Visiting Adric

Summary:

Drabble in which The Doctor, Tegan and Nyssa, already vacationing in Merida, decide to go to Chicxulub to "visit" the late Adric. I did not use "death of main character" as an archive warning since Adric is already dead; this is an aftermath story. His death, not even shown directly in the TV episode "Earthshock" (we just see the freighter explode and we know he's been killed) is not portrayed at all here.

"A long bus ride?" Tegan wasn't eager.

"We're visiting Adric? How?"

"It's cruel," said Tegan, and I knew she wasn't referring to the ride.

"Best we can do," I explained. "We'll see the crash site anyway. We're already in Merida. It's only a couple hours away."

"How can we see him, Doctor?" pressed Nyssa.

"We can't, really, but we'll see the results of the freighter crash. That's what allowed Earth to become what it is today. Swimming in a Chicxulub cenote is the closest we can come to him." Why were my eyes damp?

"Let's go visit Adric," whispered Tegan.
