Sonic thought he would die if this kept up.
He felt miserable. Despite how much he felt his lips unwillingly tugging up into a smile at the thought of his current situation.
He hated the way his heart began to pound - and he meant, like, actually pound. When he looked down, he could see the veins in his wrists bubbling with every new pump of blood his heart gave him. He could feel it in the nerves of his neck and the reverberations of his skull and ears.
He hated the way his cheeks began to flush - he was sure his muzzle was bright red. He wasn't sure it even showed all that much through his fur, but he couldn't help trying to will the blush away for fear of someone noticing. He hated the way that he flushed all the way up to his ears and all the way down to his neck.
He hated the way he began to feel lightheaded at the singular mention of his beloved - he could definitely do without the adrenaline rush every time. His body seemed to float in the presence of him, and he always found himself leaning closer. He wondered how kissing someone - no, not just someone, him - would feel?
He hated the impulsiveness of all his newfound thoughts, after the sudden realization that he liked someone. That he was in love. Suddenly all he could think about was wanting to kiss his new object of affections. All he could recall when he looked at him was how pretty he was, how wonderful the color of his eyes were.
Gaia. He hated being in love.
But if he was being honest with himself... He loved it. He really loved being in love with someone like Shadow the Hedgehog.
