Penelope makes a choked sound. Colin blissfully ignores this.
"Think about it, Pen!" Colin insists, the gears in his head turning, "We've got a bunch of these holiday parties, who knows who you might end up with next. All we have to do is spend time with each other, which we were going to do anyway—"
"That's not all we'd have to do!" Penelope interrupts, but Colin's too far in his head to notice that the alarm in her voice matches the panic in her expression.
"That way if you end up under any more mistletoe, you won't have to kiss anyone you don't want to." He concludes, boyish excitement written all over his features, "It's the perfect solution, Pen."
Or, after witnessing Penelope kissing Alfie after getting caught under some mistletoe, to have her avoid another mistletoe mishap, Colin comes up with the perfect plan: She kisses him instead.
