Chapter 1: Surprise adoption (kidnapping :3)

Chapter Text

Null was tired, even after days of travelling he hadn't escaped the cult's watchful gaze, turning at every noise expecting the worst, today the worst had happened.

-

Circa 5 pm Null was making dinner for Timothy, the usual chatter of dinner time was silenced by a somber mood. "Cheer up buddy, i'm making your favourite. Mac 'n' Cheese!", Timothy was unimpressed.

"Thanks.. are you sure we're safe here? i don't want to lose you." timothy looked to the ground, they had barely escaped a kidnapping attempt made by the Eye's of Unix, Timothy's eyes started to water "I don't-I don't want the cult to get you," Timothy wiped tears from his eyes. Null reached a hand to his cheek wiping the tears from timothy's eyes.

"Don't worry about me bud, i'll be fin-" right on queue the front door is heard being busted open. Timothy looks in horror towards the direction of the sound. "Timothy, listen very closely, find a room and lock yourself in it ok?"

"But what about you?" Timothy hadn't stopped crying, wiping tears from his face.

"Don't worry about that," Null carefully sneaked out of the room to not alert the intruder. Timothy followed Null's instructions to hide inside himself in a locked room, he chose the kitchen pantry. He quietly sobbed as he heard a mess of shattered glass, grunts and thuds until finally everything stopped and the only noise outside the cupboard is of a body being dragged which he hoped with all heart wasn't Null.

-

Null slowly blinked out his eyes, everything felt dizzy and constricting, as he focused more he realized his situation, he was tied up to the sail pole of a boat (that explains feeling constricted), a figure manned the steering wheel (whom Null presumed to be his attacker) but he was the only crew on the boat, strange. As Null looked around his surroundings he realized that he couldn't even see land anymore, there was only a thick fog surrounding the ocean around them. Null tried to fight against his restraints but couldn't, only groaning in frustration alerting the other figure of his wake-ness, the figure turned.

"I see you're awake," The figure left the steering wheel (shit move but pop off i guess) and walked over to Null,

"Who the hell are you?" Null questions the figure, his voice raspy from lack of use. The figure responds such,

"The names Sailor but that information wont be important to you for long," Sailor circled Null's position, pulling on the ropes that restrained him to check for any imperfections.

Null winced at the pulling of the ropes, "Real pleasure to meet you Sailor, very creative name I see. I'm Null," that comment earned him a kick to the knee by Sailor.

"I know your name already," Sailor turned and headed for the small cabin at the end of the boat, just as Null was about to ask how he knew his name Sailor said "and don't ask me why. Now don't make a ruckus while I'm inside." After a while Sailor came back outside to man the ship simultaneously stuffing some sort of object into his pocket.

-

Null had attempted conversation as he would with any other person but Sailor... oof, he was just impossible, every attempt was either met with silence or a 'why the fuck are you so calm, I literally kidnapped you' or 'why should I tell you' (this one in particular was null asking where they were going) even an occasional'shut up'. Null had somehow met the least sociable person in the world while getting kidnapped, fantastic!

"Y'know I thought maybe a bit of conversation would warm you up to me, seems I was wrong," Null continued to try talking to Sailor only to be met with silence, "Have you ever thought a bit of company might do you good? I'd consider it" Sailor glared at Null from the steering wheel, "Ever considere-" Null was cut-off by Sailor.

"Fucks sake, do you ever shut up?!" Sailor snapped, "Ya sound like a bloody mosquito."

"Can't do anything about my free speech." Null softly laughed to himself, Sailor couldn't do anything to shut him up at this point. Null was met with sailor striding towards him finally unveiling the object that had been stuffed inside his pocket, a rag. Sailor got close grabbed Nulls face and wrapped a rag across his head while Null was desperately trying to avoid getting gagged, he failed. 'Motherfucker could shut me up, damn it'. As Sailor headed back the steering wheel he muttered to himself,

"Finally, peace and quiet."

-

It seemed like hours of null being alone with his thoughts and with sailor being an antisocial prick until land came into view, it certainly wasn't the chain realm, they might've switched realms while null was deep in his own thoughts. sailor docked his ship onto the docks, the sky was a lot darker than when null was at home it was likely into the deep hours of the night, 'i wonder how timothy's doing', Null hoped he'd get out this situation fast and get back to Timothy. Figures along the visible land stayed still, silent... eerily so, all of them cloaked figures, masks painted with a single eye covering their faces, the eyes of Unix.

Sailor approached Null, unwrapping the ropes around him, tying a new one around his hands. Null was lead by him onto the dock and one of the cloaked figures approached, "Thank you Sailor, we'll take him from here." The figure grabbed Null's rope and rather harshly dragged him along to a building, Null looked back to Sailor as he was pulled away, seeing only an unreadable expression on his face as he light a cigarette.

As Null was pulled along the figure and him approached a dark building, it stood tall and there was an ominous feeling to it, there were bars at the few windows on the wall and little liveliness if any at all, it was a jail.

-

The heavy doors slammed shut as Null was thrown inside, the ropes on his hands had not been removed 'great'. Null had unfortunately been stripped of his chains and was essentially defenseless, he needed to stop being so dependent on his chains and actually get good defensive strategies in case of these situations. Unfortunately Null was absolutely exhausted to less thinking about that and more sleeping.
