Chapter Text
Shadow runs away from the prison. He had killed all of the guards a few seconds ago. It felt so good to be able to skate again.
Once he reached solid ground, he slowed down and walked through the city. He looked around at all of the bright lights that were coming from the buildings.
He noticed one of the lit up screens had the current year on it.
"2024? I've been trapped for 50 years?"
It's so bright. The more I stare at it, it makes my eyes sting. Too many lights. I can't believe so much time has passed. I never got a chance to tell her how much she meant to me.
A few cars pulled up and surrounded the black hedgehog. A bunch of police officers came out and held their guns at him.
Shadow looked at all of them, his anger grew and popped up on his face for everyone to see.
"Why won't you leave me alone?"
The officers were ready to shoot at the alien. But they weren't fast enough as he kicked their butts and threw their guns on the concrete street.
After he calmed down, he continued to silently walk through the streets of Tokyo, Japan. He needed to find a place to stay. He couldn't have anyone else trying to look for him.
It started to rain but he was too lost in the memory of Maria's death to care about having wet quills.
He searched for a quiet place to sleep for the night. It wasn't as hard as he thought it would be. He found a mall that was closed and wouldn't be open for a long time.
It looked very new too.
It isn't the same without you, Maria. We could've had so much fun together in place like this.
With no one around to stop him, Shadow went inside and had the best day ever on his first real day on earth.
The whole mall was a mess, and he wasn't going to clean it up.
The humans can take care of this later. I'm going to have the biggest party of my life here. Everyday, and no one will know I was here once I decide to leave.
