Xisuma didn't have much planned today, head into the shopping district, get some building supplies, fix some things around his base, and fix a few glitches that had popped up; nothing too big.
He strapped his elytra to his back, and fired off a firework, leaping into the sky. Stumbling a bit as he landed, he made his way over to the first shop he needed to head to, just restocking some fireworks, as he was too lazy to make more. He went to Xb's food store, pulling out some diamonds to pay for some golden carrots. Again, he didn't need to buy them from Xb, but he had been busy lately.
Suddenly, a flaming arrow shot past him, just narrowly missing his skull. He whipped his head around, just in time to see a figure flying past.
"HOT GU- DANG IT, I MISSED!" The admin could hear in the distance.
He rolled his eyes, at this point used to Scar's antics.
He pulled out his elytra and strapped it back on. Planning to ignore Scar, he fired off a firework, and soared into the sky! For whatever reason, he loved flying. He never had a good reason, it was just so peaceful, and calm, and he loved flying through the clouds, and why was he suddenly plummeting to the ground!?!?
Not good.
Not good!
NOT GOOD!
He flailed around in the air, searching through his inventory. Why did he have to empty his inventory before shopping? He wasn't any good at clutching, but still! The ground seemed to be speeding up, he had a few seconds at best.
He could vaguely see somebody else flying nearby, who was that? He was falling too fast to tell.
A bolt of sickening pain shot through his body. He felt as if every bone in his body had shattered. Black spots danced across his vision, his breathing turned ragged.
The air...suddenly tasted polluted, wrong, vile... Even if his lungs collapsed, air shouldn't be like this...Not Void air at least.
Oh, o-oh dear, he wasn't breathing his filtered Void air, was he? His eyes shot everywhere, taking in every detail he could make out. His purple visor was shattered, he was in a pool of blood, and he couldn't breathe. Great!
He finally felt as the pain began to subside, and so was his consciousness.
<Xisuma suffocated>
<Pearlescentmoon> U gud?
<Grian> Oof
<Goodtimewithscar> Uh oh, are you okay???
<Goodtimewithscar> WAS THAT MY FAULT???
Xisuma woke up in extreme pain, his lungs screaming at him for void air. He was in his bed, in his base, why was he still breathing overworld air??
Damnit... He thought, remembering how his purifier had broken the day before. Great, just great! The timing was just impeccable.
He threw himself off his bed, trying to crawl to his ender chest on the other side of his room for his only spare (and functional) helmet.
<Xisuma suffocated>
<Docm77> X are you okay?
<Goodtimewithscar> OH NOTHCH
<Goodtimewithscar> ARE YOU OKAY XISMA WHERE AER YUO?????
This time was worse than the first, his entire body felt like it was on fire. Both from falling to his near death, and dying from the overworld air.
He felt like he had swallowed acid; his throat was destroyed, and dryer than a desert. He again rolled onto the floor, trying to crawl to his ender chest for his spare helmet.
<Xisuma suffocated>
He woke up, tears stinging his eyes. He rolled over, not having the strength to try to get to his ender chest. He took a deep, stinging breath, and tried to hold it for as long as he could, not wanting for the overworld air to burn him more.
He heard his communicator go off, again, and again, but without the strength to even breathe, he left it. Tears were rolling down his face, he didn't have the will to stop them, his cheeks soaked.
Xisuma blindly reached for his communicator, trying to type a message before he felt his life slip away again.
<Xisuma> hekp
<Xisuma suffocated>
<Docm77> X Where are you?? I'm on my way.
<Goodtimewithscar> OMW, X
<Keralis> Shash are you at the base? I'll be there soon!
This wasn't good... Xisuma had just suffocated four times in a row, and Keralis had just run out of fireworks.
Still, he wanted to be there for Xisuma, so he started running. His communicator had pinged about 5-7 times while he ran, and when he got there Scar and Doc were already arriving.
"Shashwhammy are you here?!" He yelled, running to the bedroom, Scar and Doc following him, having not known the way.
The three burst into the room, to find Xisuma respawning in the bed, the visor of his helmet shattered, shards of glass in his skin, and tears pouring down his face.
"Oh notch, oh notch, oh notch oh notch!!" Keralis mumbled, running up to Xisuma. "X, where is your spare!?" He asked, panicked.
"E-..." Xisuma mumbled, his voice raspy and pained. "End...chest..."
"Either of you have one??" Keralis turned to Doc and Scar, not wanting to have to move the one from the other side of the room.
"No." They both replied, almost in unison.
"Doc, grab that one." Keralis pointed to the end chest at the opposite end of the room, as he began unclasping Xisuma's broken helmet.
Xisuma gasped in pain, tightening his grip on Keralis' hand and going rigid.
<Xisuma suffocated>
Xisuma had lost track of how many times he died, he had only been vaguely aware of...somebody, or some people (He wasn't sure) entering the room, and asking something about his spare helmet? He thinks he told them, did he?
He felt as his broken helmet was pulled off his head, and then it all went blank again.
He was leaning against something somewhat soft, and warm. It felt nice...familiar.
Whatever he was leaning against, smelled calming, like vanilla perhaps? It was also nice.
He felt as warm...hands? Yeah, that's what those were... He felt as warm hands lifted his head up, and something was placed on his head. It smelled like metal, and the padding was rough.
Soon, he heard...something. What was that noise? It made a sucking noise, suctioning?
At last, the air around his face felt colder, and nice. He gasped, trying to breath in as much void air as possible, and promptly started having a coughing fit.
". . . t's okay, Shashy, breathe...." He began to be able to make out the words. Who was speaking? The voice made him feel safe, at home. Keralis maybe? He didnt really care who it was, he just knew he could breathe again.
Xisuma went limp against Keralis, this time not due to dying, but because he could finally relax. He was exhausted, nobody tells you how exhausting it is to die more than five times in a row.
Sometime later, Xisuma woke up in his bed, resting against Keralis. While he was still in intense pain - Both from his earlier fall, his visor shattering and raining glass onto his face, and his lungs nearly being destroyed - He was much better than earlier, at the very least he was coherent.
"Hey, sweetheart. Are you alright?" Keralis asked once he noticed X had woken up.
"I..." He attempted to speak, before giving up due to his injured lungs, face and throat. "Mhm.." He nodded.
"Doc offered to fix the air purifier for the room, he said he's almost done." Keralis spoke.
Suddenly, Xisuma's attention was brought to his face, which was currently bleeding, and being stabbed with multiple shards of purple glass from his broken visor. He let out a pained hiss, as he went to grab at his face, promptly forgetting about his helmet.
"Oh, right. I'm sorry X, we couldn't safely remove the glass and give you stitching without you suffocating, that's why Doc is working to fix the air purifier. I know, it must hurt, it won't be for long though." Keralis said, hugging Xisuma tightly, feeling useless to help.
Soon after, the air suddenly felt different, colder. Beter. Doc returned. "Hey X, I fixed the purifier, try taking your mask off."
Weakly, Xisuma brought his hand up to his head, slowly reaching around for the clip, before giving up and looking towards Keralis for help.
"I've got'cha baby," He said, undoing the clip for X, and pulling the helmet off.
He held his breath for a few seconds instinctually, before remembering he could breathe, and taking a deep breath in. It wasn't quite void air, it was too warm and thick for that. It must've been End air, which both Voidwalkers and Humans could breathe.
Xisuma slowly fell back asleep against Keralis, closing his eyes.
Yet again, Xisuma woke in a new place, this time on his couch, on Keralis' lap as the TV plays some cheesy reality TV.
As he stirs, he slowly brings his hand up to his face, finding his helmet is off, and he has multiple lines of stitching around his face.
"Hey darling," Keralis says, kissing Xisuma on the forehead.
He looks up, and sees Keralis' pretty eyes looking down at him, smiling with a hint of pity.
"Hey..." He mumbles, his voice sore, but much better. He pushes himself up with his arms, sitting up as he rests his head on Keralis. "Thanks.." He says.
"I love you." Keralis replies.
"I love you too."
