Work Text:
Lake was extremely tired, but they just couldn't get their brain to turn off.
This was a common issue they faced, leading to rather severe, chronic insomnia. The amount of all-nighters they'd pulled in their short life following their existence as a reflection wasn't even funny, it was frankly just sad.
Sleeping next to Jesse helped, they found. Something about that boy's presence made all the noise in their head quiet down, and they felt sleepy around him.
"I'm so tired" they said dejectedly, wishing they could just rest. Jesse held them close, hoping that his warmth would help.
"I've got you" he told them in a low, soothing voice. "It's okay"
And then, like that, they were out like a light.
