She closed her eyes, breathing through her fear. “Okay,” she whispered. “I agree to your terms.”
Caitlyn’s smile widened, her eyes gleaming with triumph. The icy blue faded, replaced by a deep crimson glow. Her pupils dilated, and her fangs gleamed under the moonlight. Gone was the refined woman Vi knew—before her stood a predator savoring its victory.
“Well,” Caitlyn purred, “it is my dinner time, after all.”
Vi’s heart raced. She nodded, but when Caitlyn’s hand brushed her neck, instinct flared. “Wait!” she blurted.
