Work Text:
The door closed behind Grell with little more than a soft click. She looked across the room where her William sat illuminated by lamplight, perfectly still. In front of him sat a stack of Reports nearly as tall as his coffee mug. His pen scratched across the paper, correcting mistakes and signing each with his neat, perfect signature.
When she slipped behind him and draped her arms around his shoulders, he stiffened, finally showing some sign of life. She pressed a kiss to his cheek, lips lingering against his skin.
“Grell,” he said, relaxing into her. “You’re early. I haven’t yet finished the Reports.” She kissed his cheek again. It twitched beneath her lips as his head turned slightly toward hers. “I’m nearly done.”
Smiling, Grell tipped her head and kissed him on the mouth. The firm line of his lips softened as he kissed her back. “Almost,” he murmured, gently returning yet another kiss.
And another.
Grell’s hands found their way to his tie. She loosened it and slipped her fingers beneath his shirt.
William exhaled against her mouth, lips parted in anticipation.
“I can finish in the morning.”
