants to think about the implications of a missile flying at the heads of the most powerful people in Piltover. She wants to think that it's not a good sign that she knows it was her soulmate who shot the council. But she decides that this is a problem for future Seraphine and that present Seraphine has a much higher priority, which is taking care of her soulmate.
After running from the center of Piltover to the elevator that connects the two cities and then through a significant part of Undercity, since she has no knowledge about Undercity she got lost a few times since the only thing guiding her is the bond that unfortunately only points the direction and not a concrete path avoiding walls, she finally arrives at a place that looks like a factory, but instead of going in Seraphine turns around, feeling that the one she is looking for is not inside the Factory, looking carefully around the place she finds a girl with long blue hair tied in two huge braids kneeling on the edge of a platform overlooking the Piltover council tower, Seraphine instantly knows who this girl is.
Seraphine approaches the girl somewhat fearfully and confirms that it was her soulmate who shot when she sees a shark-shaped missile launcher lying next to her and holds her breath, she feels fear and will not deny it, but her concern for the fallen girl is even greater so cautiously and slowly she approaches and freezes when the blue girl turns to her.
Her first conclusions are that the girl in front of her is beautiful in an inexplicable way but she was clearly not well, she had huge bags under her eyes, clearly wasn't sleeping as she should and was too thin to be healthy, besides all the visible scars, Seraphine can deduce when at least half of them were made when she remembers the pain she felt over the years.
"Hey... You came..." The Blue Girl says breathlessly, her voice breaking and tears streaming down her face. They are neon pink tears, they shine. Seraphine doesn't know if she should be worried about this. The girl's tears are beautiful, but Seraphine hates seeing them there. "I felt you getting closer..."
"I'm sorry for taking so long." She approached the kneeling girl. "What have you been doing all these years?" She asked, still out of breath from the race she had to run to get there. Seraphine kneels next to the Blue Girl and slowly raises her hand to hold her face.
As soon as her hand touched the girl's face, they both gasped at the contact, their souls joining together, coming into contact for the first time. It felt as if a hole inside both of them was being filled. There was still a piece of them missing, but being together after 7 years of yearning for each other was like an oasis in the desert.
Seraphine had to hold herself back from pulling the other girl closer to her, it took all her willpower not to hug her, the pink-haired girl wasn't sure if she would let go of the girl again if she held her in her arms now.
They both felt their third half with a mix of emotions, while they were extremely happy that they had reunited they also felt a pang of jealousy coming from the third person, the desire to be with at least one of their soulmates consuming them, the need for comfort in the arms of one of her partners.
Seraphine and Jinx remained silent for a while just staring at each other and while Seraphine held Jinx's face, she took the opportunity to analyze her soulmate. As she had already concluded before, her soulmate was beautiful. Her neon pink eyes had a glow that Seraphine didn't think was possible before seeing them. Her blue hair was huge and was tied in two well-made but somewhat tangled braids. It had definitely been like that for some time. The deep dark circles under her beautiful eyes bothered Seraphine because she was sure that it had been at least 3 days since her soulmate had slept. The girl in front of her was too thin to be healthy, but at the same time, she was also muscular, probably physically stronger than her frame indicated, and Seraphine guessed that it was due to the adventures that her soulmate had gotten into over the years. Cloud tattoos were spread across the right side of her body, while several scars were visible everywhere that showed the girl's skin. Seraphine felt her chest tighten painfully as she imagined what it must have been like to feel so much pain. Although she had felt a portion of the pain from each of the girl's wounds, she knew that feeling it on her skin was much worse than feeling it in the bond.
"I felt like I was going to die of worry every day, you know? Our other half feels that way too." She caressed the cheek of the smaller girl who closed her eyes in appreciation of the small display of affection she so longed for.
"I'm sorry." She said in a weak voice. "Everything hurts..." She whimpered weakly even though she knew Seraphine knew that because she could feel her pain. "If I could have gone through everything without transmitting any pain to you I would have done that, I never wanted you to suffer with my pain..."
"Don't apologize for something you can't control and don't say you don't want to share your pain with us, we are soulmates, we are here to support each other." Seraphine interrupted the girl and got a little closer to her. "We know how much you suffered and that's why we want to take care of you."
"But..." The blue girl tried to speak but Seraphine didn't let her when she felt she would refuse her care.
"No "buts", please I've waited years for this, I know you're scared but please don't try to push me away now, don't reject all the care I've been suppressing for years, I need to take care of you now to feel at least a little bit good, to try to make up for all the years I've been away." Seraphine took a deep breath and tried to convey the need she had to take care of the blue girl and watched the girl gasp when she felt how much Seraphine wanted to take care of her. "I have 7 years of absence to make up for, you won't escape me, I'll take care of you." Seraphine held the other girl's gaze firmly and soon the smaller girl shrugged her shoulders and wilted in defeat knowing she wouldn't convince the pink girl to leave her.
"Anyway, we need to get out of here before they arrive." The blue girl said looking around and grabbing her gun. "But first I need to hide this, we won't be able to get out of here with Fishbones on my back adding weight and I don't want anyone to catch Fishbones."
"Who's coming?" Seraphine asked confused, she had just reached her soulmate and they couldn't even talk properly because they would have to run away from someone?
"Cupcake and Vi..." The blue one tried to get up again but couldn't.
"Hey, calm down! You're hurt, don't try so hard." Seraphine held her so she wouldn't fall and helped her get up even though she was confused and curious about who Cupcake and Vi were. "Let's go to my house... By the way, my name is Seraphine, what's your name?" The younger girl seemed to hesitate a little before answering.
"Jinx... It literally means that, Jinx." She said looking bitter "You should leave, go meet our other half and be happy together, far away from me, I... I'm a walking curse, everyone around me dies, I don't want to hurt you, I don't want you to die..." Jinx let a few tears fall as she leaned on Seraphine because she was limping.
"Stop talking nonsense, I already told you I won't leave you, they won't either, we're soulmates, we're a trio, we're going to be together." Seraphine said, starting to walk while supporting the girl's weight and Jinx was silent for a moment.
"We need to go hidden, everyone is my enemy now that Silco is dead." Jinx said as she guided Seraphine to a pile of rubble and hid her gun underneath it and took out a kind of blue jewel from inside the gun. "I'm not going to risk losing one of those." She said, putting the jewel in her pocket. "That way." She pointed to a tunnel. "I know a way to get to Piltover fast."
After some time of silent walking with only Seraphine enjoying the company of her soulmate and the skin-to-skin contact that made her feel almost complete while trying to send comfort to both Soulmates because Jinx was still a little disturbed by whatever had happened before they met and the third soul was worried and a little jealous, they arrived at a sewer that seemed to connect the two cities.
"We need to go in there to get to Piltover." Jinx said pointing to the stream that looked and smelled uninviting.
"This... It doesn't look very hygienic, you're injured and the dirt from the sewer could infect your wounds." Seraphine said worried about Jinx but also trying to do something to avoid entering such a dirty place.
"I'm tough, don't tell me you're afraid of dirty water, Piltie." Jinx said making fun of Seraphine who made a face.
"It's not fear, you know that well." She snorted, after all if she was scared Jinx would feel it and she doubts the blue one would have forced her to go into a place she was afraid of. "It's disgusting and it could hurt you, how is your leg?" She asked trying to find a scar and Jinx knew she was asking that because of the day she had stapled her own leg. Jinx admits she wasn't thinking very well and it wasn't her best moment.
"Completely healed!" Jinx pointed to her leg and lifted her pants a little where there should have been a very ugly scar but to Seraphine's surprise there was nothing. "After that day I almost died or did I die? Well, after that day I was... Hmm... Different, let's say. A crazy doctor implanted a drug in me and now I have a scary regeneration and my body is all different, I mean, look at my eyes." Jinx pointed to her eyes. "They used to be blue and now they're pink!"
"What? What do you mean? Your eyes changed color?" Seraphine asked, confused and worried, Jinx's eyes changing color couldn't be a good thing, her sudden concern alerted the other half that wasn't with them and she tried to calm herself down so as not to worry her soulmate unnecessarily for now, although her own concern didn't diminish.
"Apparently there's so much drug inside me now that it's part of my body, for example, have you ever seen someone have pink tears? I'm sure you haven't." Jinx said and Seraphine stared at her for a moment, thinking. "See? There's so much drug in me that it must have fused with everything in my body."
"Jinx, this isn't good!" Seraphine said even more worried than before
"Calm down, Piltie! It's not that bad, tomorrow all my injuries should be healed, my leg healed in a few hours after I woke up! I also have superhuman agility, endurance and strength now!" She said excitedly and Seraphine couldn't help but find her excitement cute even though she knew that this wasn't the time for it.
"I don't know if this is exactly good... The drug can have side effects, do you feel bad in any way?" She asked, analyzing the smaller girl.
"If I felt like that, you'd know, Piltie." She said with a shrug. "Anyway, enough stalling, let's go to your house, Cupcake and Fat Hands must be looking for me by now." Jinx said, letting go of Seraphine and jumping into the sewer.
"Jinx!" Seraphine exclaimed at the edge of the stream.
"It's okay, Cotton Candy!" Jinx emerged from the water. "Jump in too, we'll get there in no time, I promise!"
Swallowing hard and taking a deep breath, Seraphine closed her eyes and jumped into the water next to Jinx, trying not to sink, but she failed since there was no place to step there, she would definitely need a bath later.
"Good, Piltie!" Jinx said when Seraphine put her head out of the water. "Now come on, be careful not to swallow the water, you never know what got into it." Seraphine grimaced as she followed the girl swimming.
When they finally reached the other side, Seraphine realized that they were right under the bridge that divided the two cities. Jinx climbed up and helped the Pinkie do the same.
"So? How was it?" Jinx asked amusedly, not even needing the bond to know that Seraphine had hated every second of it, it was undoubtedly written on the grimace on her face.
"We're filthy now, let's take a shower as soon as we get to my house." She said, sighing and cringing thanks to the cold wind that blew on her wet clothes.
"Hey, look what we have here." Jinx looked at a squirrel that was watching the two of them. "There aren't many of those down there. Normally people catch them to eat." She petted the small rodent that was surprisingly docile.
"Catch them to eat?!" Seraphine asked in horror.
"Yes, Food is scarce in the Alleys, Piltie. Well, animals in general, only rats and cockroaches are common, the rest are not very resistant to the chemicals that run in the air." Jinx spoke and Seraphine became sad with the conditions her soulmate had to live in, she mentally scolded herself once again for not having gone after Jinx before. "This one makes a cool barbecue down there, but I've never been much of a fan of eating cute animals like squirrels, cats or dogs." Jinx smiled weakly when the squirrel climbed onto her hand and Seraphine took a second to appreciate the Bluenette's small smile, it was the first time she had seen her smiling so softly, it was a small smile but it was very beautiful, she wished to see it more often.
"Okay, okay, let's go to my house, I want to take care of you and we have a lot to talk about." The Pinkette stood up and Jinx went to do the same but staggered while being held by Seraphine. "Careful! You're still weak and hurt." Seraphine grimaced. "You're starving too, how long has it been since you last ate?"
"How long has it been since I last ate? 2 days, I think? I really don't remember." Jinx spoke and felt a little guilty, she was sure that none of her soulmates would approve of this.
"Two days?! Jinx!" She exclaimed in reprimand and Jinx cringed a little.
"Sorry..." She didn't know exactly why she was apologizing, she had gone longer than that without eating and never cared about Silco's complaints about it, even Sevika scolded her sometimes and Jinx never cared, but feeling Seraphine's indignation and concern she felt she should apologize for being so careless with her health.
"Don't ever do that again! You need to eat!" Seraphine huffed in irritation and pinched the bridge of her nose as she took a deep breath to try to calm herself. "Let's go home, now!"
"Bye, Little Friend!" The girl put the squirrel on the ground who just looked at the two, observing them curiously. "I really liked this little guy." Jinx spoke softly and Seraphine looked at the squirrel and then at Jinx and felt a pang in her heart when she saw the smaller girl clearly enchanted with the squirrel. She would probably let Jinx take the squirrel home if she asked, she was sure she couldn't deny a request from the girl.
"Someone is curious." Jinx said amusedly and Seraphine soon realized that she was talking about the third soulmate who was really curious to know what was going on and let out a little laugh.
"You seem to be having fun with their curiosity." Seraphine said with a small smile.
"And I am, but I wanted them here too." The blue girl pouted.
"I wanted them too, we'll go get them soon, okay?" Seraphine proposed and Jinx nodded somewhat reluctantly, Seraphine didn't understand why but didn't question the girl.
The two continued their way to the building near the center of Piltover, where Seraphine lived, trying to go as unnoticed as possible in the chaos that was happening in the city, after all Jinx had just blown up the council tower where the councilors were present, surely some of them, if not all of them, had died and this left the city in complete chaos.
The two tried to walk through the emptiest alleys and streets they could find to avoid all the enforcers they could find in the midst of the chaos. Fortunately, most of them were in the council tower trying to find any survivors of the attack.
When they finally reached the building where Seraphine's house was, the pinkette thanked the heavens that the street was practically empty. It would be much easier to enter without anyone asking who the girl with her was.
"Jinx, we need a way to get you into my house without my parents seeing." Seraphine said, stopping at the door of the building, and Jinx looked up.
"Does your room have a window?" Jinx asked, analyzing the structure of the building.
"Yes, but it's on the sixth floor. It's very high." She said, worried, already having an idea of what Jinx was planning.
"No problem, Pinkie." Jinx tried to reassure the other girl. "I've climbed worse than this, I'll make it. Which window do you have?" The blue girl said, moving away.
"But you're hurt." Seraphine protested but felt Jinx's confidence in her abilities and anyway they needed Jinx to get in without her parents seeing so even though she was reluctant she indicated which was her window. "It's that one over there." She pointed to a window, fortunately open, decorated with some pots of flowers.
"Trust me, Piltie. I promise not to get any new scratches, I'll see you up there?" Jinx smiled trying to reassure her soulmate and Seraphine sighed defeated but nodded before finally entering the building.
Jinx didn't think twice before starting her climb, taking extra care not to fall due to mental fatigue, her body was full of energy and full of Shimmer but her mind was a mess, the only thing that kept her from having a breakdown was her pink soulmate distracting her from the recent events, but surely the moment she finished processing everything she would have a mental breakdown and it wouldn't be nice at all.
She almost turned around and walked away when she thought about it, but she kept climbing only because she promised Seraphine that she would be up there without a new scratch. It wasn't hard to get to Seraphine's window, the building was fortunately easy to climb for her, and she entered the other girl's room trying to make as little noise as possible so as not to attract the attention of Seraphine's parents.
Looking around and being careful not to bump into anything because it was still dirty with sewage, Jinx noticed that Seraphine's room somehow gave off a sense of comfort and peace, which was unusual since, well, she's Jinx! And she doesn't feel comfort and peace in anything other than her bond with her soulmates and sleeping with Silco after some particularly bad nightmare. There is no peace and comfort with her other than that, she is chaos, always jinxing everything.
But analyzing the room she couldn't deny that it was so... Seraphine. And maybe that's what gave her this calm.
She doesn't know Seraphine well, she doesn't know much about her soulmate yet, they met what must be a little over an hour ago and barely talked but still the room conveyed the essence of the girl.
Pink walls, similar to Seraphine's hair color, with stickers scattered everywhere (most of them of hearts and sun with happy faces), a single bed full of pillows and clearly comfortable with two plush toys (one of a heart and the other of a smiling sun), a nightstand with a lamp next to the bed, a bookshelf with some books and decorations, a dressing table full of things and skin and hair care products, instruments scattered everywhere, there was a guitar, a drum, a violin, a keyboard, a flute and more instruments that Jinx didn't know and even a microphone.
There were also two doors in the room, one is obviously the exit and the other must be to a bathroom or closet, of course Seraphine has one of those in her room, Pilties and their unnecessary extravagances.
Lost in her thoughts about Seraphine's room, Jinx was taken by surprise, jumping a little in fright when the door opened, revealing the owner of the room, who quickly closed the door behind her.
She was so distracted that she didn't even notice Seraphine approaching or her nervousness at having to face her parents in her current condition.
"It was surprisingly easy to get past my parents." The pinkette began, relieved, after locking the bedroom door. "They're so busy listening to the news on the radio about the attack on the council that they barely heard me passing by and they also didn't notice the horrible smell I'm giving off, we need a shower!" The girl exclaimed, going to the other door and entering. "How was it for you to get up?"
"Pretty easy." Jinx said, following her, still being careful not to get anything dirty. "I told you I wouldn't get hurt, I've climbed worse." Jinx said, passing through the door that she quickly realized was a closet full of clothes. It wasn't a huge closet, but it still had some space and more clothes than anyone from Undercity would ever have in their entire life.
And there's another door on the other side of the closet. Of course Piltie has a closet inside her bedroom and a bathroom inside the closet. Pilties and their unnecessary extravagances. Seriously, why have a closet that size? A wardrobe or a dresser would be enough.
"What's the problem?" Seraphine asked as she picked up some clothes, probably feeling her disdain.
"Nothing." She answered, not paying much attention, but feeling Seraphine still uncomfortable with it. "It's really nothing, Piltie, just thinking about how you Piltover people are unnecessarily extravagant, like, I understand the appeal of a exclusive bathroom but I don't understand why a closet like that is, a wardrobe should be enough, but it's probably Zaunite simplicity clashing with Piltie extravagance." Jinx said and soon noticed that Seraphine flinched a little, damn it, did she hurt the girl? She always screws everything up, doesn't she? The girl must be regretting that fate chose a Zaunite as her soulmate, they haven't even been together for 2 hours and Seraphine must already be regretting having gone after Jinx.
"Hey hey, what's up now?" Seraphine approached worriedly and Jinx came out of her self-loathing thoughts.
"Oh, it's nothing again." She said trying to calm down and realizing that Seraphine was worried but... Happy? Wasn't she regretting having met Jinx? Her other half was confused and curious now too, it must not be very nice to be left in the dark.
"This time it was "nothing", you know I can feel it." The girl said with a sullen frown, crossing her arms.
"...Let's take a bath and then you can worry about it." Jinx said hoping she would forget about it later and Seraphine sighed, realizing that the blue girl would not give in easily, so she decided not to press.
"Okay, I'll prepare the bath." Seraphine said, heading towards the bathroom door but stopped on the way, turning to Jinx. "Do you want..." She began but Jinx interrupted her.
"You take a shower first, I can feel how much you're in agony about being dirty, I'm used to it anyway, it's not very rare for me to have to dive in that place." Jinx said with a shrug when Seraphine was clearly bothered by Jinx being used to being covered in sewage.
"Okay, but I don't want you to just stand there while I shower, find a spot on the floor to sit, okay?" Seraphine asked softly and Jinx nodded.
When the pinkette entered the bathroom and locked the door Jinx quickly sat down in an empty corner of the closet and remained silent, analyzing the closet and listening to the sound of the shower for a while until she finally allowed herself to think about what had happened in the last few hours.
Her head was surprisingly quiet, no Mylo, Claggor, Vander or Vi annoying her and talking over her thoughts.
No voice telling her how unlucky she was and that she just fucked everything up, being able to think clearly after all this time was almost overwhelming. The last time she had no one but herself in her head was before the mission that the Firelights ruined, after that she didn't have a single moment of peace.
Her clear and voiceless thoughts were obviously thanks to Seraphine, the moment they touched each other all the voices went silent, maybe they didn't want to get in the way but Jinx knew that wasn't the case, they would never miss the chance to see Jinx lose her soulmate for some stupid thing she did.
So does this mean that somehow the bond kept them away, maybe things got better while Seraphine was around? Or it could also be like when she's building new explosives or weapons, the voices usually go silent so as not to get in the way at those moments because if Jinx explodes they explode with her, even though they start talking again when Jinx gets used to making those explosives.
But Jinx's life isn't threatened by Seraphine so that's definitely not the case now.
And as much as Jinx wanted to keep the voices quiet, she also didn't want to hurt the girl, besides being her soulmate Seraphine was clearly kind and sweet, who would shelter someone like Jinx if they weren't kind? Seraphine is clearly a good person and Jinx doesn't want to hurt her. She's Jinx, Jinx doesn't deserve good people in her life, even if they are her soulmates.
She'll get tired of me at some point anyway, I know that.
It's not unheard of for a soulmate to not want anything to do with the other even with the bond that unites them, of course at some point she won't want me anymore, she's just excited now for having found one of her soulmates but when this euphoria passes and also when she meets our other half she'll finally realize how horrible I am and how I just fuck everything up...
I should probably get out of here, right? It'll hurt less if I'm the one leaving...
But it hurt a lot when Vi left, would Seraphine feel that pain? I don't want that.
But it will hurt much more if I get attached to her and she leaves me or even worse if I kill her like I killed Silco.
Oh yes, Silco, I killed him, I forgot about that while I was with Seraphine...
He was my father, the only one who truly loved me until the end, wasn't he?...
Vi rejected me, she doesn't love me as I am, she prefers Piltie. But this time it was me who left her, she doesn't love me anymore, she says she'll always be my sister but I know she won't. She can't accept that I've changed, she doesn't love Jinx, she loves Powder and I'm not Powder. She always taught me that actions speak louder than words, she and Silco taught me that, so why doesn't she accept that I sat in the chair with the name Jinx? That says more than a thousand words! I'm not Powder! I'm Jinx! And Silco, my father, was the only one who loved Jinx.
I...
Did I kill my father? Of course I did, I'm Jinx, of course I killed my own father.
He... He said I was perfect, he wouldn't lie to me, would he?
I guess he wasn't lying, he believed it, there's a difference between lying and being wrong.
He didn't lie since he really believed it, but he was definitely wrong, but how could he believe I was perfect after everything?
Wouldn't he really give me up? Would he give up his life's dream for me? I can't imagine how he could love me so much, but he taught me that it's in death that a person shows their true colors and even in death he said I was his daughter and that I was perfect...
And he said that after I shot him, so it was true to him, right?
Should I have really shot the council? Would Dad approve of it? I didn't ask... He was so mad when I blew up a building... What would he do if he knew I blew up the council?
And of course, there's that too, on top of all this, all of Piltover, including Cupcake and Fat Hands, will hunt me down in a few hours, I can't stay here, it's not safe for Seraphine, I'll put her in danger and she'll get hurt or even die and then everything will get worse and the other soulmate will never want to be with me, but if I leave now they'll still be able to meet and be together without me jinxing them.
I need to get out of here and let them be happy without me...
I know I need to...
So why isn't my body moving? Is it tiredness? No, I'm overflowing with Shimmer, I won't be tired any time soon, maybe it's mental tiredness then?...
No, it's not that... That's it... I can't move because I don't want to go... But I need to, right?
"Jinx!" Jinx raised her head in fright when she heard Seraphine's voice loud in her ears and felt hands holding her face tenderly. "My Heart, why are you crying?" Seraphine asked worriedly, running her hands over the pink tears that were falling from Jinx's bright eyes.
"W-what...?" Jinx asked confusedly, her voice breaking, sounding too rough for her own ears.
When had she started crying? When had Seraphine gotten out of the shower? How long had she been stuck in her thoughts? Why did breathing seem so difficult now?
She could feel the concern of both her soulmates, the soulmate she had yet to meet was trying her best to calm her down, it was almost as if a voice that didn't come from Seraphine was asking her to calm down and be okay.
But how could she even think about getting better? She killed her own father! The only one who was always by her side, the only one who took care of her, who taught her how to survive, gave her a family, a home. The man who was willing to give up his biggest dream just to protect her, someone who even in death would not leave her.
"Heart, focus on my voice." Seraphine spoke, Trying to pull Jinx out of the spiral of negative thoughts she felt the girl was falling into. Kneeling in front of Jinx and speaking in the softest voice Jinx had ever heard in her life. The caress she made on her face with such care made Jinx focus her eyes on the girl in front of her who had a worried expression. "Follow my breathing, okay? Can you do that for me?" The pink haired girl asked and Jinx tried to control her breathing at the same pace as Seraphine's. "That's it... Good job, take a deep breath..." Seraphine took a deep breath and Jinx imitated her. "... And now let it out." Jinx let it out and repeated it a few more times, feeling calmer. Seraphine's hands maintained contact between their souls and gently caressed her face with such care that it didn't seem real while her other soulmate transmitted all the affection and comfort she could. They were definitely helping her calm down.
"That's it honey, keep it up, breathe in and out, that's it, good job." Seraphine continued talking to Jinx, trying to distract the girl. "Now, Heart, tell me 5 things you can see, can you do that for me?" Seraphine asked softly, one hand caressing Jinx's face while the other drew circles on her back.
"You, a teddy bear, your clothes, drawers, the bathroom." Jinx replied letting her eyes roam around the room.
"Okay, now tell me four things you can touch, My love, and touch them so you can feel that they are here." Seraphine continued.
"You, the floor, myself, the wall." Jinx replied touching each of the things as Seraphine asked.
"That's my girl, three things you can hear, Jinx." Seraphine asked and Jinx tried to focus.
"You, Me and... The wind blowing the window." There weren't many sounds in the room, Jinx came to the conclusion that the walls were soundproof since it was so quiet.
"Good job, Heart, 2 things you can smell." Seraphine kept asking, Jinx didn't know how or why but it was really helping her focus her mind.
"You and myself" Jinx replied, grimacing as she remembered that she was still dirty and Seraphine shouldn't touch her since she just took a shower.
"Great, just one more thing now tell me 1 thing you can taste." Seraphine asked once more.
"Nothing, I can't taste anything right now." Jinx replied and Seraphine nodded.
"Alright, you seem calmer, are you okay now, Sweetheart?" Seraphine asked, still caressing Jinx's face, her other hand now caressing Jinx's arm instead of her back.
"When... When did you get out of the shower?" Jinx asked confused, she hadn't seen or heard Seraphine come out of the shower, she should have been alert, Jinx was always alert that's why she was still alive after all.
"It hasn't been more than 5 minutes" Seraphine said still caressing Jinx's face. "I was taking a shower when I felt you were panicking, I didn't understand why because I didn't hear my parents' voices and the bedroom door is locked but then I assumed it was a panic attack, I tried to talk to you from inside the bathroom but you didn't respond, I finished the shower as quickly as possible and when I came out I found you curled up with your hands holding your head that was resting on your knees and crying. I called you for a while because I was afraid to touch you and end up making your panic attack worse because you weren't receptive, but you only woke up when I touched you." Seraphine explained.
"I think I'll always be receptive to your touch." Jinx spoke before she could filter her confused thoughts and, when she realized what she had said, she felt her cheeks heat up.
Why would she say that? Jinx doesn't like touches! Especially on her face, after all, that's where Vi hit! The only one she let touch her face was Silco. Damn soulmate impulses.
"Oh well, do you think you're okay now to at least take a shower, Sweetheart?" Seraphine asked turning her head to the side and trying to hide her red face, Jinx cursed herself for finding that cute. "You need to wash your hair, I'm sure your braids need to be redone." This snapped Jinx out of her haze of comfort from the girl's touch, voice and cuteness and made her move away from Seraphine a little.
"No. I'm not going to undo the braids." Jinx spoke firmly, not wanting to leave space for argument.
"But, Heart, your hair is dirty from the sewage and the braids are worn out, I can redo them for you if you want." Seraphine spoke more softly, feeling Jinx's discomfort at the mention of undoing the braids.
"I... My father made them..." Jinx cringed, remembering the only person who made her happy in the damn world where she always jinxed everything. "He... He died and..." Jinx spoke, shedding a few tears as she remembered what, or rather, who killed him. "I-I don't want to undo them..." Her choked voice and the sight of her beautiful watery eyes made Seraphine's chest hurt once again, her soulmate looked so hurt.
"Oh..." Seraphine felt her other soulmate worried about the pain she felt thanks to the vision in front of her, Jinx looked so fragile and was so sad and distressed, Seraphine cursed herself once again for not having been there for Jinx before. "I see... but Jinx, you still need to wash your hair, you might catch some disease like that and as much as I understand why you don't want to undo the braids, you need to." Seraphine spoke slowly touching her face again, alert for any sign of rejection to the touch or imminent panic attack. "I said I'll take care of you, so I won't let you get sick because of this, I know it took me a while but I'm here now, let me take care of you, okay?" Seraphine asked calmly and Jinx was flooded with that need Seraphine had to take care of her again. Jinx took a deep breath, closed her eyes and leaned into Seraphine's hand enjoying the touch of her soulmate, she shouldn't do this, but having their souls connected was a comfort she needed or she would end up having another panic attack.
"I-I don't know if I can..." Jinx spoke hating how her voice was shaking and how it made her sound fragile and weak.
"It's okay, I'll undo your braids for you and then you'll take a nice warm and relaxing bath and then I'll dry your hair, comb it and then make new braids for you." Seraphine spoke with her voice somehow even softer than before, Jinx didn't even know it was possible for someone to sound so caring "Is that okay with you, My Heart?"
"Hm, I guess so..." Jinx spoke with her eyes still closed, enjoying the warmth of the girl's palm on her face and the comfort that her other soulmate transmitted.
She still didn't want to undo her braids because it was something Silco did, but Seraphine's touch combined with her soft voice was so calming and the girl's need to take care of her was so great that Jinx didn't have the strength to deny the girl's undoing of her braids.
Maybe I can stay at least a little while before I have to leave, I just need to be careful not to get attached and not let Seraphine get hurt because of me...
Notes:
So, this chapter was supposed to be kind of more emotional, I want to try to address Jinx's psychology more and make it something really relevant to the plot. But I don't know if I'm very good at this but I'll try, I want to bring through Jinx, Seraphine, Lux and others characteres too, some moral and psychological problems and I also want to address neurodiversity such as autism and ADHD and obviously Jinx's schizophrenia is included. As someone who has ADHD I really enjoy having headcannons of some neurodivergent characters, I hope this doesn't bother you!
Well I hope you enjoyed the chapter, sorry for any mistakes again, I'm still improving my English and see you next week!

Chapter Text
Demacia
When Lux discovered she was a mage, she was riding home one fateful night when Lux and her horse were attacked by a pack of ravenous saber-toothed wolves. In a moment of fear and desperation, the young woman released a torrent of magical light from deep within her being, trapping the beasts but leaving Lux trembling with fear. Magic, the terror of Demacian myth, was as much a part of Lux as her Crownguard bloodline.
But as time passed and she grew older, Lux began to notice inconsistencies in the anti-magic policy of the so-called glorious Demacia, the prejudice and injustice that Demacia was so proud of.
Under the pretense of wanting to avoid a second rune war, Demacia oppresses and hates everything and anything related to magic, and of course that obviously includes mages.
Innocent people, people who are not to blame for the war that happened hundreds of years ago, people who did nothing wrong other than being born with magical power were imprisoned, exiled and even killed by Demacia without even having the chance to defend themselves and when they defended themselves they were called monsters or demonic beings, just for doing something as basic as trying to survive.
Before she was 14 years old Lux never imagined that she would be one of those people.
For years she hid her magic, for long years Lux struggled to learn how to control her magic on her own, it's not like she could ask anyone for help with that, for 5 long years Lux was the perfect daughter and represented the image of a perfect Crownguard helping the wounded, being present at political events and being obedient, she even fought to protect her family's honor.
Lux killed people, mages, her own people, innocent people. All of this for the "Glorious" Demacia.
All to be thrown away, threatened with death by her own family and threatened with persecution at a time when she could not control her magic because one of her soulmates died.
She would never blame her other half for the situation she found herself in, ever.
Her soulmate was not to blame for how cowardly, backward and prejudiced Demacia was.
The world around Demacia was evolving, a few years ago Piltover had invented the Hexgates, portals made of magic combined with science, this facilitated trade, made travel easier, Hextech technology was well spoken of and used by several nations around the world.
But of course Demacia and its closed mind would never admit that something made with any particle of magic was in its kingdom.
Lux sighed tiredly, she was sitting at a kitchen table in the isolated cabin where Garen made her hide, the blonde was trying to keep up with her soulmates, Lux didn't even know how to describe her current feelings.
She's happy, of course she is, she knows how long her soulmates have waited to be reunited so it's obvious she's happy for them. But she's also jealous or maybe it's envy, but it's probably both.
She wanted to be there, she wanted to feel at least partially complete too, she wanted to join them and take care of them, she wanted it so much...
Lux has always felt protective of her soulmates, it could be because her aunt always told her she had to stay strong to protect her soulmates but... No, it wasn't her aunt's influence, she always felt that her two halves deserved to be protected and after Bombshell died and miraculously came back to life this desire to protect intensified.
And her halves could feel it, her desire to be with them, to protect them, to take care of them, they tried to comfort her but Lux knew it wouldn't be enough, she needed to hold them both in her arms and make sure they were both whole.
She still remembers the horror and pain of losing a piece of herself.
~★~
Lux was having dinner with her family, the table was practically silent, only the sound of the cutlery being heard, that's how Crownguard family dinners usually are, without much dialogue and without warmth, sometimes Lux wonders if it's like this for all families or if it's just hers that can't share affection with each other.
Probably the second.
Leaving that aside, the blonde focused on her bond with her soulmate, Joy was particularly worried today and Lux couldn't blame her.
Bombshell had been getting worse and worse, more and more pain was coming to Lux, more and more negative feelings, less and less sanity was felt and currently a huge wave of jealousy hit her like a painful blow, something was about to happen to Bombshell, she was sure of it.
Lux always knew that their bond was strong, very strong, they hadn't even met yet and they could feel all of each other's emotions, many spend their entire lives trying to decipher their partners' emotions and she and her soulmates never had any problem with that, that the most silly thing about physical pain was transmitted between them, Lux could swear that in some rare moments she had heard things through the bond as well.
She had hopes that when they met they could even hear each other's thoughts, that would be fascinating, a bond this deep was not common and the idea of sharing it with her soulmates was incredible.
Lux was taken out of her thoughts by a pain in her face that made her put her hand to her nose, catching Garen's attention who frowned, surely already imagining that it was her soulmate, Garen wasn't a big fan of bombshells due to the pain that Lux was forced to feel because of them.
Lux knows this pain, someone was punching her soulmate in the face, someone was hurting her soulmate and from the feeling of sadness and anguish that came over Lux it wasn't a training and the attacker wasn't unknown, probably someone close to her soulmate.
Joy was also worried and extremely distressed, as well as anxious and nervous as well.
But Lux was angry, angry at whoever was hurting one of her halves and causing so many negative feelings to her two companions as she felt angry at herself for not being there to protect her soulmate.
For a moment Bombshell felt nothing but deep sadness until finally Lux felt it.
Her body felt like it was burning.
Lux screamed, drawing the attention of everyone at the table.
An explosion, she came to the conclusion.
Her parents tried to get closer.
The bond connection began to fail.
Lux fell to the floor.
With each second her bond grew weaker.
She heard Garen, her parents and her aunt calling her name, Garen's strong hands trying to hold her while Lux screamed and writhed, tears falling.
And then nothing, she no longer felt the pain, she no longer felt two bonds, just a bond and an emptiness, an anguished and depressed bond and a huge emptiness in her chest.
Lux screamed, her magic stirred inside her, she couldn't control it and everything flashed, Garen was repelled, thrown away from her, while everything went white for a moment and then darkness hit her as Lux passed out feeling a pain she never imagined she would feel.
The pain of having a bond broken.
The next thing Lux remembered was waking up in her room, disoriented and with an emptiness in her heart, not knowing how much time had passed. She tried to feel her bonds, tried to convince herself that it was just a nightmare, but when she felt only a soulmate, it was as if everything had hit Lux like a building collapsing directly on her head. Tears rolled down her eyes without her being able to control them.
Looking out the window, Lux saw that it was still night, so maybe it had been a few hours or just a few minutes. Lux quickly got out of bed, wiping her tears when she remembered that her magic had gotten out of control. Everyone had seen it. She could be handed over to the Mageseekers at any moment. Before she could panic, Garen burst through the door.
"Lux! Oh, thank god you're awake!" Her brother exclaimed, pulling her into a hug.
"Gah! I..." The youngest tried, but Garen interrupted her by holding her shoulders.
"We need to get you out of here," Garen said, going to his closet and grabbing the first backpack he found and stuffing his clothes inside.
"How long was I unconscious?" Lux asked, still disoriented.
"About 15 minutes only, our parents will call the Mageseekers." Lux's heart skipped a beat when she heard that, her own parents would call mage hunters for her. "I tried to convince them not to call them but they ignored me, Aunt Tianna is trying to distract them while I get you out of here."
"Aunt Tianna..?" Lux asked, not really believing that her aunt would help her.
For a moment Garen stopped packing his things and sighed, turning to his younger sister.
"We both... already knew, Lux," the older one declared, leaving Lux in shock.
"What?!" She asked confused. "How?!"
"Training magic in our Garden and drawing yourself by releasing light from your hands isn't exactly the definition of discreet." Garen said with a huff. "I found out about two years ago, Tia found out a few months after me, we did everything to cover you up but now it was all in vain."
"I apologize, brother, but it's still hard to believe that Auntie Tianna is helping me," Lux said suspiciously and Garen was silent for a while.
"I'm not going to lie, Lux." He sighed. "I'm helping you because I'm your brother and I love you and Demacia will only touch you over me, I'm loyal to Demacia from the tip of my toe to the last hair on my head but I won't hand my sister over to be arrested or killed. Unfortunately, that's not the reason why Auntie Tianna is helping you... Maybe there's some part of her that's doing it out of love for her niece but the main reason is that you being exposed as a mage would ruin the name of the Crownguard." Garen said and Lux nodded not too shaken, she didn't expect any other reason anyway.
"Where am I going?" Lux asked, grabbing a few items from her closet to put in her backpack.
"I had already prepared a place for you to stay in advance in case that happened. A small cabin hidden between Cloudcamp and Tibersia, hopefully you won't need to stay there for long." He said, handing over the last items they both thought necessary for Lux to take.
"What do you plan to do?" Lux asked, closing her backpack.
"Prince Jarvan is my best friend... He's known you since you were kids, at one point you were almost engaged." Lux grimaced as she remembered that, her Aunt was the one who proposed it but both she and Jarvan were firmly against the idea, the only people who would have them would be their soulmates, that was something they both agreed on. "I'll negotiate your exile," Garen said. "I apologize, sister, but this is the best I can do."
"Don't apologize, Gah. This is perfect, I have to find someone, anyway." Lux spoke, her voice melancholic as she spoke of one person instead of two.
"I... I'm sorry, Lux." Garen spoke and Lux knew immediately that he wasn't talking about exile.
Lux didn't answer, not trusting her voice to do so, it seemed that any sudden movement would make her collapse with the abysmal emptiness in her chest.
"Come on, Lux, let's get you out of here." Garen spoke walking to the door and Lux followed him. The two walked as silently as possible down the hallway until Lux felt a familiar shiver and an excruciating pain run through her body making her scream. "Lux?!" Garen approached worriedly.
Lux couldn't answer, the pain that went through her was too great the only thing she could do was scream.
"Damn it Lux, I don't know what your soulmate is doing right now, but we don't have time for this, sister." Garen picked her up and put her backpack on his back and ran, trying to avoid the most populated areas of the palace, praying to all the Aspects that no one would hear Lux's screams.
Lux didn't know what to feel, on one hand she felt that shiver, her soulmate was back, she doesn't know how but they were and on the other hand this pain was too much, too much for three souls to bear and definitely too much for one person to bear, whatever or whoever was hurting her soulmate would die, Lux would make sure of that.
Amidest her screams and pain she noticed Garen putting her in a carriage with the fastest horses of the Crownguard, one of them being her precious Starfire, and ordered her to be taken to the Cabin where she now finds herself.
The journey to the cabin was agonizing, she was alone without her brother to support her, only with a coachman she didn't know and the pain of losing her soulmate several times for the next hours of anguish and pain but when the bond finally stabilized again Lux was the happiest person in the world and then her halves were reunited and despite some turbulence that had occurred, they now seemed calmer although Joy was still a little worried.
~★~
Lux was taken from her thoughts by knocks on the cabin door.
"Lux?" The blonde heard her brother's voice echo outside the cabin. "Lux, it's me! I have... I have news." Lux took a deep breath, trying to gather energy for whatever happened next.
"I'm coming, Gah." The girl responded by standing up and walking to the door. Lux opened the door calmly, expecting to find only Garen on the other side, but was quickly surprised. "Aunt Tianna..." The blonde murmured tensely as her aunt assessed her from top to bottom.
"Don't be so tense, Luxanna," her aunt said, noticing the tension in the younger girl's shoulders. "I'm not here to arrest you or anything like that, in fact we came to escort you."
"Escort me?" Lux asked, arching her eyebrow.
"We... We will escort you out of Demacia." Garen said, lowering his gaze. "Prince Jarvan had mercy on his childhood friend's sister and accepted the exile."
"You are forbidden from setting foot in Demacia again and will no longer answer to the Crownguard family name." Tianna spoke firmly, "We will take you to the border or to a port, I will give you the choice, where you will leave Demacia and never return. We will escort you to ensure that you do not hurt anyone for any kind of grudge you may be holding." Tianna spoke, staring deeply at Lux who, to her credit, held her aunt's gaze.
"Alright, I have no problem with that. Whether you escort me or not, I do not plan on hurting anyone." Lux replied. "Just let me pack what I have here and we will leave." Tianna stared at Lux for a moment and then nodded.
Lux went back inside, sighing and trying to relax, her soulmates were worried about her discomfort and apprehension, she tried to convey that everything was fine through the Bond as she packed her things, fortunately she did not have much with her and she had taken almost nothing out of her backpack besides some clothes and personal hygiene items. Adjusting her backpack on her back and letting out a long sigh, Lux headed for the entrance where Garen and her Aunt were waiting, standing on horses.
"I'm ready." Lux announced.
"Great, let's get you out of Demacia." Her aunt said, climbing onto a horse without waiting for an answer.
"Harbor or Border, Lux?" Her brother asked, climbing onto his horse and helping her climb behind him.
After a short moment of pondering the options, Lux decided.
"Harbor." The fastest one answered and the older ones nodded and soon they were on the move.
Please wait for me, my halves, I'm on my way.

Piltover
Jinx gasped as she showered, feeling the warm, clean water run down her body, what was that? Had she heard the bond? It wasn't possible, right? Silco had always said that their bond was very strong because so many feelings and pains were transmitted through it, whether those feelings were intense or not, but this time what she felt wasn't exactly a feeling... Was it? No, it wasn't, Jinx has felt many feelings through the Bond, she is familiar with them, even in her worst moments she knows exactly what and how a feeling from one of her soulmates comes from and this wasn't a feeling.
It was almost like hearing a sentence, a small whisper, almost inaudible but it was still there, a guarantee that their third half was coming to them.
Was it possible that it was another voice? Well, it was certainly possible but she hadn't been listening to them since Seraphine had undone her braids, assuming that the loving touch on her hair and all the care the girl had taken when undoing her braids had calmed her mind and well, she really wasn't seeing anything just... Just that strange thing that she thinks came from the bond, but she can't be trusted so maybe she should ask Seraphine? Yes, maybe she should.
Stepping out of the shower and drying herself the girl looked at herself in the full-length mirror in the bathroom. Scars of different shapes and sizes present on her body, cloud tattoos on the right side of her body, huge, tangled and loose hair, wet bangs spread across her face, thin and slender body showing a clear lack of nutrition, arms and legs somewhat disproportionate to the rest of her body, perhaps longer than they should be (Jinx was no genius in biology but she had the strong impression that she should be taller than she currently is and probably would be if she had taken care of her diet as Silco had instructed years ago, well, there is no point in crying over spilled milk now), deep dark circles under her eyes that were once blue and now pink.
Overall, she looked like a walking corpse.
"Are you sure you are not one?"
Jinx heard Mylo talking from the other side of the bathroom
"Uh, I thought you were being too quiet." Jinx said as she dried herself. "I knew my peace wouldn't last long."
"You didn't answer the question."
"Well, my soulmate on the other side of the door seems fine enough with my presence and seems to sense me, so I'm probably not one, unlike you." She stared at the scrawl resembling her former brother standing in the corner of the bathroom. "Oh sorry, you're not even a corpse." She replied with a sarcastic tone.
"Oh right, your soulmate senses you, I wish mine could sense me."
"You never had one, idiot." Jinx rolled her eyes.
"Thank you! Because of you I never got to experience the feeling of having a half! You stole that from me, because that's what you always do! You ruin everything! Work, soulmates, Silco's plan! Isn't that right, Claggor?"
"Yeah, I never got to have that because of you either, Jinx."
"Oh shut up you two idiots, I have more important things to do than worry about you idiots." Jinx gave them both the middle finger.
"Heart? Are you okay?" Jinx heard Seraphine's voice on the other side of the door. "There's an uncomfortable feeling in the back of my head, some kind of pressure, I feel it sometimes, it's coming from you. Is something wrong? You're uncomfortable."
Can Seraphine feel when voices talk to me? Well, that's going to be a problem.
"I'm fine, just... Processing everything that happened today... I guess..." Jinx said and Seraphine was quiet for a while.
"Okay, call me if you have any questions, okay?" Obviously Seraphine knows that Jinx is lying, she just doesn't want to pressure the girl.
"Sure, I'm leaving the bathroom soon" Jinx said as she finished getting dressed, looking in the mirror again she assessed how Serpahine's clothes looked on her, ignoring the two scribbles that had been irritating her before.
A dark blue shirt that was a little big on her body, Seraphine was a bit bigger than her which wasn't surprising but slightly revolting, Why was Jinx always the smallest? Maybe she really should have eaten properly when Silco told her to. The shirt reached her thighs, it wasn't the ideal size but it fit and a pair of Seraphine's old shorts that were tight on her now but fit Jinx.
Jinx had nothing to complain about the clothes, they were comfortable and smelled good, much better than the ones she wore before even jumping into the sewer, Seraphine said she would put her clothes in the wash and tomorrow she could get them back so Jinx didn't mind leaving the clothes in the pink-haired girl's hand.
Leaving the bathroom and going straight to the bedroom Jinx found Seraphine sitting at the vanity combing her own hair, which was quite long and beautiful. Pink with purple tips, this was uncommon in Piltover and much more common in Zaun, all the chemicals in Zaun resulted in genetic mutations in several people down there. Hair was probably the most common thing to be altered and also the least relevant, Jinx had seen a child with 3 arms once.
"Come here." Seraphine said as she got up from the chair and Jinx approached. "You can sit down, I'm done fixing my hair." She said as she tied her hair into a ponytail.
Without questioning Jinx sat in the chair and watched as Seraphine grabbed a comb, brush and hair cream and positioned herself behind her, separating some strands of her hair and grabbing a hair dryer, Jinx had one of those in Silco's office, neither of them had the patience to wait for her hair to dry so he made sure they had one for when he braided her hair.
"When we're done with your hair I'll get us something to eat." Seraphine announced and Jinx nodded. "Do you want to talk? Maybe ask me questions while I comb your hair? We can get to know each other better?" She asked as she turned on the dryer. Jinx realized that the girl really wanted to talk to her, so she decided to cooperate.
"Is your hair natural?" Jinx asked curiously. Pilties shouldn't have hair that color.
"Oh no, it's not. Actually, my hair is brown, just like my dad's. I've been dyeing my hair for a long time. I just think that pink is my color and I like the contrast with the purple at the ends." The girl replied. "And well, besides liking the colors, it makes me feel more... I don't know, Zaunite? That's what they call it down there, isn't it? You know, I know it may seem ungrateful, but sometimes I feel like I'd rather live in the Undercity, or at least on the border between the two cities." Seraphine said, and Jinx made a confused expression. What kind of piltie would like to live in Zaun?
"What do you mean? I've never seen a piltie say they'd rather live in Zaun." Jinx said, making contact with the pink girl through the mirror.
"Well, my parents are Zaunites, they moved to Piltover before I was born, trying to give me a better life." Seraphine said and Jinx was a little surprised, she didn't imagine that her soulmate's parents had the same origins as her. "But despite their intentions of giving me a better life than theirs, I never really felt comfortable in Piltover, even though it's my home, I always noticed... Well, I always knew that neither my parents nor I are very welcome here, we live near the center of Piltover because of my parents' workshop, we make and repair instruments and radios." That caught Jinx's attention "But living so close to the center only makes it more evident that we are not welcome here."
"Hmm... Were you the one who made the instruments here?" Jinx asked.
"Just the guitar, actually, it was the first instrument I made. I made a few more but they were sold, I wanted to keep the guitar because it was the first." Seraphine smiled watching Jinx analyze the guitar leaning against the wall.
"Do you like making things? Instruments, in this case." Jinx asked looking at Seraphine in the mirror.
"Yes, quite a lot actually. It's when I can turn my mind off of everything around me, I especially like guitars because although they take time, they're also not the hardest thing to make and I can just focus on making it and forget about the world around me." Seraphine explained and noticed a bit of admiration coming from Jinx.
"I like making weapons..." Jinx said excitedly but a little apprehensively.
"Oh, were you the one who made that shark-shaped weapon?" Seraphine asked remembering the uniquely designed weapon.
"Yes! It name is Fishbones!" Jinx said more excitedly this time.
"What's that jewel you took from Fishbones?" Seraphine asked remembering the blue jewel
"Oh, that's a Hextech Gem... Wait, I left the Hextech in my pants! Have you washed it yet?" Jinx made to get up but Seraphine put her hand on her shoulder.
"Calm down, I put it in my bedside drawer." Seraphine informed. "I didn't know Hextech Gems were like that, I have one in my hearing aid."
"Do you have hearing problems?" Jinx asked curiously, she had already noticed Seraphine's hearing aid but didn't imagine it was a Hextech device and was afraid to ask, normally she wouldn't care at all but it seemed rude to ask her soulmate that so soon after they met.
"Not really. I have a rare condition but I'm not deaf. I just... Well, it's complicated to explain, but I hear people's souls." Seraphine said, leaving Jinx confused. "Yeah, it's not normal, my parents' guess is that it's magic, but Piltover, despite Hextech, has a very shallow knowledge of Magic, so I really have no idea how to control it no matter how hard I try. Which resulted in me needing this device because in public places, too much music inside my head can be very oppressive." Seraphine explained, watching Jinx think and feeling her confusion turn into curiosity.
"So you're a mage, right?" Jinx asked.
"I believe so, my father had contact with one of the Hextech creators, his name is Viktor and he comes from Undercity. He researched it with the resources of Piltover's academy, apparently I'm an empath. But according to him, my power is really strong because I can hear souls and even feelings with such intensity and my parents said that sometimes, when I sing, I end up influencing their feelings. It depends on what I'm feeling at the time." Seraphine explained.
"Wow, that's amazing." Jinx spoke genuinely impressed, she had no idea that her soulmate could be a mage.
"Can I ask you a question, Jinx? More than one actually." Seraphine said starting to braid the right side of Jinx's hair. She combed it very quickly, probably used to combing her own hair which is quite long and voluminous.
Jinx didn't answer right away, feeling the girl slightly apprehensive and worried, but after a moment she decided to nod.
"If the questions bother you you can just not answer, okay?" Jinx nodded again. "What do you do for a living? I mean I'm assuming you had a job and it wasn't just building weapons."
"I worked for my father, I don't work making weapons because I don't like to share my creations, but I made an arm for a woman, the second in command, I was like... It doesn't sound nice saying it like this, but I was like a weapon for my father. My father was a businessman while me and Sevika, the woman on the arm, did the dirty work so to speak. We eliminated gangs that got in the way of my father's business, we protected shipments of products for dad..." Jinx felt Seraphine getting uncomfortable the more she talked. "I know it sounds like shit, but it wasn't. My father wasn't a good man, I don't have that illusion, I know he was a bad man but he... He really was a good father, he took care of me when I needed him, he took care of my hair, braided my hair, he bought me gifts, he encouraged me to create things, not only weapons but many things, he never forced me to give up my creations to strengthen his gang, he slept with me when I had nightmares, he... He didn't hand me over to Piltover..." Jinx spoke, her voice slowly fading, unable to control it and letting a few stubborn tears fall.
"Hand you over to Piltover?" Seraphine asked, stopping to comb Jinx's hair.
"Hm... Yes, Pilties tried to make a deal with my father... Make Zaun an independent nation and in exchange he would have to hand me over." Jinx spoke, feeling Seraphine's horror.
"What?!" Seraphine's shock made Jinx laugh.
"I don't think you understand how dangerous I am, Pinky. I've blown up many buildings in Piltover, I've killed many people from both Piltover and Zaun, I just blew up the council. Piltover wants to lock me in the darkest and deepest cell in Stillwater, Seraphine. Actually, maybe not even that, after blowing up the council I'm probably a case for execution now." Jinx turned to Seraphine, feeling the girl's fear. "Scared, aren't you? Did you finally realize who your soulmate is?" Jinx asked bitterly, this brought Seraphine back to the present.
"Jinx, do you think I'm afraid of you?" Seraphine asked, taking the blue-haired girl's face in her hands, feeling that they both needed contact.
"You should." Jinx said, staring at the girl without blinking.
"Jinx, I'm not afraid of you. You're my soulmate. I already told you that I won't leave you. No matter what you did, you're a part of me. So no, I'm not afraid of you. My fear is losing you. That one day Piltover will be able to get their hands on you. That's my fear." Seraphine said, caressing the girl's face, feeling the emotions running through the girl.
"I really can't be around you." Jinx said and stepped back from the touch in her face, feeling Seraphine get hurt by both her words and her distance. Seraphine's sadness seemed to catch the attention of their other half, who was now worried. "You're too sweet. I'll end up loving you and that's not good, Pinky."
"How would that not be good?" Seraphine asked, confused.
"I'm a Jinx, Pinky. A walking curse, I already said that." Jinx looked at the girl again. "Do you want to know how my father died? I killed him." Jinx spoke, feeling Seraphine's confusion triple.
"What...? Why? You speak of him so fondly." Seraphine couldn't understand this, Jinx clearly loves her father, why would she kill him?
"Isn't the answer obvious? Everyone who gets too close to me dies, pinky. I don't want to risk hurting you or our other half, I can't be around you. Look, if I leave now it won't hurt, you haven't gotten attached to me yet, you can go find our other half and you both can live well without me" Jinx spoke, standing up from the chair without caring if her braids were ready or not.
"No!" Seraphine threw herself forward, grabbing the girl's hand. "I won't let you go! I told you you won't get rid of me!" Seraphine spoke firmly.
"You're stubborn! Please, I just don't want to hurt you. It'll be better for the three of us." Jinx said angrily.
"I've already lost you once. I'm not going to lose you again. You're not leaving. Especially with Piltover hunting you." Seraphine said seriously. "If I have to learn how to fight, shoot, control my magic or whatever it takes to keep you safe, I'll do it. If I have to face all of Piltover alone so they don't touch you, then I will! It's really stupid of you to dare say that it won't hurt if you leave me, when even before I met you I already felt that you were one of the two most important things in my life. It's even more stupid to say that when you can feel everything I feel." Seraphine said and Jinx bit her lower lip, very aware of how hurt the girl was.
"But I..." Jinx tried to start talking but the other girl didn't let her.
"Jinx, if I have to tie you to my damn bed, I will. You'll stay, whether you like it or not." Seraphine said, making Jinx laugh.
"It's funny you should say that to me when I'm the biggest terrorist in Piltover and Zaun and you can't even shoot." Jinx said, laughing, and Seraphine shrugged.
"It's not like you'd hurt me if I tried to tie you up. It's both because you don't want to hurt me and because you want to stay. I feel what you feel, don't try to deny it." Seraphine said, and Jinx pouted.
"This feeling thing isn't fair sometimes..." Jinx said sullenly.
"Well, I think it's fair enough. Now, get back to your chair. I have to finish your hair." Seraphine pulled Jinx back to her chair.
"I don't want to jinx you, Pinky." Jinx said, sitting down but still reluctant to stay
"You won't jinx me because you're not a jinx, you are not a curse. I don't know who or what made you believe that, but you're not." Seraphine replied calmly, going back to combing Jinx's hair
"My sister." Jinx replied, feeling Instantly anger flood Seraphine.
"Did your sister tell you that you're a jinx?" Seraphine asked angrily. Jinx just nodded. "Well, your sister is an idiot." She grumbled, causing Jinx to laugh softly.
And they call me crazy... I think it's because they've never met my soulmate. Is the other one crazy too? I hope not, someone has to be sane in this trio.

Demacia
Garen watched Lux as they rode, his sister making a confused face, something related to her soulmate for sure. Lux has always had a very strong bond with her soulmates, even without having met them. Garen knew that the three of them would love each other more than could be considered humanly possible. Or both of them now. He still doesn't quite understand if Lux really lost her soulmate or if it was just a scare.
The day her magic leaked during dinner Lux was absolutely devastated, he could see that a part of her was missing, his little sister seemed a little empty when she woke up from her fainting. But now she seems better, it relieves him but raises some questions. His sister shouldn't be so well after losing a soulmate when their bond was so deep, maybe Lux was trying to hide the pain? No, she really does seem fine, that's strange.
He was so worried when Lux started screaming as they tried to escape, he's lucky that all the servants loved Lux so none of them alerted their parents that he had escaped with Lux. She was always so kind to all of them and even tried to help them with some tasks, a heart of gold, everyone who knew Lux loved her.
Except their parents. Which says a lot about Demacian nobility. You can have the perfect daughter but the moment something goes wrong she is the biggest disappointment to her family. Garen had never been so angry with Pieter and Augatha Crownguard in his entire life.
~★~
Garen had just put Lux to bed at his aunt's command and when he went back down to the dining room to find his family shaken by what had happened, his father was sitting in one of the chairs at the dining table with his hand on his face, his mother was standing in the same place as before, probably still not processing what had just happened.
Aunt Tianna was sitting at one of the tables too, trying to keep her composure, Garen could tell by the small nervous tic in her eye, she was thinking too much.
No one spoke for a few minutes, everyone processing what had just happened, everyone thinking what to do now that it was revealed that there is a mage in the family.
"Luxanna is a mage." His mother stated what was already obvious. "How... How did this happen? Where did I go wrong in raising her?"
"Mom, this is not her fault, no one chooses to be born with the disease of magic." Garen spoke trying to calm his mother.
"This must be a punishment for some sin of Luxanna's? Maybe even a punishment for a sin of her soulmates. I never liked them, always causing trouble" Pieter spoke, anyone would think he was calm in this situation, Garen could see his anger showing in his tone.
"Let's call the Mageseekers." Augatha declared.
"What?! Call the Mageseekers for Lux? She's your daughter! My sister!" Garen raised his voice
"She's a mage, Garen! And lower your voice when you talk to me!" His mother shouted back.
"Calm down." His aunt, until then quiet, finally spoke. "We're not going to call the Mageseekers for Lux. Not now." She declared, Augatha tried to protest but before she could even make a sound her aunt spoke again. "Garen, get out. I'll have a conversation with your parents based on logic, you're not fit to participate in it because your protective feelings towards your sister would get in the way." His aunt said, staring at him intensely.
Garen understood perfectly what his aunt wanted, she was giving him the chance to disappear with Lux if she couldn't convince his parents not to call the Mageseekers now and that was exactly what Garen did.
~★~
Just remembering how his parents were ready to hand over his sister fills Garen with rage. He's not the best brother in the world and his family isn't the most united, but he expected them to at least hesitate to hand over one of their own to the Mageseekers knowing how cruel they are.
They were lucky that Eldred couldn't attend the dinner, he would hardly have made things easier, the news of Lux being a mage will probably only reach him when Lux is already out of Demacia and then it will be a problem for his aunt to deal with.
Aunt Tianna may not be the most caring woman in the world and may be helping Lux only because she doesn't want to tarnish the family name if someone finds out that Lux is a mage, but she still didn't try to kill Lux or hand her over to the Mageseekers and that means the world to Garen, he wouldn't be able to convince Prince Jarvan to spare Lux alone, Tianna's support was invaluable in getting Lux exiled.
Furthermore, she hid from everyone that Lux was a mage for years. Although the effort proved futile in the end Garen will always be grateful for this. At least it gave Lux enough time to grow up and become capable of taking care of herself, he would hate for the secret to be exposed when she was still so young and needed someone to protect her.
He wasn't happy at all about expelling his little sister from her family and from Demacia, but at least Lux would be free to do what she always dreamed of, which was finding her soulmate. Garen had to admit to being a little jealous.
Garen loves serving Demacia, he loves his country, but he knows freedom is a luxury that he, as a Crownguard, never had the right to enjoy. But he is happy for his sister. More than anyone, Lux deserves to be happy. It doesn't matter if she is a mage or not, she is still Lux, she is still his sister, and she has never hurt anyone with her magic over the years. She is a good person regardless of the magic she carries.
Garen has never said it out loud, but he has a deep desire to find his soulmate, despite not having a bond as strong as his sister's and despite knowing that she is in the worst possible place. A Noxian soulmate is the last thing he needed or wanted, but for the past year and a few months he has had one and he must admit that it is nice to have a bond with someone.
Sometimes Garen struggles to understand what his soulmate is feeling, Lux has a great ability with this and Garen admires her for it because it is harder than it seems. He knows his soulmate is a warrior if the pain that does not come from him is any indication.
One of his fears is meeting them during the war, it would not be a good first meeting for soulmates and his other fear is losing them before he even knows who they are or maybe it is worse to lose them after he already knows who they are. So at this moment, he can't help but feel a little envious of his sister for the imminent freedom she will enjoy to finally be with her soulmates.
Looking back at his sister, Garen noticed that she seemed focused on the path ahead, but he knew that she was stuck in her head, paying attention to the feelings transmitted by her other half. Lux kept making some faces along the way but she seems fine so Garen takes this as a good sign, he really hopes she manages to find her soulmate when she leaves Demacia.
Notes:
About Tianna not caring that Lux is a mage: I haven't read Lux's comics and I intend to correct that BUT in LoR Tianna says that she doesn't care that Lux is a mage but she won't allow her to tarnish the family name and even though I haven't read the comics, I know that Tianna and Garen hid Lux's secret so that no one would find out, I just adapted it to fit here. And on top of that I didn't want to make this about Demacia so without Lux meeting Sylas and without revolution here.
I hope you enjoyed it, the chapter is a little shorter than I would like but I hope you enjoyed it. So I wasn't going to post today but I decided to take some time to write soon because it was taking too long to update. What do you think of Seraphine in this chapter? What are your hopes for Seraphine interacting with Vi? I've been thinking about it, it'll be a fun thing to write about later.
Off Topic: Today (January 10th) is my birthday! So I decided to post today as a little gift for you.
Question: If I told you my Twitter here, would you follow me and interact with me on Twitter? We could talk about the Fanfic there, as well as talk about some other things too. On my twitter I talk mainly about lol (mainly Lightcannon), Honkai Star Rail, Brazilian Streamers and Ordem Paranormal (An Brazilian RPG) and of course other things too like personal life, Wednesday, animes and others things but it's mainly these 4 topics. You could use your native language to interact with me, it would be good for me to practice some languages.
And thank you again for all the love you're giving to this Fanfic. See you in the next chapter!
