“Where were you imprisoned, Doctor?”
“Thlynkt.”
“Thuh-linkt? Are you sure that’s not in Wales?” Tegan teased.
“Two small countries at war, Thlynkt and Crovan, on the square planet of Gralt.”
“They thought you were on Crovan’s side?”
“I was!”
“Doctor, you were a soldier? A spy?”
“Nor tinker, nor tailor. I was visiting friends when Thlynktan raiders swept the village. We were all civilians.”
“How awful! What happened to your friends?”
“We’re still in touch.”
“They survived!”
“The TARDIS found me. Seven of us escaped.”
“Happy ending!”
“They have families. That helps.”
“And you, Doctor?”
“You’re my family. That helps!”
