“You’ve been staring at the sky for ten minutes, Icyhot. You expecting it to start snowing money or something?” Katsuki leaned back against the cold metal of the dorm roof, breaking the silence.
Todoroki didn't tear his gaze from the night sky, “It’s peaceful. Up here, everything feels far away.”
Katsuki snorted. “Yeah, far away and freezing. Could’ve picked a better place to be a brooding cliché.”
“That’s rich, coming from you.”
Katsuki scowled but didn’t argue, the rooftop becoming quiet once again. In the far corner, Shinso and Kaminari sat side by side, sharing a blanket. Kaminari’s laugh drifted over to them as Shinso muttered something into his ear.
“You’re lucky those two don’t feel cold,” Katsuki muttered, nodding toward them, “Otherwise, they’d be bitching nonstop.”
“I like it,” Todoroki said, his voice softer now. “The cold. It reminds me of where I came from... but also of how far I’ve come.”
Katsuki eyed him as he raised an eyebrow, “Cheesy as hell, Half-and-Half. But... you’re not wrong.”
Kaminari leaned into Shinso’s side, “You think Blasty is mellowing out?”
Shinso smirked. “Not a chance. He just saves his fire for the people he actually cares about.”
Kaminari chuckled as he pulled the blanket tighter around them. "Yeah, guess you're right. But it’s still kinda sweet. In his own terrifying way."
Shinsou raised an eyebrow. "Sweet isn't the word I'd use, but sure." He looked to where Katsuki and Todoroki sat. Katsuki was probably ranting about something, while Todoroki listened like always, a faint smile at his lips.
“Still,” Shinsou added, “it works. Somehow.”
Kaminari tilted his head, watching as Katsuki leaned closer to Todoroki, his voice going softer by the second. It almost felt like they were intruding on a private moment between them. The stars above them seemed to glow a little brighter.
“They’re like the sky, huh?” Kaminari murmured in thought.
“What?” Shinsou gave him a look.
“Blasty is the thunderstorm, loud and chaotic, and Todoroki’s, like... a clear icy night. Different vibes, but they make the same sky.” Kaminari smiled. “Kinda cool, right?”
Shinsou smirked. “You’re such a sappy nerd.”
“And you love me it.” Kaminari grinned, leaning in to press a quick kiss to Shinsou’s cheek.
“Yeah, yeah,” Shinsou muttered, trying and failing to hide the faint blush creeping up his neck. “Let’s not turn this into a Hallmark movie.”
