They’d been trying to rescue Yukiko for days now. Every time they entered the TV world, they got closer and closer to finding her. Teddie said they were almost there. Just another push, and they’d manage it.
Yosuke was starting to run out of energy, though. All the sleepless nights had been wearing on him.
Maybe that was why he hadn’t managed to dodge the attack. He’d seen it coming, a cracking Zio, but hadn’t gotten out of the way in time. He’d never get used to the feeling. White-hot electricity coursing through his body, setting his nerves alight. It felt like having a heart attack. He couldn’t breathe. He couldn’t breathe. His ears were ringing.
Was this death? Was he dying? Would anyone even find his body?
Would Yu and Chie just leave him here?
Would they–
“Yosuke!” Yu’s voice dragged him out of his own head, as the Wild Card cured the fear ailment the Laughing Table inflicted on Yosuke with an Evil Smile. “Are you okay?”
Yosuke couldn’t help it. He immediately broke down. The weight of it all hit him all at once.
They were just kids. What were they doing, trying to find a killer?
