   Summary

   Exeter, England, 1834—Sixteen-year-old witch Miriam Gorsemoor was the daughter of a healer, and training to be one herself, whether it suited her or not. One summer evening, a mysterious patient was dropped on their infirmary doorstep, with barely a drop of blood left in him. His arrival would shift the course of her life and lead her into the mysteries of Hogwarts, the re-discovery of ancient magic, old Brythonic wizardlore, and her role in the eventual defeat of the goblin, Ranrok, more than fifty years in the future. And, of course, into the path of the young wizard, Eleazar Fig.
