Summary
After the war, Voldemort is dead, but so is Ron. Hermione blames herself for his death, feeling guilty as everyone believes she is mourning her lost love. In truth, she never loved Ron Weasley the way he loved her. Working as a dedicated healer, Hermione immerses herself in saving lives, returning home only to her cat. On New Year’s Eve, she lies in bed wishing for something more, knowing deep down that it will never come.
Draco Malfoy, now a famous seeker, seems to have it all with his wife, Pansy Parkinson. Yet, behind closed doors, their relationship is abusive. Pansy often attacks Draco in fits of jealousy, and he hides the truth to protect his family name from scandal. He quietly suffers, determined to shield his mother from more drama.
Then, on New Year’s Eve, Pansy strikes Draco with a dark object, injuring him beyond even his house-elf, Olivie’s, ability to heal. Just as he accepts his fate, Olivie takes him to St. Mungo's, where they find a healer who may save him in more ways than one.
