Neera Nikto is a shy but kind-hearted seventeen year old Resaran girl who wants to become an astronomer, but she ends up with a lot more of a taste of the stars than she bargained for when she comes face to face with a human space explorer, the brazen Dr. Martin Keates, who's gotten in over his head along with his commanding officer upon their arrival on Resaaris.
Making it their mission to do so, Neera and her friends resolve to help Martin find his missing Captain and make it back to his ship, the Hemera, all while hiding him from the Erellan authorities - including staying one step ahead of a men in black government organisation and a military General who's particularly obsessed with capturing him.
No amount of movies they've seen can quite prepare the friends for what's about to unfold, but there'll be plenty of emotional growth and bonding along the way.
