Work Text:
Ash sat on the edge of Eiji’s bed. The lights dim, an orange hue set the warm ambience in their shared bedroom. Eiji sat beside him, his damp black hair clinging to his forehead, a towel slipping off his shoulder, his pajamas sticking to his body.
Eiji’s fingers twisted nervously as he played with the towel before setting it aside. A blush bloomed on his face, carefully and slowly spreading to his entire body as he felt the overwhelming need stop the straining he was feeling recently. A question that tugges at his heart every time he looked at Ash.
“Can I kiss you?”
His voice was delicate and trembling, yet bold for someone like him.
The question lingered. Ash didn’t move, didn’t speak. His face was turned to the floor, making his expression unreadable. Then, with a soft exhale, he shifted, making the bed creak as he turned to face Eiji.
“...Do you know how many men I have kissed?”
Eiji blinked, his breath hitching in his throat. His heart stammered, hearing the distant tone of Ash’s voice. His skin turned cold as he felt a droplet of water making its way down his back.
Ash turned to him fully now, strands of golden hair falling into his eyes. “A lot,” he continued. He sighed, eyes heavy with something too painful, spoiled to say at this moment.
“Do you know how many of them… asked me if they could kiss me before kissing me?” He paused, “None.”
Eiji stiffened. His lips parted, but no words came out. His heart pulsed in his ears, staring at Ash’s eyes.
Ash’s voice was gentler now but tainted with something raw and aching. “But you offered me a kiss. Why?”
Eiji felt like his heart could explode right then and there.
But he sat still. He turned his gaze away from Ash, the flush crept down his neck, warm and relentless, his chest tightening with every beat of his heart. “Such a fool question to ask.”
Eiji turned his head away, unable to bear the weight of embarrassment any longer. “I just…wanted to know if…you wanted to kiss me too.”
Ash’s eyes lifted, glowing in the quiet light as his expression softened entirely.
He leaned closer, the distance between them lessening inch by inch. Eiji’s breath caught as Ash closed his eyes, their lips meeting in silence.
