“This girl…” Tsukasa murmured to himself, patting Emu’s head with a wet towel.
The previous day, the four Wonderlands x Showtime members played in the snow, courtesy of Emu herself. Unfortunately, she got sick, and because Nene and Rui were horrible at taking care of themselves as it was, Tsukasa vowed to take care of her.
“She doesn’t have a high fever anymore, ate an hour ago, took medicine, and had plenty of water… She's okay for now,” he recalled, sighing in relief.
Somehow, recalling those facts made him feel relieved.
Suddenly, Emu’s eyes fluttered open, sleepily gazing at the ceiling. “Hweh?” She mumbled.
Tsukasa had already adjusted the lights in case she did wake up. “Good morning, dear. How are you feeling?” he asked her. It was currently 9pm, which was not considered morning in any circumstance, but he could care less about the details right now.
“Better? I don’t feel as bleh as earlier, which is wonderhoy!” She replied, turning to face him properly.
The star panicked, adjusting the towel on her head before it fell off. “Don’t move so quickly, there’s a towel on your head,” he quietly scolded her.
“That’s what that was! Pfft, it’s cold!” Emu chuckled as she touched said towel.
“Well yeah, it’s supposed to be,” Tsukasa dumbfoundedly replied. Classic fever delirium. “At least you’re feeling better.”
“Mhm! I’ll be back to Emu in no time!”
Some time passed, the girl’s eyes darting around the room before pink met orange-yellow again. “Y’know Tsukasa-kun? I had a dream about you,” she said suddenly.
“Really? What was it about?” he responded.
“Everyone was setting up Christmas decorations at Wonder Stage, and Rui-kun had the idea to make a human Christmas tree!”
“Wait, what?-”
“Th-Then, we set it up! I was that, uh, scarf thingy, on the bottom. Rui-kun was the tree, because he’s, like, super tall and everything, Nene-chan was the decoration, and she got hugged by Rui-kun, which, kind of jealous honestly…”
“Rui’s hugs are…something.”
“And you were the star on top of the tree, and you were super sparkly!”
“Of course, as expected of a future star- WAIT, NOT THAT KIND OF STAR!”
“Ehehe, that’s exactly what you said in the dream! You made us go back to decorating because you wanted us to “stop being idiots”, whatever that meant. Then, you smiled, like star bright! It was a really nice dream.”
He sighed fondly. “Your dreams are truly something else, Emu.”
She chuckled. “You’re doing that thing again Tsukasa-kun!”
“What?”
“The weird smile again.” Fever delirium was hitting her hard if she couldn’t tell which smiles were real or fake.
Tsukasa scoffed. ”I care about you and Wonderlands x Showtime a lot, that’s all. You should probably get some rest, I’ll be right here if you need me.”
Emu pouted. “But I’ve been resting all day!”
“You’ll be over your fever if you rest longer. You want to get better, right?” the star crossed his arms.
“Mhm…but I don’t mind being sick, I guess it’s because you’re here?”
The other felt his face getting warm. Why was Emu so good at persuasion? “I-I’ll be here whether you’re sick or not. Get some rest, please?”
Emu relented. “Fine~! But, can you stay until I fall asleep?”
Tsukasa sighed once again. “I was planning to do so already.” The dreamer adjusted her position, finding a comfortable position to sleep in.
“Goodnight, Tsukasa-kun~” she sleepily greeted as her mind slowly drifted to sleep.
Reaching for Emu’s nightstand, Tsukasa grabbed a box. It was a box of cooling pads, usable for any part of the body. He would replace the now-warm towel on the girl’s head with one of the pads so he could get some rest of his own. Removing the plastic film, Tsukasa placed the pad on Emu’s forehead, the other wincing slightly before settling down.
Before he knew it, he had put his hand in hers. “Rest well, Emu,” he whispered, kissing her cheek.
2 am was the next time he needed to wake up in order to give her medicine, in case she needed it. Until then, he could manage to get some rest.
Hands still intertwined, Tsukasa laid his head on the edge of the bed, slowly drifting off to sleep as well.
(He didn’t wake up then. Emu was better in the morning.)

“So, that was the only interesting thing that happened,” Tsukasa concluded.
“My, Emu has wonderful dreams!” Rui joked.
“Even if it was you being a tree?” Nene replied, giving him a look.
“It meant I got to hug you, didn’t it?”
“Geh..”
Emu left her room, walking to the three of them. “Good wonderhoy! O-Oh yeah, I dreamt about you guys last night!”
“Yeah, we know,” the three of them responded.
“Seriously?! So cool! Are you all, like, super cool mind readers or something?!” She exclaimed excitedly.
R: “She has no clue what happened yesterday, doesn’t she?”
T: “I’ll take that answer as a no.”
N: “Christmas tree dream, may it forever live in Tsukasa’s memory and haunt him until he dies.”
T: “Huh?!”
