Work Text:
How can I describe your lips on mine
A kiss, long wanted, never to be
Yet here we stand, in this sanctuary
Pressed together as I never dared hope.
How my heart did flutter
To see you in that church
And then again when you
Trusted me in the West End.
I saw what it would be to lose you
Forever, never again to watch you
Even from the distance I’ve tried to keep.
To lose you would be to lose myself
And so I vowed to keep you safe
Even if it meant to deny myself your embrace.
A triumphant return home to celebrate
The shades of grey that connect us… but oh!
Then your hands reach out, on my shoulders
Warm and desperate and pining, like mine
And mine in your hair, curling around
Those hips that defy the promise I made
And I’m lost in the taste of you.
