Chapter Text

**Part One Chapter 1**

I watch on the monitor as it shows the security camera footage from the training grounds. Colors dance on the screen and fill the dark room as everybody watches in anticipation. Right now, students from our school are training with students from Shiketsu High. The person from our class who's up now got paired with this girl with a smoke quirk. She generates smoke from her palms, and if she plays her cards right, she could knock someone out with it. She doesn't know the guy she's paired with, and she doesn't know his quirk. Little does she know that her quirk makes it so much easier for him to catch her.
I watch as she walks slowly down a smoke-filled corridor when suddenly, she trips over something. He's got her. Immediately after she trips, he jumps off of an air duct on the roof and ties her up.

"And with that, Hanta Sero wins!" the loudspeaker announces.

Kirishima and Denki rush over and congratulate him once they were all in the changing room. "Thanks guys!" He gives them that bright smile and starts walking in my direction. I try to say something, but I can't utter a word, and he walks right past me. This is how it typically goes nowadays. So long of ignoring him and treating him like a background character has paid off. The worst part is as soon as he started ignoring me, I realized I had fallen for him. Of all people, I know, I really did lower my standards, but I fell for him quickly and I fell for him hard. I fell more than once, it's like every morning when I see him walk into class, I fall all over again. No one knows, or at least that's what I hope, but It's only a matter of time before Mina realizes.
Mina hangs out with him the most out of all of us, and so I got smart and I got closer to her, because that will get me closer to him too. I actually have plans to hang out with them today, which means I have to stop staring at him and get changed as quick as I can and get to her room.

-

I'm sure they think of me as a third wheel, even if they aren't dating or anything. Mina is a lesbian, so I'm sure they aren't a couple, but I know that there have been some questionable thing that has gone on in this room - if you know what I mean.

"Heyo, Bakugo, you keep spacing out. What's on your mind?" Mina snaps her fingers in front of my face.

"Nothing, get your damn sausage fingers outta my face."

"Okay, sorry, jeez," she opens a bag of Doritos right when Sero walks in.

"Sup?" he sits down on the floor next to me and our shoulders brush a little. God I love when that happens.

"Bakugo's thinking about something," she hands him the chips.

"Thinking? Bakugo, you know how to think?" he looks over to me and snickers.

"Yeah, yeah, quiet," I avoid eye contact and try to change the subject. I'd prefer if he didn't know how I feel just yet. Although, I'm not sure why I'm holding onto the hope that he would like me, he clearly doesn't. Even so, I can't repress these feelings. If I could, I would.

Mina and Sero are talking about something, I don't know and I don't really care all that much. Once again, I kind of space out, and stare at the wall, that is until I stare at him instead. He doesn't notice it, neither does Mina. He has the shiniest, silkiest hair I've ever seen. I love it when he ties some of it up in a ponytail, and I love the way he pushes it behind his left ear. I love his hair, and to be honest, I want so badly to brush it and tie it up for him one day. His eyes are very dark, they look black, but when you look really closely there's speckles of dark brown. His eyes twinkle so brightly, I love his eyes. They really are beautiful.

"Bakugo... I just thought of something crazy..." Mina grabs my attention.

"What."

"I think... You have a crush," oh no. She knows.

"NO I DON'T WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT?! I DON'T GET CRUSHES ON PEOPLE AND EVEN IF I DID, YOU IDIOTS WOULD BE THE LAST PEOPLE I TOLD."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Sero asks.

"I-... It means exactly what I said."

"Yeah, okay. Mina, I'll see you tomorrow in class," he hands her the bag of chips and leaves. I try to go after him, but he closes the door right in my face. I screwed up again.
