A blue light. That was the first thing Sam saw when he opened his eyes. Although, it wasn’t like any kind of light he had seen before. This was more of a… shimmer. It left a sheen on everything it touched. The fragments of their ship. The strange surface beneath Sam’s feet. The top of Bucky’s head as he lay in the dirt, staring up at the sky.
When revered astronaut Steve Rogers' spaceship disappeared without a trace, those he left behind mourned him. In particular, his two closest friends, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. A year later, an anomaly is detected close to Steve's last known location, forcing the unlikely pairing of Sam and Bucky to work together to solve Steve's disappearance. Living in close proximity to each other on mission CAELUM-19, the duo must make difficult decisions in the most pressurised environment imaginable, all while Bucky continues to mourn Steve's death. The man who he once loved, but who he never expressed his feelings to, and while Sam deals with Bucky's temperamental nature and his changing feelings towards him. Will they find Steve alive, giving Bucky and Steve another chance, or will Sam and Bucky's relationship blossom under the circumstances?
