Summary
With no sunlight to bend towards, what becomes of the sunflower left behind? It was doomed to wither. Beautiful, vibrant yellow petals would give way to pale, straw-colored memories of what once was. Such wisps of the past threatened to crumble at the slightest touch, laying waste to the beauty the flower once inhabited.
So, too, would Lava crumble to dust without Wave shining upon him. Wave showed him that he didn't have to play the part of a delinquent forever, misguided and misunderstood. He could bloom beautifully, just like a sunflower. Wave had given him the care he needed to blossom into his truest form. Only for him to fold in on himself as soon as his source of light disappeared, forever changed and forever incomplete.

“Pretty,” Toey repeated, breathier this time. But his gaze had strayed up to Q’s face.
Q swallowed around nothing, and he knew his face was reddening by the second because he could feel the heat gathering in his cheeks, a raging inferno threatening to swallow him whole. “What?,” he croaked out, all other words failing him.
Toey was just as red, but he didn’t shy away. Instead, he reached up to brush an unruly lock of Q’s hair away from his forehead. His skin tingled where Toey’s soft fingers grazed against it. “Has anyone ever told P’Q that he’s so pretty?"
And, well, how could he not fall for Toey when he said things like that?
