The thing about monsters is that they don't know they're monsters. The one between me and the TARDIS thought I was the monster. It's happened before. We all want to scream "Don't hurt me!" I whispered "I won't hurt you." It approached. I stood my ground. It sniffed me, almost inhaled me. To be polite, I sniffed back. (It reeked.) It took two steps to its right. I took two to mine.
"Thank you," it said, drooling, lumbering off to its ship.
"You're welcome." Monstrous in its 11 eyes, I lumbered off to my TARDIS, who knows I am beautiful.
