   She stood, her legs unsteady as she stepped back toward the door. Damian watched her, his heart aching with every step she took away from him.

   “Goodbye, Damian,” she said softly, her voice carrying the weight of everything they’d been.

   “Goodbye, Marinette,” he replied, his voice barely audible.

   And then she was gone, leaving him alone on the rooftop with only the memories of what they had shared.
