Adrien smiles as he eats breakfast with Nathalie, smiles as he walks through the halls of his new lycée, smiles as people stop him on the street and tell him time and time again what a "hero" his father was.
(Adrien wishes he could've been a hero, too. He should've been. Maybe then his father would still be alive.)
(But he's surviving. Everyone may be treating him as though he were made of glass, but he can still go through the motions, he can prove them wrong, he can still smile.)

Summary
Vi twists one of her hands around again, eyes flicking down to take a look at Caitlyn’s work, now that Caitlyn is distracted from it. There’s still clear evidence of her earlier breakdown, of her losing it against the walls of her cell because it was the only thing around that she could take out her anger on. Her fear. Her guilt.
But the hand is clean now, and some of the cracks along her knuckles that had started to bleed are already closing up, leaving the mere trace of what could have been a scar but is now just healing skin.
