Sugar and more sugar and even more sugar

Summary:

Jinx has a tendency to burn marshmallows

Notes:

Merry Christmas! This is kinda Christmas themed, right? Roasting marshmallows is Christmasy, isn’t it?

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“Why does everything I love burn?”

“Jinx, that’s a marshmallow.”

“He was so young,” Jinx said sadly, before chomping down. “Damn, I feel all dizzy.”

“Yeah?” Ekko asked, roasting his own. “How many of those did you have?”

“Twenty-eight.”

“No shit you feel dizzy.”

“I bet I can make it to fifty without passing out.”

“Okay,” Ekko said. “But let me roast them this time. You just set them on fire.”

“I like them all black and gooey.”

“That’s disgusting,” Ekko sighed. “A good marshmallow is a light brown. Watch and learn.”

“You say that like you didn’t go back in time twice to keep it from burning.”

“Hey!” Ekko said, offended. “I only went back once.”

“That’s cheating.”

“They’re marshmallows, dumbass. You can’t cheat at roasting marshmallows. Here, try one.”

Jinx took one of his lightly toasted marshmallows and shoved in her mouth.

“Wow, you’re right. This is so much better.”

Then she proceeded to throw up on his shoes.

“Seriously?”

“New record?” She said smiling nervously.

“I’m not kissing you tonight.”

“Yeah…that’s fair. I’m going to eat some more, because I’m incapable of learning from my mistakes.”

Notes:

Anyone who says burnt marshmallows are better hasn’t had a good evenly roasted marshmallow imo
