Work Text:
Lycaon was the first to wake up. He blinked his eye a few times to get used to the light blinding him. Huh, he maybe forgot to close the curtains properly last night. With a sigh, he made a move to sit up to prevent any more light to seep through and get started on breakfast while he was at it, but a hand stopped him from going any further.
"Lycaon..."
The thiren looked down at the person snuggling beside him. His heart thumped at the sight he was met with.
Wise appeared to still be sleepy, yet his hand was holding onto Lycaon's tightly, practically pulling him back into a cuddle session. Who was Lycaon to say no?
The white wolf lifted the covers so he could slip under it properly. Once he was comfortable, he pulled Wise into his embrace and pushed his nose into his lover's messy bed hair, earning a giggle from the aforementioned man.
"Already up so early, Lycaon?" Wise teased.
"My apologies, dearest. I've...forgotten that today was our day off."
It was rare for both Wise and Lycaon to find time for relaxation, as they were such busy people. Considering they were quite the workaholic, they could go on for a week or so of not seeing each other, but it would be a lie if they didn't miss one another. Wise was the first one to reach out, asking if Lycaon had a spare time so they could go out for coffee or to the cinema.
Upon hearing the distress in Wise's voice, Lycaon immediately asked his employer if he was allowed to request a downtime and was relieved when it was approved right away.
That was the best decision. Now, there was no Proxy nor video store managing for Wise and no Agent nor housekeeping work for Lycaon. They were given a rare few days to just bask in each other's company, so they were going to make the most of it.
"Come on. You've worked so hard lately, Lycaon. Let's enjoy today and the next couple of days catching up, yeah?" Wise said as he pulled back slightly to look into the other man's eyes, his movements causing the duvet to slip off his body, revealing his bare body.
Lycaon couldn't help his staring, a growl nearly escaping him at the image of his slender lover covered in hickeys that he made. He may had overstepped their love making last night, but it was tempting to claim Wise and have him wore his marks. It had been a while since they got to be intimate, too. Forgive him for being selfish when it comes to what was his.
The wolf reached over to caress Wise's neck, his finger pressing lighty over the bruises. He smiled when it made a blush appear over his beloved's face.
"I hope you'll forgive me." Lycaon whispered against the Proxy's lips.
"Please. I'm yours."
The two lovebirds spent another hour or so in bed, lazily kissing and touching, holding one another tightly until it was time to leave their bed when Wise's stomach decided to interrupt.
"Oops." Wise cheekily said.
Lycaon simply chuckled. "I believe it's time for breakfast, my dear."
"I agree. I'm starving."
"Get dressed. I'll prepare us breakfast." The taller of the two placed a soft kiss on Wise's lips, then, grabbed the nearest garment – a pair of shorts – that was still deemed clean, and slipped it on. He decided to forego a shirt since it was just himself and his lover.
Lycaon made his way to his kitchen and started off by washing his hands before bringing out a pan and some ingredients needed to make their meal.
Wise came down not long after, and Lycaon had to grip the knife he was using to chop off the potatoes a little tighter than usual as he scanned the man up and down.
Of course. Lycaon thought.
The Proxy had to be a tease. He was only wearing Lycaon's shirt, a tad bigger than his physique and the wolf felt like his teenager self, drooling at the sight of Wise's shoulders.
It didn't help that Wise walked around his kitchen like he had lived there for a long time. Like a good (future) wife, he stood on his tiptoes to open the cabinets, taking out the mugs and packet of instant coffee like he knew they were stored there.
Something stirred within Lycaon the more he watched. The whole thing felt rather domestic. It was as if they were meant to wake up next to each other in the morning and make breakfast together. Wise seemed to know his way around his house now. Would Lycaon be called crazy if he really wanted to slip a ring onto Wise's finger there and then–
"Lycaon. Here's your coffee. I made it the way you like it!" Wise cheerfully chimed in, snapping the thiren back to reality. So it wasn't a dream.
Lycaon coughed into his fist. "Thank you, Wise. You may relax for now as I cook our meal."
Wise giggled, and Lycaon felt himself fall a little more.
A comfortable silence settled upon them as Lycaon finished up the cooking while Wise sipped on his coffee, a serene expression on his face.
It made Lycaon think a little more. This was relaxation at its finest. He didn't think he'd ever reach this level of contentment. As someone with a rough background, he grew up craving the stable life. He wondered if it was even possible, and he was glad that he managed to achieve what he always wanted.
Lycaon was glad that in the process of finding himself, he met Wise.
The gentle, kindhearted video store manager, who just happened to lead a double life of danger and chaos as the legendary Proxy, Phaethon.
When they first met, Lycaon was wary, but after helping with their mission and even spending time together outside of their work a few times, Lycaon found himself admitting that he was entranced with the man.
He may have won the lottery. Wise was everything he wanted, and more.
"Mmh, smells good." Wise said once Lycaon plated his breakfast and placing it in front of him.
"I hope you'll enjoy it."
"Don't mind if I do."
Lycaon exhaled a laugh out as he sat himself down at the dining table to eat his own meal.
"Good?"
Wise nodded, his cheeks puffed out like a squirrel.
"Thish ish weally gud."
"Wise. Please swallow your food before speaking." Lycaon reprimanded his young lover gently.
"Sorry. I couldn't wait to say that your cooking is really good. Sad I won't be able to eat the food you make when it's time to go back to work." Wise shook his head.
"If it'll make you feel better, I could visit you during work to give you a homemade meal each time."
Wise shook his head, a fond smile stretching on his lips.
"No, no, it's okay, Lycaon. I'd rather eat your food like this...in your house and alone with no one to bother us." Wise shrugged, pointing his fork to the other. "Besides, I don't think I want to share it with anyone else."
Lycaon swallowed hard. He agreed wholeheartedly to only cooking for his lover. No one was an exception. (Unless it was his sister. Lycaon do need her approval.)
"Ah. I almost forgot. We are going out today, right?" Wise asked after a moment of them not talking to finish their food.
Lycaon hummed, lost in thoughts.
"Yes. We would be able to leave before noon."
"Great! Let me wash the dishes since you cooked. If we are to leave by noon, you should get ready first."
"Very well, then. I will be waiting for you."
Lycaon gave a curt nod towards his lover, thanking him by pressing a soft kiss to Wise's forehead. Like the gentleman he was, the thiren still gathered the plates and mugs, bringing them to the sink.
("Ugh, just go!" Wise shook his head fondly, pushing Lycaon out the kitchen. "I got this!")
Lycaon went straight to laying out his clothes on the bed, as well as Wise's so they won't waste any more time. They had a whole day planned out, curtesy of Wise who was much more familiar with the city and where all the best date spots were. He admitted to himself that he was quite excited. The giddy feeling he only feels when he's with his lover took over the minute he woke up. He found himself looking forward to the date, even when it wasn't the first time.
Perhaps with Wise, it would always feel like the first time.
Lycaon cleared his throat. Focus, Lycaon. Focus.
As the wolf tucked the ascot tie into the vest, Wise walked into the room, all bright and stunning, despite only wearing Lycaon's shirt.
"Wow. You look so handsome." The Proxy commented, eyes completely fixated on Lycaon.
"Thank you. You look dashing yourself, Master Wise. Please, let me assist you." Lycaon replied as he handed over Wise's clothes to him.
"I could have done this myself, Lycaon." Wise cooed, but did nothing to push the older man away.
A few minutes went by and Wise was all dressed up, ready for the day. The Proxy fixed himself a bit more in front of the full body length mirror situated at the very corner of Lycaon's bedroom. Something about seeing Wise like that, in his bedroom, (previously) in his clothes, eating together, waking up next to him. Was it too fast for him to say–
"Wise."
Wise stopped trying to tame his hair to glance Lycaon, that smile Lycaon love curled on his lips.
"Yeah?"
Lycaon inhaled slowly.
"If...If I were to retire from the Agent life...would you follow suit?"
The Proxy tilted his head to the side, confusion etched on his face.
"You mean...retiring from being a Proxy?"
"Yes."
"If my goals are also achieved by the time you decided to step down from being an Agent, then yes. I'll also retire." Wise pursed his lips. "Why?"
Lycaon's tail swished from side to side.
"If it is possible, forgive me for my selfish desire, but I would love to settle down with you. We could buy a house, build a family." He sighed, striding across the room to wrap an arm around Wise's waist. "It is far too early...but I'm already envisioning a future where you are by my side."
Lycaon was not the type to be too honest with his feelings. Those moments were rare. Wise – the respectful young man he was – wouldn't question it and would even reassure Lycaon that he didn't mind. He knew Lycaon loved him.
Still, it never cease to render Wise speechless whenever Lycaon blurts them out in a time of vulnerability.
"Oh, Lycaon." Wise tutted, cupping Lycaon's cheeks.
"I apologies."
Wise rubbed the apple of his cheek.
"No, no. Don't apologise. What for? You didn't even ask me how I feel."
"I'm sor-"
"Hush, Lycaon."
The thiren gazed into Wise's eyes, the beautiful colours of blue and grey enraptured him.
"That was the first time you revealed a piece of your heart to me. Not saying that you haven't, but it made me really happy that you told me that."
Lycaon didn't realise he was smiling.
"Is that so...? Does this mean that you also...?"
Wise chuckled. On his tip toes, he placed a kiss on the top of Lycaon's nose, making the other's tail wrap around his leg.
"My heart is yours, Lycaon. I'll say yes a million times, and more."
