Chapter 1: Arriving
Chapter Text
Legend was starting to feel homesick. The chain hasn’t been to his Hyrule yet and he is starting to worry. Legend misses his husband and his sister. And all he wants to do is to sit down in front of the fire place at home and cuddle with Ravio. Is that so much to ask?
Legend wakes up with a start. Everyone can feel the pull, even when asleep. The chain start to pack, knowing a portal will arrive soon. But all Legend can think about is that they might end up in his time.
”Hey! Earth to Legend!” Legend realizes that Warriors is in front of him and wave his hand inches away from his face.
”Tch, I’m fine. What’s up?”
”Are you sure? You seem really spacy.” Great now Hyrule is worrying. Thanks a lot Warriors.
”I said, I’m Fine” said Legend.
…am I that obvious?
The portal opened and once everyone was ready they entered. What they weren’t, they never are, expecting is to start falling from the sky. With all the screaming you would probably hear them from Hyrule castle.
once everyone was up and accounted for they looked a bit to see if anyone recognized the surrounding area.
Legend knew that everyone saw how his face lit up. “This is my timeline.”
”Great. Since this your time, you lead” said Time.
”Alright.” Legend was ecstatic to know he was home and from what he could see not to far from the castle.
After an hour, they finally arrive to Castle town. “Ok, since we are in my Hyrule, you listen to me. Got it? Good! Stay away from any and all guards, I will not explain why.”
”Ok Ok Ok, can we just go now? I’m tired.” Wind groaning immediately after.
”yes yes, we won’t talk to the guards” said Warriors in a sarcastic tone.
”Hey! I’m being serious, don’t talk to them.”
“Alright jeez, what’s got you on edge” questioned Warriors
“Nothing…, let’s just go. Ok?” Sighed Legend. God is he tired, he needs to get to the castle so he can lay in bed with his husband…hopefully Ravio is there.
There were various sounds of agreement. The chain stayed hidden from the guards and followed Legend. Time noticed that each minute Legend was getting faster and it was getting harder to follow him. Once the chain reached the gates, they noticed that they couldn’t avoid the guards now, with them guarding the entrance and all.
“Uh, hey Legend we can’t exactly stay away from guards now. What are we going to do?”
‘Thank you rulie for voicing this’ thought the chain.
“We’re going to go in” Legends voice was tight and barely above a whisper. Now this worried the chain because Legend is there sarcastic, relaxed but sometimes angry brother and this was not him.
“We could always find a different way in.” Suggested the rancher. He was always looking out for his brothers and if one was uncomfortable then he will find another way.
“It’s fine.”
The chain didn’t find that reassuring but they listened. They walked up to the gate and were immediately stopped”
“State your business” said the guard.
“We’re here to see Zelda. So move. Out. Of. My. Way.” Legend tried to muster up as much of a glare he could. He hated how much he was still scared to be near guards.
“Fine.” The guard turned around and shouted to open the gate.
They entered the castle and stared to walk down hall after hall. Legend said that they were heading to where Zelda most likely will be right now. But wow…I mean WOW! The castle looked amazing like, like it had just been polished top to bottom. Even a broom looked beautiful.
What got Sky’s attention the most was a certain portrait on the wall.
“Wait is- no it can’t be- unless” muttered Sky.
“What can’t be?” Asked Time.
“Uh, well-um, I think this portrait is of me and Sun.”
Everyone clambered around the portrait and sure enough it was. Legend knew that this would happen and that this is just one step closer to them finding out he is the prince of Hyrule.
“Legend! Did you know about this painting?” Hylia, Legend was such a sucker for kids. I mean four looks so happy looking up at him with a glimmer in his eyes.
“I’ve seen it before, but genuinely forgot it was there.” It wasn’t a lie. He did forget when they all first met but he put it together that he was Sky’s descendant the moment they figured out he was the first king of Hyrule.
“This means you’re my successor, huh, that’s pretty cool.” Sky flashed his signature smile. He just found out that his successor was Legend and though they didn’t see eye to eye sometimes, he was so glad that it was him.
“Uh, yeah, it is pretty cool.” Legend couldn’t help but smile.
After all the commotion, they continued to walk. They ended up in what seemed to be a dining room. There at the end of the table sat Fable reading a book. Fable looked up from her book and she immediately stood up. She raced toward Legend tackling him in a tight hug.
“Link! Oh, how have you been? How I missed you.” Fable held a legend close, like he was going to disappear the moment she let go.
“I missed you too Zel and I’m fine. But I would like you to meet The Chain.”
Everyone introduced themselves starting with Sky and ending with Time.
“It is lovely to meet you Fable. My name is Time.”
“Hello! Oh, I’ve heard of you from Link-er Legends letters. Actually all he writes about is you all.” Announced Fable. Hylia why did his sister half to say that to everyone. Warriors will never letting him live this down.
“Oh, I’m sure you’re all very hungry. Come sit down and eat.”
As everyone sat down, maids started to bring out food. Wind like the pirate he is dug in the first chance he got. Twilight and Warriors started telling him that he was being impolite. Wild stopped a maid to ask for some recipes. Time and Sky started to talk about their partners. Hyrule and Four talked about fairies and minish caps. Legend felt content. He usually didn’t like being in the castle but here with his family it was pleasant. Then Fable said it.
“How have your adventures been with my brother ?”
Never mind, this is the worst.
Chapter Text
“Wait…What?” It seemed that Wind spoke for all of them when he asked.
“Princess, what do you mean by brother?” Asked Four.
“Oh, did he not tell you? Li-Legend is my older brother! All though we didn’t know until the end of his first adventure.” Dear the goddesses, why Fable. I could have gone forever without them ever even thinking this.
Sky, who had been silent this whole time, was looking down at his lap. Legend had a bad feeling about his reaction. ‘What he gets mad at me for hiding this? I mean, he is my ancestor.’ That was what Legend could think about while everyone was talking over themselves.
Suddenly, Sky got up from his seat and walked over to Legend. The room that was once loud, was filled with silence. ‘What is he going to do?’ That thought was spread across the table. Sky grabbed Legend by the shoulders and forced him to stand.
“Uh…Sky, you good buddy?” Not the time Wild.
Sky was still for a moment before he forced Legend into a hug. His eyes brimmed with tears of joy.
“Does this mean you’re my descendant? Wait, of course it does! Omg you’re my descendant!”
…
Okay, Legend was not expecting that.
The room was soon filled with laughter. Soon after, another person spoke up.
“Wait, does this mean you’re the prince of Hyrule!?” Shouted Twilight.
“What do you think it means that I am the princess of Hyrule’s brother?”
“Woah…” said Four.
The chain continued to eat but they kept asking questions throughout the dinner. Legend didn’t have to look at Fable to know she had mischievous glint in her eyes, she was his sister after all.
After dinner, Fable showed them their rooms for the night. Legend went to his room in the castle, he told Fable when they were younger that he didn’t need one but she insisted on it. That night he slept peacefully but it still felt wrong without Ravio.
‘I wonder if I could contact Ravio in the morning? Maybe he will arrive before it is time for the next portal.’
The next morning was quiet. Legend wishes every morning was like this again but this adventure was always full of chaos no matter what. At breakfast the chain explained the problem with the black-blooded monsters. Time asked her if she had heard anything but she said no, but she would keep an eye out.
After breakfast the chain decided to take a break. Everyone was doing their own thing. Warriors and Wind were training. Time and Twilight were in the royal garden heading to where all the horses were. Four was scolding Wild, again, for breaking another sword. Sky was napping on a couch outside and Hyrule was talking to Fable about magic. Legend was resting while reading a book, But he kept getting distracted by watching everyone.
Fable stopped and turned to her brother.
“Hey, Legend!” Shouted Fable.
Looking up from his book, he replied. “Yes?”
“Just a fair warning, I might have invited a certain someone to come! I told him that you were back!”
‘Huh? What does she mean? Who does she mean?’
…
‘Unless…’
“Hello?” Said a voice. A familiar one too.
Legend dropped his book to the floor.
Everyone was looking toward the voice.
Legend immediately stood up and turned to see a face he has missed the past couple of months. He breathed out his husband’s name. “Ravio…”
Legend could just tell he was blushing, but he didn’t care. That was his husband. The man he fell in love with and every time he sees his husband, he falls in love all over again.
“Hey Mr. Hero.” Ravio said with a smile. And that smile was all it took for Legend to go racing across the room. Him and Ravio were in each other's arms, forgetting the world around them.
“Ravio! You're here! Hylia, I missed you so much!” Legend was on the verge of tears. His voice breaking.
“I missed you too, bunny.” Goddesses that nickname. It is so embarrassing but it makes his heart melt.
They pulled back to look at each other. Finally, after months of being apart, they kissed. Every time it felt like there were just fireworks sparking. They pulled back once more.
“Umm, sorry to interrupt but what’s going on?” Asked Hyrule. Shit, he forgot about them. Legend and Ravio let go of each other. Now only holding hands.
“Oh, um. Well-uh…” Great explanation Legend.
Legend took a deep breath. Ravio squeezed his hand. He could tell Ravio was nervous too, only knowing the chain from his letters.
“Well, guys, I would like you to meet Ravio. Ravio meet the chain, I already told you about them and sent you photos with their names.”
“Um, hi” Ravio chuckled nervously at the end.
The chain all awkwardly said hi back to Ravio.
“…so, um, are you guys dating?” Asked Wind. Warriors smacked him in the head for being so blunt. This got a couple snickers across the room.
“What the fuck!” Whined Wind.
“Language! And also, you don’t have to tell us.” Said Time in a calm manner.
Legend and Ravio looked towards each other. Silently they came to a conclusion.
“Actually, we’re not dating.” Said Ravio.
Everyone went quiet. They watched and were shocked when Legend said these three words.
“We are married.”
