A new one! “One Hundred Million Miracles” is a multi-chapter, self-contained fanfic harkening back to the Carol and Therese characters in my first story, “In the Year of the Cat.” That story followed the aftermath of the Highsmith’s novel, leading to “Miracle on Madison Avenue,” “Never Never Land,” “Pure Imagination,” and “Only You, And You Alone.” However, readers will find this story almost like a sequel to “Only You, and You Alone.”

The setting is Franklin Street in Manhattan in the late 1950s. The women enjoy their brownstone in the Triangle Below Canal Street, nicknamed the Manhattan Butter and Egg District. Carol thrives at Petersen’s Furniture Shop, which includes more responsibilities, casting her in a new light– Buyer and Historical Consultant. Therese has a promising career as a Broadway set designer under the talented wing of the revered scenic and interior designer Oliver Smith.

Life is almost perfect. But as always, something is in the wind, stirring currents of worry below the surface. Although Therese manages her anxiety well, she experiences flashbacks to the events of the past April, resulting in an intense avoidance of specific places.
