Alex is homesick. Not for a particular place — the Claremont-Diaz family moved around far too often throughout his childhood, chasing Ellen and Oscar’s political dreams, for any particular state, town or city, to really feel like ‘home’ per se — but for a feeling.
On a whim, he throws on the nearest scarf and makes his way out, his feet crunching in the freshly fallen snow — and down the street. He isn’t sure quite where he’s headed or what his plan is until he reaches the familiar light pink facade of The King’s Arms.
Or: On a lonely, snowy Christmas Eve in Oxford, Alex makes his way to the local pub for some company. He gets more than he's bargained for when he meets bartender Henry. Not that he’s complaining.
