Cosmic Revelation

Summary:

Every day spent with Sound, his sanity slipped further and further. It was a wonder how he'd managed to stay relatively sane for as long as he had. It would be perfectly understandable if he'd lost his mind the first time his eyes rested on this tempting siren, or at the first slide of that addicting mouth against his.

Or maybe he already had lost his mind. Insane people probably didn't recognize themselves as such, after all. He could've lost his sanity a long time ago and he wouldn't even know it, too busy wrapped up in his own bubble of Sound.

And if there was anyone who could drive him crazy, it was Sound Saran.

Notes:

Hello! I’m here with my very first SoundWin fic! I’ve been wanting to write them, but I wasn’t sure I could do them justice. But then, I made an agreement with Pxnky that if I wrote a SoundWin fic, she’d write qtoey. So, here it is! I actually had a lot of fun writing this so I hope it’s equally fun to read 💙

Work Text:

Sound slammed his empty glass down on the bar table, face screwed up at the burning sensation of the alcohol down his throat. Win laughed at the ugly expression, it was always amusing to him how Sound managed to look so pitiful after every shot he took. If his fans were able to see his face like this, they might not find him so handsome anymore.

That was a lie, though. Because Win had seen his face screwed up in countless ugly expressions and still found him to be unbearably attractive. But Win was just down bad like that. Sound could be doing the most unattractive thing, like making a fool of himself on the dance floor or golfing, and he would still be infuriatingly hot to Win.

Sound pointed an accusatory finger across the table at Tinn, eyebrows pinched in annoyance. “Just you watch, I’ll beat you!” His words were slurred and his tongue threatened to roll out of his mouth with every syllable. Yeah, Sound was trashed.

Their group was no stranger to such outings, nor to alcohol. But Sound usually held himself back, obsessed with keeping a certain degree of composure. His control freak of a boyfriend was intent on always keeping a level head. At most, he’d have one or two drinks and stay completely lucid the entire night.

But not this time. No, he’d somehow gotten it into his head that Tinn was challenging him to figure out who could handle their liquor better.

Tinn had done no such thing, but he didn’t bother to correct Sound’s reasoning as he started downing drinks. Everyone knew how much Sound Saran couldn’t back down from a challenge. Even ones he’d made up in his own head.

So, for the first time in the two and a half years he'd known him, Sound was knocking back drinks like nobody's business. Win found it amusing enough to not step in, and even he lost count of how many drinks Sound had consumed.

Tinn was leisurely sipping at his own drink, eyes briefly raking over Sound’s swaying form before settling on Win. “Is he okay?

Win spared a glance at the man directly beside him. He appeared a little restless, head lolling a bit like he was struggling to keep it upright. His gaze was still trained on Tinn, eyes narrowed and lips pursed. He looked like the same old grumpy Sound Saran he knew, just with an alcohol-induced flush spread across his cheeks.

Win shrugged. “Yeah, he’s fine. Probably.”

Tinn quirked an eyebrow. “Probably?”

Win scoffed, nodding towards Gun, who was giggling uncontrollably at nothing. “Worry about your boyfriend, I’ll worry about mine.” He was briefly smug at the way he'd managed to shift Tinn's attention away from them, not that it was difficult when Gun was involved. Tinn wouldn't notice if the entire place caught on fire as long as Gun was smiling at him.

But Tinn might have a point. Because the next thing he knew, a warm weight was leaning against his shoulder.

Sound had apparently decided his head was too heavy to hold up on his own and nominated Win as his headrest. Which would have been fine, and even normal, if not for the way Sound's hand snuck onto Win's thigh, giving it a squeeze.

They weren't the most affectionate couple on the best of days, and public displays of affection were a once-in-a-while kind of thing. The innocent head resting against Win's shoulder could be excused as platonic to an outsider. But the way his fingers dug into Win's thigh hard enough to probably leave temporary indentations in his skin was decidedly not excusable in the same way.

Luckily, it was hidden under the table so the two men across from them were none the wiser. Still, Win firmly grabbed Sound's hand and moved it away.

It wasn't that he minded a touch like that from his boyfriend. But this wasn't the safety and comfort of their bedroom, where Sound would let his hands wander all over Win's body whenever he pleased. For his part, he'd had two drinks over the past few hours so his head was only slightly buzzing, and that touch was enough to sober him up considerably.

Sound voiced his displeasure at his touch being denied through a low groan, pressing himself closer to Win's side.

Win looked awkwardly at Tinn, who appeared vaguely disgusted at the way Sound was plastered to him.

"What are you looking at?," he grumbled, feeling the need to protect Sound from Tinn's judgemental gaze even though Win himself had no idea what Sound was doing.

Gun abruptly stopped his laughter then, only to lean across the table to stage-whisper to Win. "I think Sound is drunk."

Win rolled his eyes, shaking his head at the obvious statement. "Thanks, I had no idea."

"You're welcome!," Gun chirped, oblivious to his sarcasm.

Sound, apparently annoyed that the attention had shifted away from him, brought both of his arms up to wrap them around Win. He nuzzled his cheek against the crook of Win's neck, sighing in content.

Win felt the tips of his ears burning hot and he nudged at Sound's side, trying to get him to let go. Sound wasn't one to get clingy, he didn't know what his boyfriend was up to. Whatever it was, it seemed like Win needed to get him home as soon as possible, lest he do something crazy like clamor into Win's lap right there in the bar.

"Alright, we're going home." He tried to wriggle out of Sound's hold but those arms only tightened around him, keeping him in place. "Sound." He intentionally made his voice stern, like he was disciplining an unruly dog. He thought Sound might dislike that enough to release him, and that may have worked on any other day, but it wasn't the case today.

Sound looked up at him through his long, thick eyelashes. Was it just Win who was finding him even prettier than usual at that moment? "I like it when you say my name."

Yeah, he needed to get home immediately. His cheeks were already starting to warm up and he was hyper-aware of the presence of his friends right in front of them. They'd never let Sound live this down, and by extension they'd tease Win for it too, even though he didn't do anything. They were just annoying like that.

He was a bit more firm when he grabbed both of Sound's arms, prying them off of him. He stood before the other could attach to him again. "Come on, pumpkin."

His strategic use of the pet name was meant to annoy Sound into complying. He knew Sound secretly liked the name but he'd never admit it, and he complained extra loud when Win used it in public.

To his surprise, Sound simply gave him a small smile and stood to obediently follow him.

That was a little weird. Sound wasn't usually so agreeable, but he must just be too drunk to know what was going on. Win grabbed onto his shoulder to lead him along, he wasn't confident Sound would be able to walk straight on his own.

"Have funnn~," Gun called after them in a sing-song voice, whatever that meant.

Getting Sound into the car was a whole ordeal. He was way more interested in touching any part of Win that he could reach as Win was trying to buckle his seatbelt for him. "Let go of my shirt. Don't you want to go home?" He griped, and to his surprise, the hand that was clutching his shirt immediately unfurled.

Win blinked once, twice, as Sound sat politely in the passenger seat of the car. He looked around, as if there was some hidden camera crew that would jump out and yell gotcha! Then Sound would smirk at him in that annoying way he liked to do and boast, "Did you really think I would be so nice to you? As if!"

But none of that happened. Sound just reached over to turn the car radio on then calmly bobbed his head to the music.

Getting more confused by the minute, he closed the passenger door and made his way to the driver's side.

The drive was largely uneventful, mostly because the ebb and flow of the car seemed to lull Sound into a state of half-asleep, head leaning against the window.

When Win pulled up to their shared apartment, he noticed Sound was drooling. Gross. But it made him smile for some reason. He always felt more than a little satisfied when he got to see the parts of Sound that he kept firmly locked away from others.

When he was easing Sound out of the car, his boyfriend's arms locked around him again. He allowed it this time, because it was the only way to get him to walk along.

Sound stayed firmly connected to him until they reached their bedroom, where Win dropped him off on the bed. "Stay here. I'll get some pajamas for you."

Sound blinked at him innocently, finally wiping away the drool that had gathered at the corner of his mouth during the drive. He didn't say anything, just watched as Win made his way across the room.

It was weird.

Win tried to ignore the strangeness of the situation and started rummaging around the dresser, searching for more comfortable clothes. No matter how drunk Sound might be, Win wouldn't let him sleep in his jeans and fancy button-up shirt. Only because Sound would complain at him the next day for not forcing him to change.

“P’Win…”

Win froze in his tracks, hand paused in the drawer he was rummaging through. His ears must have been playing tricks on him, surely he didn’t just hear what he thought he heard.

He slowly turned towards the drunken man sitting on the bed. Sound was still staring at him, flush sitting high on his cheeks and eyebrows furrowed.

“What did you just say?” Win wasn’t stupid. Or well, maybe he was. But he wasn’t asking a stupid question this time, no, it was perfectly reasonable. Because there was no way what his mind registered was reality.

Sound turned his face away, crossing his arms over his chest in frustration. “Nothing,” he huffed, stubbornly turning his whole body away.

Win narrowed his eyes at his boyfriend’s back, scratching his head in confusion. Sound didn’t always make complete sense to him but it seemed like the alcohol made him even less understandable than usual.

He shrugged, pushing whatever that was to the back of his mind, and went back to picking out pajamas for them to wear.

“P’Winnnn…”

And yeah, okay, it was unmistakable that time. Sound’s voice had come out in a drawn-out whine, causing Win to reflexively drop the pajama bottoms he’d just picked up.

He was kind of panicking. Sound had never called him that before. And it didn’t even make sense in theory, since Sound was a few months older than him. So he didn’t know what possessed his boyfriend to address him as such. He also didn’t know why he felt his heart speed up just a little in his chest at the sound of it.

What he did know was he was more than a little crazy when it came to Sound. There were more things than he could count that would be weird or annoying if anyone but Sound was the one doing it. But when it came to his boyfriend, he didn’t mind it so much. Even when he acted like they got on his nerves just to mess with Sound.

He chanced a glance at the bed again, heart thundering in his ears and he knew he was doomed as soon as he saw Sound. His bottom lip stuck out, resembling a pout, and his arms were outstretched. Calling to him.

All Win could think of in that moment was that Sound was… cute. Undeniably so. It was a fact, just like Win knew he was left-handed and the sky was blue, Sound was cute.

It wasn’t that he’d never found Sound to be cute before. He was his boyfriend, of course he found it cute when he woke up to Sound’s sleeping face drooling into his pillow, or when Sound spoke in a baby voice to a stray cat, or when Sound blushed to his ears when embarrassed.

But whenever Win called him cute, it was with a teasing tone and Sound always griped at him for it. He’d say “I’m not cute. I’m hot and sexy and handsome.” Which yes, all of those were true. But Sound also had his cute moments, however much he wanted to deny that.

But right now, it was like he was being cute on purpose. His eyes were rounded into an almost pleading expression, plump lips puckering up as if asking for a kiss, fingers making grabbing motions towards him.

Win, without even knowing what his body was doing, found himself approaching the bed. “Sound, what are you doing?…” he trailed off, unsure. He’d never seen his boyfriend like this before. Sound wasn't the touchiest person most days, aside from when it was bedtime and he wrapped around Win like an octopus. Win even swore Sound had eight limbs in those moments, when he couldn't escape Sound's grasp even if he tried. Not that he wanted to.

Win also wasn't the touchiest person. He may be in university but he still wasn't one-hundred-percent comfortable in his own body, so he wasn't exactly the most confident when it came to expressing physical affection.

Don't get him wrong, they still held hands and kissed and all those other things couples do. But Win is pretty sure they had some days where no touches were exchanged at all until it was time for their nightly cuddle session, especially with how busy Sound was on a daily basis.

But this alien that had replaced his boyfriend was urging him closer. He grabbed onto Win with greedy fingers as soon as he was within reach, pulling him until they were chest-to-chest.

It was a bit awkward, because Win was still standing. He had to lean down to allow Sound to cling onto his neck like a koala. A cold nose pressed against the warm skin of his throat and Sound inhaled deeply before letting out a pleased sigh.

Weird. This was so weird. His Sound was never clingy like this, never shamelessly pressed his burning hot cheek against Win’s neck as he was doing now.

“P’Win…,” Sound repeated, a pleased rumble this time. His breath puffed out against Win’s skin, making him shudder.

And okay, maybe this was doing something to Win. Something he couldn’t quite explain. Because without thinking, his hands found purchase on Sound’s waist and he squeezed the soft, supple skin beneath his fingers.

It made sense, in a way. Sound was so high-strung on the daily with schedules planned to a T, music practices and workshops and schoolwork all needing to get done with time constraints. Someone like him, a control freak, might like to relinquish that control every now and then.

He just wished he had some prior warning that he would be having to deal with a clingy Sound like this. He didn’t know what to do when Sound nuzzled against his chest, gazing up at him like he hung the moon and stars in the sky.

It was too much.

He sighed, raising his hands to Sound’s right ear. He carefully removed the small hoop earring he was wearing, since clearly he wasn’t in his right mind enough to take it out himself.

“You’re being so weird.” He spoke just to hear his own voice, just to fill the silence of the room. To give himself something to focus on other than the intense look in Sound’s eyes that had his knees one second away from buckling. He removed the other earring and set them on the nightstand nearby.

“That’s not nice,” Sound stated, but his tone was one of sadness, not anger. “Don’t you ever want to be nice to me?”

And well, how was Win supposed to react to that? Because all it did was make him feel like a terrible person, a terrible boyfriend. Even moreso when Sound pulled away from him, pretty lips set in a small frown. For a split second, Win could’ve sworn he saw tiny tears forming in the corners of his boyfriend’s eyes.

And sure, he’d seen Sound cry before. But they’d been together for nearly two years and he could count the amount of times he’d seen him cry on one hand. Sound just wasn’t one to express emotions in that way, he’d sooner yell and scream his frustrations out than cry about them.

So Win panicked even more. He bent down to wrap his arms around Sound, giving him an awkward squeeze. “Hey, no. I mean, yeah. Of course I want to be nice to you sometimes.”

Sound didn’t appear convinced. He tried to squirm away, voicing his complaints. “Yeah right, you’re only saying that now.” And that sounded more like the Sound Saran he knew, the spitfire that wouldn’t take shit from anyone and wouldn’t hesitate to put his foot down.

But somehow, it still didn’t feel right. Because Sound didn’t want to be feisty right now, he wanted to be clingy and follow directions. Apparently. And Win should accept every part of his boyfriend, right? Forcing him to keep himself under control when he didn’t want to seemed cruel.

And besides, his boyfriend was always so obsessed with keeping every detail of himself presentable. If he felt comfortable enough to let himself loose around Win, it would probably sting if Win reacted badly.

He didn’t want Sound to think he only wanted him on his good days, where he was put together and everything was neat and tidy. No, he wanted to see the rough parts, the messy parts, every part that worked together to create the man he was in love with.

He wanted to see each and every part of Sound Saran and love them all the same.

If Sound had some secret clingy side, so be it. Win would love the fuck out of that side of him too. He knew Sound would do the same for him. If Sound wanted to relinquish control of himself over to Win, who was he to deny it?

So, he took a steadying breath, willing his wildly beating heart to calm down before he spoke.

“P'Win will take care of you, Nong Sound.”

Sound went boneless at his words, whining high in his throat as he melted deliciously against Win’s chest. He trusted Win to hold him up, to keep him safe and take care of him.

And that’s exactly what Win would do, even if it killed him. Even if his heart beat right out of his chest just to get to Sound, as it was threatening to do right then. Even if his cheeks caught on fire from the sheer heat that rose to them as Sound’s soft lips dragged across the fabric of his shirt.

That’s right, he still needed to get them changed. Slowly, carefully, he cupped both of Sound’s cheeks. They nearly burned the skin of his palms, even moreso when Sound nuzzled against them. He raised his boyfriend’s gaze to meet his. To his relief, there were no signs of tears in those sparkling eyes. But what he found there was arguably more devastating.

Love. Devotion. Sound looked at him like he had all the answers, like he was the entire universe and Sound need only ask for whatever he wanted and Win would provide it without question.

It was a little daunting. Scary, even. But it was also… thrilling. To be looked at like he was Sound’s whole world, like Sound needed nothing else but him.

Win knew many people would kill to have this look directed at them by this man in particular. But this was for Win only and he’d rather die than let anyone else experience this, this overwhelming feeling of being complete with Sound in front of him, of being wanted and needed down to his very core.

Win had never been needed like this before.

And if he didn’t already know how down bad he was for his boyfriend, this really only proved it even further. Because as Sound turned his head just enough to place a kiss to his palm, the softest press of lips against his skin, he knew he would do anything for Sound.

That was what gave him the courage to press on, to venture into uncharted territory that he never would've imagined himself visiting.

“Nong Sound, will you let your P’Win change your clothes?”

Win would rather die than allow anyone else to hear him speaking so politely, so fondly. But this was the love of his life and Sound had more or less bared his heart and all his vulnerabilities to Win so this was the least he could do in return. It was his job to take care of Sound, nobody else could do it but him.

Not that Win felt particularly deserving of such trust. He didn't know what good deeds he must've done in his past life to land himself in a relationship with the Sound Saran in this one. Sure, Sound was annoying and a little hot-headed. He acted like he had such good manners around others, but that all flew out the window the moment he was alone with Chinzhilla. He was foul-mouthed and quick to yell at any inconvenience.

But still, his heart was in the right place. He was an amazing guitarist. Everywhere he went, people wanted to listen to him, wanted to hear what he had to say. He had heaps of fans, both from his YouTube videos and his acting jobs. He had the voice of an angel and the face of one to match. The perfect man, as some would say. And even though Win knew Sound wasn't perfect, he was perfect for Win.

He was other-worldly, ripped from an alternate dimension to bring his starlight over to this one. To light up Win's otherwise drab world.

And Win was, well… just Win. He wasn't anything miraculous. He didn’t have a group of adoring fans. He came from a humble family, just him and his parents. He wasn't exactly son of the year. His father still attempted to get him to take over the garage every time he went back home to visit.

The truth was, there was nothing really special about him. He didn't know what Sound saw in him, what made Sound fall in love enough to confess in the form of a song written just for him.

It surprised him sometimes, remembering what Sound had done for him. He lived through it, yes, but it felt lightyears away now. That version of him and the current version of him felt like two different people. Because back then, he had no idea how to sort out the confusing mess of feelings he had for Sound Saran. But in the current day, he loved Sound as easily as breathing.

So no, Win didn't know what drew Sound to him, why he stayed for as long as he had. But he was a greedy man, filled with an insatiable hunger for all things Sound. So he wouldn't hesitate to sink his greedy fingers into any iteration of Sound that presented itself to him.

Sound’s pretty eyelashes fluttered and he nodded slowly, like his movements were through molasses. Like every small motion required an unbearable amount of focus that Sound was struggling to keep up.

Right, Win had to tell him what to do and guide him. His boyfriend was simply too drunk to think for himself, Win would have to do the thinking for him.

"Wait here for your P'Win, baby. I'll help you get changed."

There was no denying the thrill that ran down Win's spine when those cloudy, half-lidded eyes found his. Sound nodded again, too out of it to do much else. With one last pat to one of his reddened cheeks, Win crossed the room to pick up the pajama pants he'd abandoned.

He rushed to find a suitable shirt to go along with it. Sound liked to wear pajamas to bed while Win was more of a T-shirt and boxers kind of guy, so he really only needed to pick out a shirt for himself.

There was a soft thud behind him and he turned so fast he almost got whiplash. He was greeted with the sight of Sound squirming atop the sheets, whining as he tried to unbutton his shirt. He looked extra pitiful at that moment, trembling fingers trying and failing to grip the buttons.

But even that helpless sight was attractive to Win. Seeing his boyfriend looking so silly, fumbling with his buttons like a fool, only caused his heart to swell with love. It was annoying really, how Sound managed to make him fall deeper in love every day over the dumbest things.

With a sigh, he carried the clothes over to the bed. "Sound, what are you doing?"

Sound finally managed to get one of the buttons undone, grinning in triumph. But that grin quickly melted away into a dissatisfied frown when he registered Win's words a few seconds late.

"Nong Sound." He insisted with a huff, throwing a glare his way that lacked any of its usual heat. And even that was cute, in an annoying way.

Win rolled his eyes, setting the clothes down on the mattress to grab both of Sound's hands. "Alright, Nong Sound. I told you to sit still." He used his grip to pull his boyfriend back into a sitting position by his hands. Sound went along with it easily, if only because he wanted to follow Win's lead.

It was so different from their usual dynamic. If this was any other day, Sound would be ripping his hands out of Win's grip and rolling away to grab a pillow, which he would then throw at Win's face. He'd take that as a declaration of war and grab a second pillow to smack Sound with it.

But tonight was different. Maybe even special. Win certainly felt special at least, when Sound turned those big beautiful eyes on him and held his arms out so Win could more easily remove his shirt. He knew Sound would never be caught dead looking at someone else like this. Like he would drown in Win forever if he could, like he wanted nothing more than to stay in the comfort of Win's presence for the rest of his life.

He knew Sound loved him. And Sound knew he was loved in return. But such a blatant, unapologetic display of Sound's trust in him was almost too much for him to handle.

"I was trying to help." Sound huffed, but it lacked any bite. It did, however, serve to pull Win out of his head. He needed to be present in this moment. Sound needed him.

Win shook his head fondly and started unbuttoning Sound's shirt for him. The way his boyfriend shuddered every time Win's knuckles brushed against his skin didn't go unnoticed. But he did nothing more than sit there politely as Win removed his shirt.

Win moved on to his pants next, unbuttoning them and taking great care to not accidentally brush against Sound's crotch. He already had his hands full with a clingy, drunk Sound. He didn't know what he'd do if his boyfriend decided to add horniness into the mix.

Luckily, Sound just straightened his legs so Win could more easily pull his pants off. Undressed and with his hair mused up from where he'd rubbed his head against the mattress, Sound was so… cute. That dreaded word again, that word Sound never wanted to hear pass from his lips.

Win wondered if this version of Sound would like it, though. And strangely enough, he almost felt like this new side of Sound was unlocking some secret part of him, too. Because suddenly, all he longed to do was cradle Sound's face in his hands and praise him for the bare minimum.

And really, who could blame him for what he did next? His boyfriend was simply too cute, too soft. That was why he couldn't help but smooth down Sound's hair gently with a smile. "You're being so good, Nong Sound. Good and cute only for your P'Win."

And if Win thought Sound's face was burning up before, it really couldn't hold a candle to how it erupted into flames then. Sound's gaze dropped down to the mattress and he was actually shy, moving one hand up to cover his face.

Win thought that was it, thought Sound was incapable of speaking anymore, and went to grab the pajama shirt. Then Sound surprised him yet again, voice small and hesitant. "Only for P'Win…"

Win was overtaken with a sudden need to scoop Sound into his arms, to squeeze him and kiss him all over and let him know how much he treasured him. Because yes, they may bicker constantly and get on each other's nerves on purpose, but Sound was the most important thing in his life.

It just so happened that his treasure, his prized possession, was peeking at him from between the gaps in his fingers. Win was powerless to stop himself, cuteness aggression filling him with a vengeance he'd never experienced. He grabbed Sound's hand, gently pulling it away from his face.

Sound's mouth was free now, lips parted just slightly, inviting him. And so he leaned in, pressing the softest of kisses to those lips that he loved so much.

He didn't allow the kiss to linger, not when Sound was so vulnerable like this, feelings spilling out everywhere and showing on his face clear as day. And even though Sound whined when he pulled away, he knew his boyfriend appreciated the soft gesture of comfort, of want, of love.

"You can only be like this with me." He stated firmly, and he pulled the shirt on over Sound's head, not allowing him any time to deny it.

But Sound didn't seem interested in denying it, quite the opposite actually. As Sound's head popped out of the neck hole of the shirt, he was smiling.

Sound usually defaulted to a smirk or a knowing grin, and don't get him wrong, Win found those as attractive as anyone else. Even though he often pinched Sound's cheeks or teased him to get that smug look off his face.

Win always found his smile to be the most beautiful. With all stress erased from his face, no worry lines creasing his brow and cheeks dimpled adorably. Sound's smile did things to Win that he had no words to describe. All he could think of was how badly he wanted to preserve that smile, how he selfishly wanted to keep it all to himself.

Somehow, he managed to push past his incessant need to kiss that pretty smile long enough to slide the pajama pants up Sound's legs. He quickly changed his shirt and threw all their discarded clothes into the hamper in the corner. He'd been yelled at too many times for leaving clothes scattered across the floor, he now made sure to toss them into the hamper more often than not. Unless Sound had gotten on his nerves particularly hard that day, then he'd purposefully throw his dirty clothes on the ground just to rile him up.

But Sound wasn't getting on his nerves today. No, he was being soft and sensitive and cute, so Win behaved and didn't dirty up the floor.

If it was possible, Sound seemed even more out of it by the time Win was done dressing him. His eyelids were drooping, as well as his head, which was threatening to topple him over and crash him face-first onto the ground.

Luckily for him, Win was there. Instead of falling to the floor, his face landed safely on Win's chest.

He got the strange urge to coo and wrap Sound up in blankets and never let him go. He felt kind of crazy. He never thought he could have this much cuteness aggression over someone who would normally become aggressive at the slightest implication that he was cute.

But as Sound's arms once again came up to wrap around him, everything else was erased from his mind. His lover, his other half, was slipping his hands underneath Win's shirt. Sound's palms, warmer than usual, gently caressed the skin of his back.

Win guessed the skin-to-skin contact must have calmed him somehow, for Sound was relegated to pleased hums and soft sighs. Since Win was still standing, Sound comfortably pressed one cheek against his stomach. His eyes were closed and Win was entirely unprepared for the moment they fluttered open.

Win had already seen that look directed at him multiple times within the last hour. But that did nothing to lessen its impact. It did nothing to quell the butterflies beating their wings incessantly inside his stomach, nothing to calm the racing of his heart that he was sure Sound could hear, nothing to stop the pleasant buzz beneath his skin wherever Sound touched him.

The mushy mood Sound was in seemed to be getting to him as well. He felt soft and melty around the edges, leaning down just so Sound could reach more of his skin. And Sound took it gratefully, delicate fingers digging into Win's back, almost hard enough to be painful.

And then it did become a little painful, because Sound's nails were digging into his skin. But the slight pain paled in comparison to the shock his entire body felt when Sound opened his mouth again. "Hia Win is mine."

His voice was confident, a shade of his usual self shining through. But his eyes were still full of stars when he gazed up at Win, tiny constellations that he wanted to spend hours counting. And his mouth was still soft, curving beautifully in the corners, hints of dimples carving into his cheeks.

This juxtaposition of the possessive way Sound held him, the sure tone of his voice and the soft look in his eyes had Win's brain all kinds of confused.

But something about Sound's confidence soothed him, too. Like he knew Win was his, that was just one of the rules of the universe. The sun rises and sets, the Earth spins on its axis and Win belongs to Sound. It was as easy as that.

Really, everything was that easy when it came to Sound. Sure, they bickered at every given opportunity, but that did nothing to hinder the love they held for each other. And as Sound was looking up at him with those rounded eyes, one cheek squished against Win's shirt, he had another revelation.

Sound was his world. His sun and his moon, his stars and his sky. He'd known that for some time now, that wasn't the surprising part.

No, what had him so shocked was the sudden realization that he was Sound's world. He was Sound's sun and moon, stars and sky, and everything else in between.

Win knew Sound loved him. But there was always this secret part of him deep down that never believed Sound could match the depth of his love. Because even though Sound fell first, Win fell harder. He fell so hard that he didn't know what to do with all of his emotions. He'd willingly jumped headfirst off that metaphorical cliff and he was stuck in a constant state of falling.

But wouldn't it be nice if Sound was right there with him? If Sound felt just the same, always one second away from bursting at the seams with how much love he held for Win? Then he wouldn't have to face the yawning abyss alone, wouldn't have to question whether Sound thought about him all day too, wouldn't have to worry that he looked so lackluster next to his gorgeous boyfriend.

It may be a pipe dream, or a delusion. But something in Sound's gaze had him believing it, even just in this singular moment in time. Believing that Sound understood the depths of his feelings and returned them full-force, that he lived and breathed Win.

He got the sudden urge to cry. Which was ridiculous, because Sound was the one who was clingy and drunk out of his mind and desperate for attention. But somehow, Win was the one getting emotional and feeling stripped down and vulnerable, merely from the way Sound peered into his soul, saw all of him and accepted him, trusted him, loved him.

It was too much. The intimacy of the moment overwhelmed him. He finally moved to sit on the bed beside Sound, just to even out the playing field so he could hide his face against Sound's neck.

With any luck, Sound was too out of it to notice how his shoulders trembled with the effort of holding back his tears. He didn't want to cry, not now. Not when Sound was being so vulnerable, so sweet. Sound needed him.

But there was another fact he knew, one more truth he felt deep in his bones.

He needed Sound.

He needed Sound more than he needed air to breathe, food to eat and sleep to rest his head. If he could, he would inhale Sound into his lungs and live on him, never sleeping or leaving the house or doing anything that would take even a morsel of his attention away from Sound.

That was a crazy thought, and he knew it. But he never claimed to be in his right mind when it came to Sound Saran, even when they first met and Win was greeted with a grumpy frown instead of the cool smile he'd imagined.

Because who would've thought SoundAbout, his favorite guitarist on YouTube, would be such a jerk in person? If someone had told that version of Win that years later, he'd be ready to set the whole world down at Sound's feet with one bat of his boyfriend's eyelashes, he would have punched them in the face.

Instead, Win felt like he was the one being punched in the face. There was no other way to describe the intense wave of emotion that washed over him when Sound's slender fingers found themselves in his hair. His boyfriend gently soothed his fingers through the dark strands. And even though Win couldn't see it, since his face was still pressed firmly to Sound's neck, he could almost feel the way Sound's lips were curled up into a smile when they pressed against his head.

“I love you, P’Win.”

Sound’s voice was full of so much softness, so much admiration. So different from how he usually spoke, all sarcastic and annoyed inflections. This was an entirely new tone, one reserved for Win and only Win.

His heart expanded so much, he worried it would explode right out of his chest. Because Win knew he’d been this down bad for Sound since they started dating. Maybe even before, maybe ever since they met. But the sincerity and the depth of love in Sound’s voice hinted that he felt much the same.

Maybe Sound had also spent countless hours marveling over how perfectly they fit together and constantly struggling to stay afloat in the chaotic waters that came along with falling in love. Maybe he really wasn't alone when he felt like he was being swallowed up entirely by his feelings for Sound, leaving him as nothing but a melted pile of mush.

Sound gently tugged on his hair, pulling him out of his comfortable hiding spot. Win knew his face was bright red, and his expression must have betrayed how vulnerable he felt because Sound actually cooed at him. Like he found Win as cute as a stray kitten.

Then Sound's lips were pressing to his burning cheek, soft and reassuring. "My pretty Win." He murmured against the skin, hands still stroking through Win's hair.

Win was overcome with emotion. He didn't have the most confidence in his looks and Sound knew that. Sound always made sure to give him compliments, to call him handsome and say he looked nice nearly every day.

But pretty was a new one. Win had never been called pretty before. It wasn't usually used for guys, as far as Win knew at least. Pretty was for flowers, sunsets and the moon, not for Win.

But when he gazed at his boyfriend in that moment, he found himself believing he was the prettiest thing Sound had ever seen. He couldn't possibly believe otherwise, not when sincerity shone in his eyes and was present in every syllable of his words.

He grabbed onto Sound's shoulders, easing him into a lying position on the bed. Sound went along without complaint, laying on his back with his hair forming a halo around his head on the pillow.

Win hovered above him, allowing himself a self-indulgent moment of staring at his lover. Sound's twinkling irises were trained on him, like the sight of Win was the only one he wanted burned into his brain. He was still smiling that devastating smile, lips parted just enough to show hints of perfect teeth. His cheeks were bright red and dimpled, a testament to how happy he felt at that moment.

Happiness looked so good on Sound Saran. Every emotion did, really. Whether he was glaring in annoyance, narrowing his eyes in concentration or smirking in over-confidence. He was always attractive. But happiness suited him so well, rounding out his hard edges and transforming him into a softer, more agreeable person.

His next words tumbled out of his mouth before he could stop them. Not that he even wanted to. He had this overwhelming urge to praise Sound, to provide positive reinforcement so his boyfriend would know that he was allowed to be this soft around him. Sure, Win would probably tease him about it later. But he'd take care of him all the same, he'd leave no part of Sound unloved.

"You're the pretty one, Nong Sound."

He delighted in the way that flush deepened, seeming to become a permanent fixture on his lover's gorgeous face. Sound melted against the bedsheets, going boneless until Win was sure he wouldn't be able to move a muscle even if he tried.

Sound was lost to the world.

Win had no idea how he was able to have such an effect on him. After all, he was just Win. Nobody expected they would work together, he knew everyone thought Sound was too good for him. He was convinced even their friends didn't see how they could possibly be a good match.

Every time Sound and Win had a disagreement, their friends’ faces showed how they thought they were one second away from breaking up. As if Win would ever let that happen. He was in this Loving Sound shit for life.

There was nobody else like Sound Saran on this entire planet. If it weren’t for him, Win would be doomed to walk this Earth alone. Only Sound could understand him, could see every side of him and love him all the same.

Their relationship may be strange to some. And maybe nobody would ever understand how they came to hold so much love for each other when all they did initially was argue over every little thing.

But that didn’t matter. Nobody else needed to understand. Win and Sound were the only ones it had to make sense to.

With that thought in mind, he bent down to press his lips to one of Sound's beauty marks. The gods had blessed him with strategically placed moles forming a triangular shape on the side of his neck. One more pretty feature he had, as if he wasn't already pretty enough.

He’d been given those marks just so Win would kiss them. And so he did, at every given opportunity. Sound even got annoyed at him sometimes, tried to push him away when Win wouldn’t stop connecting his lips to them. But he knew Sound didn’t mean it. Because he always melted at the feeling of Win’s lips caressing his neck, no matter how hard he tried to hide it.

None of his reactions could be hidden from Win, not when he'd spent countless hours studying his every expression. So much so that he had a catalogue of them in his mind, and he likely knew how Sound would react to something before Sound himself knew.

Or at least, that was what Win thought before tonight. Now, upon being gifted with an entirely new side to his lover, he knew he would never stop learning things about Sound. And wasn't that a nice thought? No matter how much he knew about Sound, inside and out, there was always more to learn.

Whether it was small things, such as his intense hatred for the bumpy texture of avocados or the way he painted his entire bedroom by himself when he was in grade school because he was convinced nobody else would get the perfect shade of yellow he wanted.

Or bigger things, like this brand new softness he had to him, shiny and fresh out of its packaging. He doubted anyone else had ever had the pleasure of witnessing Sound like this. And if Win had anything to say about it, which he definitely did, nobody else ever would.

Win didn't have to put his extensive knowledge of Sound's expressions to use tonight, because his boyfriend wasn't even trying to hide his reactions. Sound was all but purring at the feeling of Win's lips brushing against his beauty marks. He even tilted his head to the side, presenting more skin for Win to lavish his attention on.

And who was he to deny that? He was but a mere mortal, being tempted by an angel himself. Sound would wring every ounce of attention out of him that he possibly could, and Win would knowingly let it happen. Because his attention already belonged to Sound, as did his heart and even his life. His everything belonged to Sound.

He dragged his lips over every inch of Sound's neck, practically worshipping him. And Sound was enjoying every second, happy hums falling constantly from his lips.

Sound seemed to regain the sensation in his arms, for his hands were gripping Win's hair again. He tugged Win away from his neck and Win almost felt like dying. He needed his lips to be connected to Sound in any way possible, he needed to spoil Sound with his attention and care until both of them knew nothing but each other.

But he didn't even have time to lament this loss of connection, because the next thing he knew, Sound's lips were pressing against his. And there was that feeling again. The one that made Win feel like he was floating in the sky and crashing down to Earth at the same time. His feelings of infatuation were so large and intense that they threatened to swallow him whole.

But Sound wasn't off on some faraway cloud, no matter how many times Win likened him to an angel. So having his head in the clouds was no use to him, not when his lover was here, a solid weight underneath him.

Win moved his lips against Sound's in practiced motions. Sound tended to kiss Win’s bottom lip, so naturally Win gravitated towards Sound’s top one. Just another way they fit together.

He always loved kissing Sound. He didn't know how Sound did it, but he always managed to make Win forget the rest of the world existed. His overthinking mind went blissfully blank at every press of those perfect lips, every swipe of Sound's tongue against him.

Win, against better judgement, opened his mouth. He just couldn't resist Sound, he'd do anything in this world for him. It was no surprise when Sound's curious tongue forced its way between his lips, intent on mapping out the inside of his mouth.

Which was silly, because surely he had every part of Win's mouth memorized by now. But Sound never acted like he had enough, always eager to taste his mouth like it was filled with the sweetest abrosia, like it was the only thing that could quench his life-long thirst.

And Win never complained. He wouldn't, not when he was just as bad, always ready to suck around Sound's tongue like it belonged there.

Win was the one to break it off. Not because he wanted to, trust him, he'd spend every second kissing his boyfriend if he could. But the voice in his head was reminding him that Sound wasn't in his right mind, that he needed Win to take care of him.

He cupped those rosy cheeks fondly in his palms, thumbs rubbing circles against Sound's skin. "My good boy." He was breathless, both from the kiss and from the way Sound was so ethereal underneath him, stealing all the breath from his body.

Sound's chest was heaving as he caught his breath, face and neck as red as a tomato. He was blinking slowly, pretty eyelashes fluttering above those dazed eyes. Even still, his gaze was firmly planted on Win, as it had been since they got home.

He was a vision, one Win wanted to be seared into his brain until it was all he could see for all of eternity. Until he lived and breathed Sound Saran and anyone who took one look at him would know how whipped he was for his boyfriend. And Win would wear that title with honor. Because people on the outside may only see them fighting and threatening to punch each other, but they were so much more than that.

So fine, let everyone know how obsessed Win was with him. They probably already knew anyway. Because Win would never tolerate someone's presence who constantly made it their job to get on his nerves, unless he was in love with them.

"Hia Win…" Sound's voice was what broke him out of his trance, the only thing that could bring him back down to Earth. He didn't know how long he'd been staring, which probably wasn't a good thing. They do say you're not supposed to look at an angel for too long, or your eyeballs might melt from the force of their light.

Then again, losing his eyesight might be worth it if it meant he earned an extra second of staring at Sound.

Win really was losing it.

But Sound was looking at him with pleading eyes, which made him focus long enough to figure out what his boyfriend was asking of him. Sound's slow blinks were his first clue, followed by a yawn that should have made his face look ugly. Because who looked hot while yawning with their mouth wide open? Well, Sound, apparently.

His boyfriend was clearly sleepy, head lolling as he struggled to stay awake. It was adorable. When he laid himself down next to Sound, it was with a dopey smile on his face.

Sound was crowding into his space within two milliseconds, plastering himself to Win's side. He let out a little chuckle at the way Sound was so eager for touch, greedy hands roaming Win's chest over his shirt.

They usually had to argue over who would be the little spoon on any given night, so it switched every other day. Both of them wanted to be the big spoon, to be the one squeezing the other in their arms like their life depended on it.

Win liked the way Sound held him more than he cared to admit. Especially when Sound's hands snuck under his shirt to rub circles against his stomach. He was always out within seconds when Sound did that. And he got the best sleep too, drooling into his pillow.

But tonight, Sound didn't protest when Win guided him onto his side. He simply scooted closer to press his back against Win's chest, leaving no inch of space between them.

Win pulled the blanket over them, then his arms naturally wrapped around his lover's body. Sound was making pleased little noises as he leaned back into Win's hold.

He pressed the softest of kisses to the shell of Sound's ear. "You should drink more often. You're really cute like this, you know."

Sound was definitely out of it, because he didn't argue. He simply nodded sleepily, and Win imagined he was fighting to keep his eyes open. "Only if Hia Win will take care of me…"

Win slipped his hands under Sound's shirt, rubbing gentle circles over his stomach. Because he knew Sound loved having his stomach rubbed just as much as Win did, even though neither cared to admit it. "Your Hia Win will always take care of you. Okay, Nong Sound?"

He could get used to this. He hoped Sound would let himself go more often, allow Win to take control so he could give his overworking brain a break every now and then. Maybe even without needing alcohol to lower his inhibitions.

Because Win wanted Sound to trust him enough to show him everything.

Sound went suspiciously silent. Just when he thought his boyfriend was asleep, one of Sound's hands rested on top of Win's on his stomach.

"Nong Sound loves his Hia Win so much…"

Sound's voice was shaky, trembling. Win's other hand, the one Sound wasn't holding, turned his boyfriend over to face him. Sure enough, those beautiful eyes he wanted to get lost in were watery. And a few crystalline tears were already escaping, drawing tracks down Sound's beautiful cheeks.

"Hey, pumpkin, what's wrong?" He voiced his concern, wiping away Sound's tears from one eye with his thumb as he kissed away the tears from the other. He could taste the saltiness on his lips and even that was enough to drive him mad. Love was turning him into a whole different beast, content with anything and everything related to Sound.

Sound shook his head, pursing his lips as if trying to keep the tears in. "Nothing is wrong. Nong Sound is just so happy…" He took a deep breath then, trying to steady his voice. "So happy that my feelings have nowhere to go, so they're coming out of my eyes."

Win smiled at the cuteness of his answer. And if, upon kissing away more of those crystalline tears, his tongue made a brief appearance to sneak a taste of the saltiness, well… That was between him and Sound. And it made Sound laugh at his ridiculousness, which was a win in his book.

"P'Win is always going to love you, baby." Win decided that tonight, they may benefit from hugging each other, no big or little spoon needed. Just Win and Sound, wrapped in the comfort of each other's arms. As such, he pulled Sound closer, squishing his lover against his chest. "No matter what, you can always trust me to be here for you."

Sound sunk easily into his embrace, squeezing Win within an inch of his life at the same time. His face pressed against Win's chest, probably leaving tear tracks on his shirt. But that was the furthest thing from his mind.

All he could think about was how docile and domestic Sound was being. He wondered if this signified a deepening of their relationship. He hoped it did. Because the night wasn't even over and he was already waiting for the next time he'd get to hold Sound like this, to show his care so blatantly and have Sound eat it up like a man starved.

Win was, by all accounts, a simple man. Sound was decidedly not. He was all complex layers and complicated emotions. That was why it was hard for him to believe Sound had feelings for him at first.

Win wanted to unravel each layer one by one, even if it took decades. He wanted to unwrap Sound like the world's best birthday present, like Sound was hand-crafted just to be delivered to him. To be his pumpkin, his baby, his Nong Sound.

Sound's hands were digging into his back again. As if he couldn't get enough of Win, as if being plastered to his chest still wasn't close enough. It seemed like Sound wanted to press so close to him that they melted together into one singular being. And Win, as crazy as he was over his boyfriend, would let it happen.

A love this strong simply must transcend life itself. He wondered if they'd lived many lives together, countless versions of them meeting and falling in love in various ways. Because he knew no matter who he was in another life, the only person for him was Sound Saran.

Beyond just separate lives on this Earth, Win knew their love was cosmic in ways that no human could understand. Perhaps they'd spent years as two adjacent stars in the sky. Sound would shine brighter than him, he always did. But his light would encourage Win's to grow, to burn as hot as the love he felt for the man before him right now.

In another life, Sound would be the sun and Win would be the moon. For what is the moon without the sun? The moon's light is only made possible by reflecting the bright rays of the sun, giving it the appearance of brilliance. So too, was Win only capable of being who he was because of how Sound crashed into his life without warning.

Sound was the brightest star in his sky. Scratch that, he was the only star. Because nobody else could even come close to making Win feel this accepted, this needed, this loved.

And love was spilling out of Sound in every possible way when he was like this. Even while half-asleep, he was rubbing his face against Win's chest. He was clutching onto Win like he was Sound's treasure, the one thing he'd wanted his whole life.

And maybe Win liked feeling so treasured. Because before Sound came along, nobody ever put him first. Gun was his best friend but he had his mom and his dreams to worry about. His parents never stopped to listen to what he wanted to do with his life. His father's care seemed conditional on whether or not Win would take over the garage. And his mom always took his dad's side on that front. With no siblings to speak of, he'd spent the majority of his life feeling largely misunderstood.

Nobody ever asked him what he wanted, nobody understood how he kept his feelings bottled up until he exploded in fits of anger. They just saw those outbursts and labeled him as mean, nasty, angry.

But not Sound. Because Sound was the first person to not shy away from Win's anger. Instead, he returned it full-force and then some, never hesitating to threaten Win with a slap or a kick.

And maybe Win shouldn't have been drawn to that so much. To the way Sound made him feel seen and heard, even if his version of hearing Win meant he was yelling right back at him.

But he couldn't help it. He was drawn to Sound like a moth to a flame, and he purposefully got on his nerves just to feel the heat in that angry gaze trained on him. Back then, he didn't know why his senses lit up when Sound was in his face, yelling at him. In hindsight, it was obvious he just wanted Sound's attention.

But Sound didn't stop there. No, he went beyond the surface, studying Win under a microscope to gain a better understanding. And he may have studied a bit too hard, because before Win knew it, Sound was confessing feelings for him.

Their arguments weren't so explosive anymore. They'd calmed down extensively since getting together. Because deep down, they were just two hurt kids who desperately needed someone to listen, to understand.

And though the world may have failed them in that aspect, they refused to fail each other. Win much preferred their arguments in the present day over Win's dirty clothes on the floor or Sound's inability to wash dishes without getting water all over the counter. It was much better than their bouts of anger towards each other when both of them were confused about their emotions and Win thought he was always one second away from getting punched.

At least now, their arguments ended in an emotion-fueled makeout session more often than not. Because Sound was hot when he was shouting, eyes narrowed in annoyance and lips drawn back to show his teeth. As if he was daring Win to come closer, to try to kiss him and face the risk of getting bitten instead.

And there was still an air of security, of knowing the other wasn't going anywhere even if they raised their voice at each other now and then. They were locked into each other for life. It was what worked for them.

Win gave in to his temptations, as he always did when Sound was involved. He squeezed his lover against his chest, rubbing over his back to soothe him. He pressed tiny kisses into Sound's messy hair. "You're the best thing in my life." He confessed against those dyed-grey strands, voice quiet in the stillness of the night.

He wasn't sure Sound heard him at first. But then Sound was pressing a kiss to Win's heart, and even through the thin fabric of the shirt, Win could feel the softness of his lips.

"You are my life."

And really, what was he supposed to do when those words left Sound's lips? He felt like he was being cut open, every inch of his insides being inspected by Sound. This man who loved him with every fiber of his being, this man who Win loved so much that he would die if he couldn't be around him like this.

He felt the tears falling from his eyes, silent but profound. Win was always quicker to tears than Sound was, although he didn't make it a habit to cry either. But he was feeling impossibly soft, impossibly loved, and Sound had already cried tonight so Win figured it only made sense for him to follow.

Just as he would always follow Sound, to the ends of the Earth and even to other planets. Just as he'd followed Sound right off that cliff, allowing himself to succumb to his feelings for the other man.

Win didn't know how Sound could tell he was crying. His body didn't shudder, he didn't make any sounds with his mouth. But somehow, Sound always knew.

Sound scooted himself up, still not allowing any space to form between them. He just wanted to lay his head down next to Win's, it would seem. So they could touch their foreheads together intimately, gazing endlessly into each other's watery eyes.

And Sound, as strange as he was, leaned forward. But not to give him a kiss as Win might imagine. No, he instead touched his wet cheek to Win's, allowing their tears to combine.

It was oddly… Romantic? Or maybe Win was just biased, unable to disconnect Sound from the idea of romance in his head. Either way, he only felt his love pooling in his chest even more at the gesture.

Sound spoke with their cheeks pressed together, his breath tickling Win's ear. "Hia Win can't leave me."

Win waited for him to elaborate, but he didn't. He simply held even tighter onto Win, like the premise of letting him go was out of this world. He let that singular phrase speak for him, conveying everything he felt in that moment.

The thing was, he didn't even sound pleading when he said it. He didn't give off the impression that he was asking Win not to leave him. No, he stated it like it was a fact. Like he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Win couldn't leave him, because it would rip him to pieces if he had to be without Sound.

Win was nodding before he even registered his own movement, his body answering for him. But that wasn't enough, he had to use his voice to express how he felt in that moment. To let Sound know he was right, that Win would never even dream of leaving him.

"I could never leave you. There's no one else like you, pumpkin."

Then Sound was pulling away, just enough to rest his head comfortably on the pillow again. He offered one more of those beautiful smiles, just to get under Win's skin, it would seem. Because the next thing he knew, Sound's breathing was evening out. His lips were going slack, smile slowly waning. But the loss of that smile didn't constitute any loss of Sound's beauty.

He looked so peaceful in his dream state. Again, Win marveled at the lack of worry lines creasing his brow, the missing frown lines from his cheeks. Win was never above openly staring at Sound, especially when his lover was sleeping, therefore none the wiser to Win's gaze locked onto him.

But Sound was a warm, comforting weight against him and he knew it was a matter of time before he slipped into a similar state of unconsciousness. He spent his remaining moments awake cradling his lover to his chest and whispering praises into the small amount of space between them. Until his eyes fell shut and his mind was emptied of everything but Sound Saran.

He woke up to the sound of a low groan. "Win, why the hell did you let me drink so much last night?"

Win's eyes cracked open, immediately greeted with the sight of his gorgeous boyfriend. Sound was clutching at his head with one hand, the other covering his eyes, seemingly attempting to block any light from bothering them.

"Don't you mean P'Win?," he teased, raising a hand to pinch one of Sound's cheeks. Predictably, his hand was slapped away. It seemed to be more of an automatic reflex than anything else.

He saw the exact moment Sound registered his words, memories no doubt flooding back to him a mile a minute. His cheeks filled with heat, a horrified expression overtaking his features.

Sound yanked the blanket off Win, pulling it up to cover his face. He groaned, a long-suffering sound as he wrapped the blanket fully around him, leaving no inch of himself uncovered. "Shut up. We're never talking about this again." His voice was muffled through the fabric but not enough to make his words discernible.

Win, just to be annoying but also because he felt the need to have his lover close, wrapped his arms around Sound's blanket-covered form. "Speak for yourself. I want to see Nong Sound again."

Sound groaned for the second time, attempting to squirm out of his embrace. "In your dreams, jackass."

Win only tightened his grip, taking it a step further by pulling the man towards him. "Let me see you, pumpkin."

He really did know Sound better than anyone. He knew just how to get him to relent, ceasing his weak attempts at escape.

The blanket was slowly pulled down, just enough to expose Sound's eyes. His eyebrows were furrowed, but Win could see clear as day the vulnerability that was shining in his irises. "Don't tease me, unless you want to get punched."

Win just smiled at the false threat. "Why would I tease you?" He grabbed onto the blanket, pulling it further down until Sound's entire face was on display. He caressed his boyfriend's cheek, taking note of how warm his skin was. "I liked taking care of you."

Sound wasn't expecting that. His surprise showed in the way his eyes widened, mouth dropping open just a bit. Choked noises left his lips, failed attempts at speech that almost made Win laugh. Almost, because he didn't want Sound to think he was making fun of him for being vulnerable.

"You didn't think it was weird?" Sound finally found his voice, gaze ducking away from Win's in shame. Win understood his embarrassment. Sound hated feeling like he wasn't in control, he made it a point to plan out his schedules days in advance. And if one little thing fell out of place, he'd be irritable all day.

But he didn't want Sound to feel embarrassed when he was with Win. Sound was his safe space, the one person he could drop all his defenses around. And even though exposing his whole self was daunting, he did it every time. For Sound.

And Win wanted to be the same for him. He wanted Sound to feel so comfortable with him that he wouldn't hesitate to show everything, even those parts of himself he kept firmly tucked away from everyone else.

So, Win leaned forward to land a delicate kiss to Sound's cheek. "At first, I was shocked. But it was so nice seeing you relaxed like that." He stroked Sound's hair, running his fingers through those dyed strands. "Honestly, I loved it."

Sound attempted to hide his face with the blanket again, but Win's firm grip on the fabric didn't allow it. Sound sighed, resigned to his fate of letting Win watch as the flush spread down to his neck. "You're such a weirdo, I should've known. Of course you'd love being called P'Win."

Win grinned, poking his thumb into the spot where Sound's dimple would be if he were smiling. His other hand was still holding the blanket, refusing to let his lover hide from him. "Apparently you already did know. That's why you called me that, to get my attention, right?"

Sound scoffed, but he didn't duck away from Win's touch nor dodge the kiss Win pressed to his other cheek. And that told him all he needed to know, really.

"Don't be ridiculous, I was just drunk." Sound's protests were weak, not even an ounce convincing. Still, Win decided to be nice and move on, only because there was something more important he wanted to discuss.

"It wasn't just that. I loved seeing you acting all cute and soft." Sound opened his mouth, probably to deny that he'd ever been cute, but Win pressed a finger against his lips before he could speak. "Sound, we're boyfriends. You don't have to be embarrassed. I want you to be comfortable when you're with me."

Maybe there was some residual softness lingering in Sound, because he all but melted against the mattress. His big, beautiful eyes spoke for him, so much so that he didn't even need to use his words to convey how safe he felt around Win. Even still, he spoke as soon as Win removed his finger from his lips.

"Do you think I would've acted like that if I wasn't comfortable with you?" Then Sound was the one stroking his cheek, the touch light and feathery. "I trust you, Win. With everything."

And now Win was the one melting, even moreso when Sound leaned forward to press kisses on his face. Sound felt the same way about his freckles as he felt about Sound's moles. So he knew his lover was pressing his lips against those freckles dotting his face, and Win let him. He always did. He didn't have the heart to act like it bothered him.

"You don't have to hide anything from me, Sound. I'm not going anywhere."

Sound grinned, pressing their lips together. But rather than kissing him, he spoke directly against Win's mouth. "I know, I couldn't get rid of you if I tried." Then he actually did kiss him, but only for a moment. "I don't plan on trying, though."

That was it. Win's non-existent self-control snapped and he rolled over, laying on top of Sound. "Nong Sound is being so cute this morning, you must want even more of my attention." He attacked Sound's cheeks with kisses, even pausing a few times to lick him. It was a callback to last night, but also, Win just loved tasting his sun-kissed skin.

"You're so annoying!," Sound complained, but it was through laughter. The prettiest sound Win had ever heard, the sound of his lover filled with joy. And if Win didn't already know that Sound was loving the attention, his lover's arms found his waist, holding him firmly. Keeping him there, on top of Sound.

The possessiveness of the gesture had him dizzy, and it didn't help when Sound turned his head purposefully to capture one of Win's kisses on his mouth instead of his cheek.

"I love you, Hia Win."

Sound was smirking, teasing him. He was so cheeky. But Win wasn't going to be beat, not this time. Because while Sound may have figured out how badly Win wanted to take care of him, Sound was just as happy to be taken care of.

"I love you, Nong Sound." He replied smugly, then dove down to shower his boyfriend with more kisses.

Win had no idea that a simple night out would lead to his feelings for Sound impossibly growing. He already loved Sound with every fiber of his being, every hair on his head, every cell in his body.

And yet, as he lathered kisses on every inch of his boyfriend's beautiful face, he knew his love would continue to expand with each passing day. His feelings would become larger than life itself, if they weren't already. He'd become nothing more than a Sound Saran Loving machine.

Then Sound was using his grip on Win to flip them over, knocking the breath out of Win's lungs. And Sound gave as good as he got, spoiling him with kisses all over.

Maybe, just maybe, Sound's love for him would increase in the same way. And they'd get lost in each other. Nobody would know one without knowing the other. They'd be tied together for the rest of time, just Win and Sound.

As he was getting kissed within an inch of his life, he knew only one thing.

If he was destined to spend eternity with anyone, he was glad it was Sound Saran.
