There’s a knock at his office door and Jim looks up to see an unfamiliar man standing in the bullpen of the GCPD. He waves for him to come in.
“Commissioner Gordon?” The man asks, hovering in the doorway.
"That's what the name plate says," he replies, tapping the item in question (a gift from his daughter).
The other man's mouth twitches into a half smile. He steps in, hesitates again, then decisively closes the door.
"My name is Phil Coulson," the man says. The name rings a bell. "From SHIELD? I've got some information you might want to hear."
