Work Text:

“There’s so much paperwork to do…” Elias let out as he entered the living room, thumping a stack of papers onto the desk. “I didn’t know this process would be so…. Involved.”

“It doesn’t all have to be perfect, you know?” Chise said softly, putting down her own stack of written letters on the table, and sitting upright from the sofa.

Elias was quiet for a second. “Yes it does. Of course it does.” He murmured quietly, having been away for much of the day. “I’ve never been great with the normal human festivities so I just… want this to be done right.” He sighed.

Chise stood up. “Who says you haven’t done great before?” She asked rhetorically, loving his way of doing anything.

“I know you may think that but it has to be perfect otherwise-“ He quickly mumbled, before being caught off guard by a hand caressing his jaw, and an armed being laid across his shoulders.

“Relax, honey.” She said gently, leaning her whole body against him. Almost instantly, his incredibly stiff shoulders loosened, and he breathed deeply.

“…Thank you, I think I needed that.” He said quietly, nudging his jaw against her hand.

Chise chuckled at the calm giant. “I could see you were spiralling a bit.” She said jokingly, as her hand played with the base of his horn.

Elias chuckled back. “Something I would be quite concerned with someone noticing-“ He paused, turning around and bending down to face his bride. “If I didn’t admire you so much.” He finished, pressing his skull against her forehead, before slowly sliding it down until his skull laid flat against her face.

They stayed like that for a few moments in silence, simply enjoying each other’s presence.

Chise felt happy that she could get her love to relax, at least in the moment. “The ceremony will be wonderful. Everyone invited will be happy. Everything will work out great, and even if something goes wrong, we can fix it.” She whispered, encouraging him further.

Elias’ lights for eyes flickered. “How can you… be so sure?” He asked, still so worried about all the things that can possibly go wrong.

She locked eyes with him. “Because I will spend the whole day with you, and so it can be nothing but incredible either way.” She told him, a bright smile across her face.

Elias again paused, before taking his bride into a hug, which she happily returned. His jaw laid along her back, while she nuzzled into his neck.

“Mmm. When you put it like that I imagine I’ll enjoy it as well.” He said quietly, feeling more focused on the hug itself. He hummed out a chuckle. “I just had no idea getting married was such a big project.” He added, slightly complaining but not really. Chise in response simply took a deeper breath while still deep in her soon-to-be husband’s neck, and hugged him harder.

Notes:

Hey this was just a little something I scribbled out while dealing with an anxiety attack and I thought it was kinda cute so decided to post it, I definitely use scenarios of these characters being cute as coping mechanisms haha
