Chapter Text
The foul stench of Iron suffocated my lungs and shed horror and dread upon my face. My hands were crimson red, my five senses only led to a sickening feeling at the pit of my stomach. The atmosphere in a juxtaposition was angelic to a glance, almost as we had won this battle after all. Or did we?
His grinning face was turned to me, ready to throw me into his arms embrace. He stopped dead silent at seeing my form, he bit his lip to prevent any sign of weakness escaping his lips in the form of stutter. His face turned somber, eyes an anguished expression.
He held my hand as gently as possible, the only word he could say was, "I'm sorry." And he said those words with a mournful repetition. I tried to reach out but flinched at the shooting pain growing like an unkillable weed in my stomach, I really was too far gone wasn't I?
"It's...it's okay." My eyes stung as they prickled with tears, "At least you're here for me now, even if my forever is ending today."
He clutched my hand tighter in disbelief, "No, I-"
Wait.
Shit, did I mess up the order of the timeline again?! Argh, ignore everything you have read so far my dear reader, or don't, I guess you already got spoiled on what happens at the end. Who am I you might ask? Consider me an old "friend", I was at the beginning of this and the last story after all, how could you forget me? You can keep reading of course, who's to stop you? But I'll do everything in my power to keep this timeline of events....

Y/N POV:
I rummaged through the mess in my bag the best I could, trying to find the key to my apartment. Lets see...a half eaten stick of cheese, headphones, some hair ties, and....
Half&Half gave me a judgemental stare as I kept looking through even more garbage. In my defense, it was dark. I just came back from the local college where I teach literature as a professor, and grading those essays took me up to 3:00 am to finish.
Half&Half helped out, making a flashlight appear to help me see. Thankfully, I saw something shiny and when I pulled it out, it was the key!
I slowly put the key in the lock and tried to step in as quietly as possible, because I didn't want to wake up Jojo. I put my bag on a hook right outside the door and brushed off my shoes before taking them off. The second I closed the door, I gave a sigh of relief now that I was finally home.
I was about to throw myself on the couch and just sleep right then and there, but my stomach refused, growling like some kind of unruly beast, I was forced to get up and find a snack to satiate my hunger.
As I walked into the kitchen, I walked by a tiny photo which was sitting in a wooden frame on the countertop. I couldn't help but smile as I observed the smiling face of me, and the tiny grin of Jotaro together. It was a really beautiful day, Hana couldn't stop complimenting my white dress and Joseph just wouldn't stop taking pictures. I guess his wedding album did come in handy, although it was a real pain in the ass during the whole Egypt trip...But either way, even though it's been like 3 years already, I can't believe we're a married couple.
I let out a slight chuckle as I headed for the fridge, grabbing some takeout leftovers from yesterday. The dish wasn't salty enough, so when I opened the cupboard to grab the salt, my dumbass tripped and made the whole damn cupboard collapse in on itself! The shelves just gave out, and all the salt and other spices were spilled everywhere on the floor.
Great! So much for not waking up Jojo...

"You alright?" He raised a brow as he picked me up and put me back on my feet. I gave him a nod that I was fine.
"I'm sorry, I should've just went to bed. I didn't want to wake you up." I apologized, slightly dying on the inside from the embarrassment of having a whole ass cupboard collapsing from me just tripping.
JoJo inspected the cupboard and just shook his head, "I think the screws were loose. We were supposed to get them fixed anyway so don't worry."
"I see," I yawned as I was about to exit the kitchen and just go to bed without dealing with all of that embarrassment again, but JoJo posed and offer to tempting to refuse.
"Good grief, want me to make you salmon and rice? Because I hardly doubt you've eaten anything other than that breakfast and lunch I made earlier today." He suggested and I eagerly nodded.
"If it's not too much of a hassle, I know your tired from writing your Marine Biology thesis." I replied
He shook me off, "I care about you way more than some Biology thesis, I hope you know that." He replied which made a tiny blush appear on my face, luckily it was too dark for him to notice.
JoJo quickly whipped up two plates of salmon and rice, turns out he was hungry too. Meanwhile I helped set the table and tried to find some spices that weren't spilled all over the floor. In a couple of minutes I got to enjoy some delicious food along with JoJo, but something seemed up with him, and I don't think it's him being tired at 3:00 am. (Ok well partly)
"Something up?" I looked at his expression as he held a spoon to scoop up rice with one hand, and held some kind of weird paper in the other.
"I didn't want to bring this up now but..."
"But what?" I raised a brow, wondering what in the heck it might be.
"It's that old man." He looked slightly dejected and I could feel my jaw drop to the floor. I slammed my hands against the table and yelled, "WHAT?! DID HE DIE?!"
"No you dumbass, he's a cheater that's what." He replied as he then took another bite of his salmon. "A realty company called me, then mailed me a letter asking me to handle the division of Joseph's property among the designated recipients, turns out there was one kid we didn't know about."
I stayed silent, the shock of what JoJo just said being extremely overwhelming. How could that bastard do such a thing to a woman as sweet as Suzie-Q?! She's an absolute angel!
"But that's not even the worst part." JoJo added and I could feel like there was something even worse to this story then I ever imagined.
"The boys name is Josuke Higashikata, and he lives in a town called Morioh."
My eyes widened at that name. Morioh. Ever since we found out that Mayumi had fled to that town by Kaede, which was then confirmed after she woke up from her coma, I vowed to destroy the remaining legacy of Dio and Amelia by putting Mayumi behind bars. But that vow turned into months, and then into years of waiting. And now I'm a 27-year-old working, married woman who lives her own life now. But ultimately, I never forgot about my promise.
"We need to go to Morioh to settle the division of assets between this Josuke kid and explain the situation to him, because I don't think he knows. But I know that going to Morioh might not be the place where you want to go to right now, so your welcome to stay here while I go." He placed and offer but the vow that I made to myself kept nagging at my brain continuously, to point where I couldn't even refuse.
"I'll go." I looked at him with determined eyes, "I don't want to wait anymore, I want to settle this once and for all."
"Then let's leave after tomorrow, I'll wrap up my work and you wrap up yours. Then we'll head out first thing in the morning." He stood up with a finished plate as he then placed it in the sink. I quickly finished up with mine and did the same.
"Get some rest Jojo, you look like a wolf fish with no sleep." I slightly chuckled as I headed to my room to go to bed.
"Could say the same to you." He grinned before heading off to bed as well.
Let's see, I gotta say goodbye to Noriaki before I leave...wrap up some college work and make sure I find a sub, and I think that's it. My mind quickly drifted off to other places as I felt my eyes slowly droop down and close.
I hope Mayumi is ready, because I'm taking this bitch down.

After waking up and giving Jojo a goodbye kiss before we both left to our respective jobs, I stopped by Noriaki's house because I wanted to say goodbye before I left tomorrow morning.
I rang his doorbell and patiently waited for him to open. Ever since he got a job as a Game Designer, he's almost always in the house doing his work, so I wasn't worried that he was out somewhere today.
After a good few seconds I saw the doorknob begin to turn, and a happy face smiled at me as they opened the door.
Noriaki looked no different than the first time I met him, but he had a few minor differences. For one thing, I think he grew taller a little, and was now sporting some clear glasses instead of those rad shades that he wore. He also had a pretty cute brown and beige sweater vest on, with some diamond patterns along with a white undershirt. He also wore brown khakis and had black shoes on, he also had those same cherry red earrings.
"What's up?" He chuckled as he pulled me into a hug and ruffled my hair, I gave him a warm hug at the sight of seeing one of my best friends.
"Just wanted to stop by," I chuckled, "Me and Jojo have to run an errand in a town called Morioh, and it might take a week or so. So I wanted to say goodbye before we left."
Nori's eyes looked like they lit up like fireworks, "NO WAY, YOU'RE GOING THERE TOO?!" His smile turned even happier as he leaned against the doorframe of his door with content, looking back at me with excitement.
"Too?" I raised a brow, "When are you going?"
"Well...I was supposed to travel there next week to discuss some graphics I need made for my upcoming game, and a pretty famous manga artist living there agreed to meet up and help me out." He began to explain, "At least that was the plan, I wouldn't mind going a week earlier with you guys if that's okay."
"That's perfect!" I exclaimed, "As much as I love Jojo, talking to him is like having a conversation with an emo version of Clint Eastwood. I would love to have you around."
Noriaki clutched his mouth with his hand to try and stop himself from laughing, but the harder he tried, the more a big laugh finally came out, and he couldn't even control himself.
"Emo Clint Eastwood? That's a new one" He laughed, "Don't tell him that though, or he'll call you one of his scientific fish things or whatever."
"I read up enough on fish to know if it's good or bad." I replied proudly, because although Jojo was the marine biologist, I knew several fish species just from reading!
"Alright alright," Noriaki calmed down a little, "When are you leaving? Surely it's not tomorrow?"
I stayed silent because he hit the bullseye right on the money. He finally deducted my silence to be a yes.
"No way! I gotta get packing then, see ya!" His eyes widened and he ran back in his house to grab his suitcase and throw a bunch of clothes and other items he needed for the trip. I only laughed as I began to close the door, since he forgot to do so himself.
"Bye Nori! Meet at our place at 7:30am!" I yelled before finally closing the door, and heading in the direction of the college, the place where I worked at.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
"I don't care if Michelle Obama is pissed, you missing breakfast has nothing to do with you missing the due date for that paper Bethany!" I grumbled not even bothering to look up from the paper I was grading. But when the person who walked into my office didn't even respond, I finally looked up to see who the heck it was.
"Uh...hi?" The person looked confused, but when I took a closer look at who the person was, I realized it wasn't just any person, it was Chiyo! Her red/orange-ish hair was neatly combed into a side ponytail, and she sported a green jacket over a white shirt adorned with a butterfly pin. She also had some pants on that looked white but with a light yellow tint, and a pretty pair of heels.
"Chiyo! How are you doing? Did you get released??" I stood up and quickly pulled her into a hug. I haven't seen her in so long, and I missed her. I really did.
She gave me a hug back and replied, "Mhm, my probation ended like a week ago. But I wanted some time to myself to get a job and settle in, sorry I didn't come visit you earlier. Also, somebody around here mentioned that you work here, so that's how I found you."
"I see," I nodded my head, "It's great to have you back."
"Thank you, I really appreciate it. Do you have any plans tomorrow? I was hoping we could stop by for a coffee and chat a bit." She gave me an offer but sadly, I had to refuse.
With a dejected face I muttered, "I can't, I'm sorry. I'm leaving for Morioh early tomorrow morning for possibly a week, and I don't want to make any false promises."
"Morioh?" A mix of fear, concern, and confusion could be heard in her voice. "You mean the town where...Mayumi fled?"
"So you know where she fled too." I sighed and put a hand on her shoulder to comfort her a little bit. "You don't have to worry anymore, I will end our suffering once and for all and get the justice that everyone deserves."
"Y/N, at this point, is it even worth it?" She looked at me with a dejected face, "It's been years already, and almost everyone has settled down and are living normal lives now. I-I just don't want it to change. I want you and everyone else to be happy."
"I want you to be happy." I looked at her with a determined face, "You've suffered through so much because of her manipulation and actions, you deserve justice and happiness too. So please, let me do this, if not for yourself than think about me and everyone else."
"Stubborn as ever," She gave a low chuckle as she wiped her eyes, "Then if you're going, please let me come with you. I want this nightmare to finally end."
"Of course, you deserve to be a part of this as much as I do." I bent down a little to pick up my bag that was leaning against the side of my desk, "We're leaving at 7:30 am, so make sure to get ready and meet up at my house. I'll text you the address."
"Got it," Chiyo smiled as I waved her a goodbye and walked outside my office door, heading straight home to pack my things.
Chiyo watched as Y/N became only a tiny dot in the distance as she gripped her phone that was in her right hand. She opened the tiny flip-phone device and nervously scrolled to one of the contacts that was in her list. Kaede. Chiyo opened up her messages and once again glanced at what the girl had written her.
"If your apology to me was truly genuine, than please protect her like I asked. I can sense a danger coming, so I want you to be careful as well. Mayumi is playing a dangerous game, and only you guys can defeat her."
-Kaede
Chiyo looked back at Y/N, who finally disappeared after she turned a corner. Chiyo gripped her phone even tighter, to the point where her knuckles had turned white. She promised to herself that even though her stand wasn't as powerful, she would use it to the fullest extent. She wasn't going to hurt another good friend of hers, she vowed to protect Y/N on this journey.
"Even though my stand, Blondie, Is only good for communicating with others, I will do everything In my power to become even stronger." Chiyo muttered as she also left the office and headed home.
An oh boy was Kaede right.
It was the beginning of the end.
