The beach was as chaotic as Katsuki had thought. Between Shitty Hair trying to build the “manliest sandcastle ever” and Izuku frantically apologizing for accidentally kicking a volleyball into Frogger's drink, Katsuki’s patience was already wearing thin.
“Idiots,” he grumbled, arms crossed as he stood ankle-deep in the water, glaring at the horizon like the ocean itself offended him. “Who even thought this was a good idea?”
Todoroki sat on a towel nearby, “You agreed to come, didn’t you?”
“Because you wouldn’t shut up about it,” Katsuki shot back.
Behind them, Kaminari and Shinso were tucked under the shade of a beach umbrella, sharing headphones and passing a bag of spicy chips back and forth. “Blasty's in his natural habitat,” Kaminari mused.
“What, angry?” Shinso replied.
“Like a chihuahua.”
Meanwhile, Todoroki stood up and walked into the surf. “Come in, Katsuki. The water’s nice.”
Katsuki stared at him, “What part of ‘I don’t like swimming’ didn’t you get, Half-and-Half?”
“I think you’re scared,” Todoroki teased lightly as he waded deeper.
“Like hell I am!” Katsuki growled before he stomped into the waves.
From their spot, Kaminari and Shinso chuckled as they watched Katsuki splash Todoroki who promptly dunked him under water.
Later, as the sun began to set, Katsuki sat on the sand beside his boyfriend, grumbling about salt water and the stupid beach, but he didn’t move away when Todoroki leaned on him. Kaminari and Shinso walked past as they held hands, on their way to the class bonfire. “Told you he’d end up having fun,” Kaminari whispered.
Shinso smirked. “He just doesn’t know it yet.”
