Work Text:
I’ll show you what I mean
Just between
You and me
When I say
I fell for you
Like an early spring snow
An unexpected expectation l fear
So suddenly; so pure
I did not plan for this
Nor did I know to.
But here I am, crystalline
In the morning light
Transformed by your presence
Like frost on new leaves
Delicate, destined to fade
Yet leaving traces
In the softened earth below
Where seeds of something deeper
Take root without permission
In soil I thought was frozen through
And as the seasons turn their page
Each snowflake's memory remains
In streams of melting courage
That carve new paths through ancient plains
I find myself surrendering
To nature's sweetest ploy—
How winter's last white whisper
Becomes spring's first joy
I am brought anew
Like everything before
An urge to love you more
Than I could ever do before.
Long have I burried deep
These feelings that I keep
Now, my captain, my love
Say you return my affections
That I now confess to you.
And in this moment, suspended
Like snowflakes in still air,
I await your answer—knowing
That whether you catch me or let me fall,
I've already been transformed
By the courage it took to drift
From my comfortable clouds
Into your warming hands.
For some risks are worth taking,
Some confessions worth making,
Even if spring's tender snow
Must melt to help love grow.
