Welcome to Hellclass

Summary:

Shinsou didn't know what to expect when he transfered to Class 1A, but this was definitely not it.

Work Text:

Looking up at the first building in the line of UA Dorms Shinsou felt a sense of unease.

He had done it. He was finally joining the hero course. It had taken him longer that he would have liked, but after he'd proved himself in the joint training exercise his teachers had seen no point in making him wait until april to join in the new year.

Still even as he stood infront of his dreams he felt a pit growing in his stomach. What if he couldn't keep up?

A hand on his shoulder pulled him away from his thoughs. Turning his head he locked eyes with his mentor and new homeroom teacher. He had been the one to guide him this far. He wouldn't have been able to get this far if it hadn't been for the man taking him under his wing and teaching him how to fight with his non-combatal quirk.

"Welcome to the Hell Class." Aizawa-Sensei nodded his head at the dorms building. He quickly ducked his head back into the folds of his capture weapon to avoid the biting cold of the december day.

Shinsou turned to him. "What?" He deadpanned in disbelief.

"Shinsou!" Shinsou turned recognizing the voice. Turning, he saw Midoriya shuffling up the path behind him. He looked just as cold as Shinsou felt. His nose and cheeks were flushed pink, and paired with his green hair he oddly resembled a strawberry. "Aizawa Sensei." He nodded a polite greeting to his teacher as well.

"Running?" Aizawa asked with a slight raised eyebrown. Midoriya nodded sheepishly letting out a cold puff of air.

"Its supposed to snow tomorrow, so I took an extra long run today since Its really hard to run in the snow. Once they clear the side walks I'll be able to run though so I'll hopefully only miss a day-" The greenette cut himself off flushing even redder as he realized he'd been going on a tangent.

"...Be careful of ice. You dont need to crack your head on the ground." Aizawa warned unfazed by his students muttering. He was used to it at this point. "Go collect your classmates and have them meet me in the common room."

Midoriya's brow furrowed. "Is someone in trouble again? Its not about Todoroki, is it? 'Cause i told him he shouldn't have tried to cook dinner on his hand but he wouldn't listen- Or Koda didn't set his birds after Monama again did he?"

"No ones in trouble this time." Aizawa sighed. "Just go get everyone."

Midoriya spun on his heel disappearing up the dorm steps and into the building.

Shinsou meanwhile looked between his teacher and where Midoriya had dissapeared. "…What have you gotten me into Aizawa Sensei?"

The grin that came across his mentors face sent shivers down his spine. "Its too late to back out now."

Shinsou found himself standing awkwardly infront of his new classmates as they all sat before Aizawa. Each one of them looked like they had been caught with their hand in the cookie jar. All except Bakugo who wore his usual scowl.

They waited paitently for Aizawa to start talking. "As you all know, Mineta was expelled last week." Aizawa finally spoke.

The entire class exchanged glances and suddenly erupted into cheers, highfiving each other and clapping.

"Hallelujah!"

"Yes!"

"Good Riddence!"

Shinsou wondered how they could be so excited about the expulsion of someone who had gone through so much with them.

Aizawa let them celebrate for a moment before he held his hand up to silence them. "As you all know Shinsou was going to be joining your class come spring, however Nedzu saw fit to have him join for this final coming semester."

Shinsou saw every single head turn to look straight at him. Kaminari looked so excited he was sparking. Asui looked pleased. He remembered working with both of them during the joint training.

"No way!" Kaminari shrieked. "Dude this is awesome!"

Midoriya's face lit up in excitement. "Congratulations, Shinsou!" Next to him the blank faced Todoroki was glancing between Hitoshi and Aizawa-Sensei with a strange gleam in his eyes.

Ashido however had linked arms with Uraraka and they both began chanting. "Purple two. Purple Two. Purple two!"

A quick shushing from Iida had them quieting down. "Shinsou, as Class Rep you can come to me if you're in need of assistance. I will be glad to help."

"Welcome to Class 1A." Yaoyorozu added smiling kindly at him.

"Give your new classmate a few days before you cause too much trouble." Aizawa cut in already heading towards the door.

"Aw!!" Ashido groaned.

"But-" Kaminari trailed off at the look Aizawa gave them.

"Behave yourselves and help Shinsou carry his boxes up to Mineta's old room." And with that, he closed the door behind him leaving Shinsou alone.

"Ewwww." Hagakure shuddered. "I hope they steam cleaned everything in there."

"No, there was a lady with a cleaning quirk that cleaned it." Kirishima informed her.

"Shinsou." Turning his head, Shinsou saw that a group had gathered close to him. At its head was Ojiro, one of the 1A Students that he controlled during the sports festival. For moment Shinsou realized that he might still be mad at him for that. That is until he continued. "I can't wait to get to learn with you." He smiled before pointing a thumb over his shoulder. "We're ready to help move your things if you are."

There were rumors about Class 1A.

People said that the entire class was attention seeking and pretentious, thinking that they were better than everyone else. Something Shinsou learned though is that, while the rumors he'd heard where incredibly warped and exaggerated, they all had been entirely warped from actual events.

If Shinsou was forced to descibe them he's have to say they were the most welcoming people he'd ever met. All the rumors that painted them as cold and aloof to outsiders were wrong.

He'd only been there a day and he hadn't even finished unpacking the boxes his new classmates had helped carry before he was invited to the class movie night three seperate times.

Kaminari had been particularly insistent saying they'd saved him the best seat. He had also mentioned on of his classmates, Sato, had baked an Angel Food Cake.

Another knock came at his door, and Shinsou abandoned his unpacking to open the door. Outside his door stood his new next room neighbor Midoriya Izuku.

"What do you want, Midoriya?

The wide eyed hero student didn't seem phased at all by his clipped response. "They're starting the movie down stairs if you want to join in. You don't have to join in, I'm sure its a lot all at once- Everyone's just eally excited to have you join us that they don't think about what you might want. But Kacchan made dinner, its in the kitchen if you get hungry. You're welcome to help yourself." The words tumbled out of his mouth and once he had finished he shut his mouth firmly and went to leave.

"I'll come." Shinsou decided shutting the door behind him.

Midoriya bluescreened, practically rebooting as Shinsou walked up to him. He seemed to have not expected Shinsou to join.

"Thats- That's great!" Midoriya lit up. "I think either Sero or Kaminari will be picking the movie."

Shinsou nodded his reponse stepping into the elevator.

After a twenty second long, awkward elevator ride they arrived on the first floor walking out into the chaos that had erupted while Shinsou was gone.

"Give it up Kaminari!" Sero screeched from where he was hanging from the ceiling by the tape coming out of his elbow. He had the TV remote clutched tight in one hand. "I have the high ground!!"

Kaminari let out a wail from where he was standing on the couch trying to whack Sero with the broom.

"You two had better settle this before Iida gets down here." Ojiro, the voice of reason called out from the kitchen.

Shinsou watched as Sero leapt from his hanging spot onto Kaminari and they began to tussle, remote laying forgotten until a dainty hand scooped it up. Yaomomo turned tucking the remote into her pocket as she headed back to the kitchen.

"Kaminari! Sero!" A voice boomed from the stairwell as Iida emerged, chopping his arm as he began to scold them. "No fighting in the dorm!"

The two sheepishly seperated replying in unison, "Sorry, Class Rep!"

Kaminari glanced around before letting out a shriek. "Where did it go?!"

Yaomomo grinnned sheepishly procuring the remote from her pocket. "Sorry, but I cannot stand watching another Fast and Furious movie." The Girls all let out cheers each suggesting a movie.

"Momo!" Kaminari complained. "I don't want to watch some kind of Masterpiece Period Drama. I see enough of that at my house with my mum."

"Yeah! No Pride or Prejudice." Sero nodded his agreement.

"I wouldn't object to All Creatures Great and Small." Asui croaked.

"Contrary to belief, I do watch other shows. And besides I've already picked a movie." Yaomomo replied sitting down on the sofa next to Todoroki. Todoroki had been sitting there unfazed during the whole tussle for the remote.

"What is it?!" Ashido exclaimed in anticipation.

"Well, Todoroki mentioned that he'd never seen Howl's Moving Castle the other day, so-"

"Studio Gibli?! Oh yeah!" Kirishima cheered launching onto another couch.

"Stop jumping on the couches like that; You'll break them!" Iida chided taking a seat on the floor.

Kaminari noticed Shinsou being one of the only members of the class still standing. "Shinsou! Come sit with me. Sero, scoot over." The two shuffled over creating a spot for Shinsou.

Jammed between Kaminari and Jiro, Shinsou had decent view of the TV straight infront of him. Some of his new classmates were on their phones half watching the movie while others were giving the screen their full attention.

The movie was almost over when he saw a white streak shoot across the room. Then another, and another. Each one of the little balls colided with the sleeping incarnation of an explosion. Finding the source of the balls, he spotted Ashido and Hagakure sitting halfway across the room throwing popcorn at their classmate as they whispered excitedly.

Soon, Uraraka joined in, floating a handful of popcorn and launching it in his direction. The popcorn landed on his face, but he didn't even stirr. Ashido pouted but a mischievous grin quickly replaced it when her eyes locked on to Kaminari's head. She flung a piece of popcorn at him, hitting his cheek.

Kaminari looked around in confusion picking the piece of popcorn. Ashido was inconspicuously watching the TV when Kaminari looked in her direction.

Shinsou watched with growing amusement as Ashido hit her target three more times before Uraraka grabbed a fistfull of popcorn. Ashido franticly tried to stop her, but she launched the entire handful at Kaminari.

Kaminari, who had turned to see what the hushed commotion was about, narrowly avoided the popcorn. Shinsou, who had the sense to duck was lucky to avoid the popcorn. Instead, the fistful of greasy buttered popcorn colided with the side of Jiro's face.

Jiro's eye twitched as her head slowly swiveled to look at Uraraka.

"Oops." Uraraka smiled sheepishly at her but it wasn't enough to calm her. Jiro flung the nearest pillow at her and it colided with her face knocking her into Hagakure.

Then the room seemed to erupt into chaos. Pillows were flying everywhere as the clas burst into action; Asui launched herself over the back of the couch, Yaoyorozu was creating a throw pillow out of her arm, Kirishima immediately hardened and dove towards the nearest pillow, Shoji opened his arms and folded them around himself like a fort, and Aoyama made a mad dash towards the elevator, only for Ashido hit him with a pillow from behind.

A French shriek followed as the pillow colided with him and he thudded to the ground.

"There will be no escape." The pink haired girl declared. It was at that moment that, like a living hive mind, everyone turned to look at Shinsou who was quietly observing the chaos.

A pillow was flung in his direction and it smacked him right in the face.

"There! Now you're a true member of class 1A." Ochako declared.

"One of us! One of us! One of us!" Kaminari and Sero began to chant until they were cut off by a particularly strict look from Iida.

"Two days. Aizawa Sensei said two days." He warned them. With a collective sigh the entire class flopped back on the sofas leaving Shinsou utterly baffled.

It turned out after the prior nights excitement everyone had fallen asleep in the living room. The Tv, which someone had switched to YouToo last night, was quietly droning on about food that was safe for horses to eat.

Shinsou carefully extracted himself from the couch and tiptoed across the living room floor so as not to step on anyone.

It was only five in the morning but he wouldn't be getting back to sleep, so he crept to the kitchen to make himself some coffee.

The coffeemaker had just finished filling his mug with his life source when the front door opened.

Shinsou turned raising an eyebrow at the open door. It seemed too early for anyone to be awake, but there Midoriya was stumbling through the the door. Glancing to the living room still full of sleeping students he was

Raising his mug to his lips he took a long drink as the greenette slowly slipped off his shoes with such uncoordination that Shinsou wondered if he was still asleep.

Standing awkwardly in the middle of the living room Shinsou waited for the Greenette to notice him, but after he got off his shoes the greenette sat in the middle of the entryway staring off into space.

"Mornng." Shinsou finally greeted. He knew it wouldn't be a good idea to stay quiet and spook his classmate, so he made sure to walk past his line of sight back into the kitchen. "There's some coffee in the pot still. You look like you could use it..." He glamced back over to the greenette who had yet to move or acknowledge him.

"Midoriya?" He called out again in confusion crossing the room to stand a few feet from where he was sitting.

Midoriya looked up at him as if he was finally registering that Shinsou was there. He blinked leaning back against the wall as he stared up at him. "Sh- Shinsou-?" He seemed out of it as he pushed himself to his feet placing an arm against the wall to steady himself. Shinsou inabandoned his cup of coffee on the closest table and reached out to steady him.

"Whats wrong? What happened?" Shinsou demanded. Midoriya seemed to flounder, nearly falling to the floor. "Midoriya?!" He was too caffeine deprived to figure this out. "I'm getting Aizawa-Sensei."

"No don't!" Midoriya innterupted. "I'm fine."

Shinsou leveled him with a look as he sat Midoriya on a chair and glanced over to their sleeping classmates.

"I'm fine." Midoriya tried to reassure him.

It was like an explosion had gone off. Every single one of the students sleeping in the living room shot up and were immediately on their feet.

"What?" Shinsou gaped as they surrounded the greenette.

Todoroki who was closer to the outside of the huddle filled him in. "If Midoriya ever says he's fine twice in a row without an explanation, then somethings medically wrong." He delivered the explanation without even a hint of emotion.

"And if he says he's fine and tries wave you off means he's thinking too much." Kaminari added.

"And if he says he's fine and clearly explains then he's genuinely fine." Asui finished.

"Darkness hides in those who are closest to the light." Tokoyami said cryptically.

Shinsou gapaed at the scene before him. Todoroki was standing in the middle of the kitchen, arm out streached as Kaminari fried eggs on it. The blonde was humming a tune as he used a spatula to flip the eggs. When he spotted Shinsou he cryptically explained.

"Sensei banned us from using the stove."

Walking out into the cold courtyard of the dorms Shinsou was met with the strange sight of Tsuyu, Tokoyami, Shoji, and Sero hanging upside down from the side of the dorm building. Tsuyu looked half asleep and had at least two coats on, a scarf and three beanies, two of which had fallen to the ground.

"We're channeling our deepest thoughts." Tokoyami stated when he noticed Shinsou watching, but at that moment Shinsou was distracted by Kirishima running past, shirtless, and diving into a snow bank that had come from the snow plowers plowing the road.

He let out a war cry as he came out the otherside.

"Would you like some tea Shinsou?" Yaomomo, one of the seemingly normal members of the class offered. She gestured to the table where Midoriya, Uraraka, Aoyama, Jiro, and Ashido were sitting and quietly conversing, apparently about fashion tastes.

"Yeah, I had this phase where I wore nothing but black." Ashido was saying as Shinsou and Yaoyorozu sat down. "I thought i was the coolest twelve year old on the face of the planet."

"I was really into pastels."Jiro piped in. "Purple and pink and blue... How about you Yaomomo?"

Yaoyorozu daintly sipped her tea and put her teacup back on its saucer. She let out a little embarassed cough. "Ah well, I did go through a goth phase when I was thirteen. You know, black lipstick, black nail polish. My parents hated it but they were never around to tell me that."

Meanwhile Midoriya was glancing back and forth between the well styled members of his classmates still wearing his usual T-Shirt T-Shirt, and looking very very lost.

Shinsou found the bathroom easily, walking inside, only to hurry out again.

Kaminari was soaking in the communal tub as lightning sparked through it.

Shinsou blinked in confusion at the lone figure standing in the middle of the court yard with a loaf of bread. He recognized Koda, one of the shy members of the class and the only one that hadn't said a word to him.

He thought that maybe they could find common ground through bsign language but he hadn't gotten a chance to talk to him yet.

He watched as Koda cupped his hands to his mouth and let out a hooting sound almost like an owl. Suddenly, from the forest it looked like the ground was begining to move. Shinsou quickly found that was not the case.

No. Hundreds of rats were running into their courtyard. once they arrived they stopped and sat looking up at Koda. All except one, the only white one climbed at top Koda's shoulder and when it squeaked they all snapped to attention.

Shinsou slowly backed away from the window.

His classmate had a rat army.

It was always the quiet ones.

"WHO DRANK MY ORANGE JUICE?!" Shinsou jolted at the booming voice that seemed to shake the entire dorms.

Iida emerged from the kitchen with an empty carton of juice in his hand.

Slowly Sero began to creep away.

Asui smiled holding out a strange jar. Inside was some red mass of something that looked unsettling.

"Would you like a heart, Shinsou-Kun?"

Bakugo slouched down from upstairs sitting at one of the tables before letting out a yell. "It's homework time!"

Out of nowhere Ashido, Kaminari, Sero, and Kirishima appeared with a cry, "THE COLLECTIVE BRAINCELL HAS ARRIVED!"

"Shinsou, are you Aizawa-Sensei's secret lovechild?"

"Aizawa Sensei what is wrong with your class?" Shinsou groaned from the common room couch late that night. Everyone else had gone to bed, and Aizawa had arrived to enforce law and order on anyone who hadn't.

"Nothing that I know of, why?" He raised an eyebrow.

Shinsou gaped up at him finally pulling his face out of the cushion. "Todoroki cooks breakfast on his arm, Midoriya slipped on ice and gave himself a concussion and then the entire class woke up like a hive mind when he said he was fine but wasn't, Asui eats pickled hearts, Koda has a rat army, Bakugo tutor in his spare time, half the class hang upside down in the courtyard, and Kaminari plays electric eel in the tub."

Aizawa stared at him unblinkingly before letting out a small chuckle. "You've seen nothing yet."

"……What?"

"Welcome to Hell Class."

Notes:

"Todoroki asked if I was your Secret Lovechild."
"……What?"

It was kinda difficult to write this in Shinsou's point of view. I didn't really know where I was going with this. I was originally just going to write a snowball fight but then it turned into that. And i completely forgot to add the fight.

I don't think it flows very well at all. The mood changes too much. and I was in a hurry to finish it so that only made it worse. But I hope it at least got a laugh out of you.

This'll probably be the last you see of me for a while, but I'll be back in April or May.
Thanks for reading!
