Chapter 1: Prolouge
Chapter Text
Vigilate gripped his sword in hand. Two months ago he had called out the other watchers for torturing innocent people they had banished him to a hardcore world where he had survived and now decided to slay the warden. He could only hope they were watching and this could show them that he was strong enough to fight back.
He spread his purple wings and flew into the cave soaring.
***
He could see nothing anymore he could feel the skulk climbing up his skin. He could only listen. He could listen to everything.

Chapter Text
Jimmy spread his bright yellow wings from the top of the mountain and swooped down into the forest flying until he saw Tango tending to their crops next to their cottage. They lived far away from other people. They were safer here. Happier here. Tango looked to the sky to see his boyfriend coming, he adjusted his hat made of wheat to block the sunlight, smiling.
"Hello!" Jimmy said digging his canary claws into the ground to slaw himself causing a spray of dirt in the air. It got all over both of their faces. Jimmy rubbed his eyes to see Tango's entire face covered in mud and his wheat hat burnt to ashes due to his head now being ablaze. One of the side effects of Tango being a blazeborn was when he was angry his blond hair turned to a fiery blaze. It was a poetic reflection of his emotions.
Tango sighed, pulled a red handkerchief from his back pocket, and wiped his face off. Jimmy stood back waiting for a lecture. Tango's hair slowly turned back to normal as he began to speak.
"When you are landing, you need to make sure to do it away from other people," Tango said calmly, breathing in and out.
Jimmy chuckled and Tango rolled his eyes.
Jimmy walked into the cottage to prepare food for a hearty dinner while Tango continued tending to the crops. On Jimmy's fly out he had picked some apples off the large, thick oak trees. Every once in a while Jimmy had to go for a fly other wise he would feel chronic pain. He was destined to fly. It was who he was and who ever operated the world from the heavens made sure to remind Jimmy of that constantly.
Tango's life was just as hard, being a blazeborn took a lot of work and energy. He was a man with big emotions which did not lead to good things. He had to be careful to always keep himself under check near wooden structures and trees. Luckily the entire farm didn't turn to ashes and dust just now when Jimmy had annoyed him.
Jimmy took out his flint and steel and struck up a burning fire to cook steak over. Gosh fire was really consuming his thoughts today.
The smell of the cooking meat and smoke filled up the cottage, the crackling of the fire a relaxing sound to listen to while leaning back in a large red armchair.
Jimmy peered out the window to watch his rancher still working on the crops. He was always working, he was always a sweaty mess but neither Tango nor Jimmy minded that. Soon the two sat down for dinner and ate, they didn't talk much. They were the kind of people who knew everything about each other. There wasn't much to talk about. Suddenly they heard a knock on the door and ran to get it, opening it up to a man with a torn white tunic and who appeared to be a healer, carrying a staff. He had what appeared to be small see through bat like wings one on each side of his head. They looked ghostly like they weren't really there.
"Hello my name is Cub..."

Chapter Text
The Listeners dug and swam through billions of different universes. One of the watchers disappeared. The only one that was actively working against the others of his species had gone missing. The listeners knew what had happened before they needed to rescue him. They could hear his cries, his screams calling them out, leading them to find him. They reached out a hand and Vigilate took it. He was a listener.
Notes:
So if you haven't caught on the watcher/listener chapters are gonna be more like really short "poems"
Chapter 4: Magic System and Worldbuilding explained
Summary:
The magic system and worldbuilding of the world explained.
Chapter Text
Every command in Minecraft is a spell in this world that the players have to learn the commands which they can mess up sometimes. Casting a spell is kind of complicated in order to physically cast it you have to throw up a magic "anchor" such as a staff or amulet something that means something to the person casting the spell. After throwing up your anchor you put the watcher symbol around it using your fingers and the spell will be cast. You also have to physically say the command such as Teleport ImpulseSV to Skizzleman.
Now that's the base of the magic system and we will discover more through out the story.
Now onto the character's physical species.

Chapter 5: An Elven Boy
Summary:
Introduction to Martyn a normal commoner in Gems kingdom. Geust Appearance by Doc and the V-Tuber lore which will not play a part in the plot after this chapter but it's really fun and I wanted to add it in! For those unfamiliar to Martyn's v-tuber lore this is not the same doc as docm77. Sorry if that's confusing. The Doc we meet in this chapter will not play an important role going on so don't worry. For those who know it is a fun easter egg.
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
Martyn ran through the beautiful, majestic city with a loaf of bread. Doc his good friend and caretaker had tossed him a coin to go into the market and buy himself a treat. He swung open the door to Doc's quant cottage, but to others who weren't of the high elven kind, it might look like a mansion.
"Doc?" Martyn shouted. The place was oddly eerie.
"Boy! I have something I need to tell you!" Doc shouted. Martyn rushed to Doc's office. Doc was an artificer and helped fashion inventions that helped the elven kind. Doc's face was flushed and he was pulling on his leather coat and appeared to be rushed.
"What's wrong, Doc?" Martyn said nervously.
"I just got a message from forces you do not wish to know about. I didn't originate in this world, and it's time I left it," Doc exclaimed.
"Left it? Doc, I can't keep going without you. You are my mentor, and you have so much more to teach me."
Doc gripped his shoulder.
"I'm sorry."
Doc then through up his magical anchor, which was a rusty old gear, and put the watcher symbol around it and proceeded to shout,
"Doc has left the world!" A flash of green light engulfed the room, and Doc was gone.
Martyn picked up the journal that Doc had used, that Martyn had been strictly forbidden to read. It felt wrong opening it but Martyn needed something to explain Doc's disappearance.
The first line of the first entry read, The datastream calls me. Martyn closed the book after that. He didn't want to know more, he decided to accept that Doc had gone to a place called the datastream and that he would be fine. He could have been there before if he claimed before he left that he wasn't originally from this world.
After all, Martyn had always found it odd how Doc wasn't an elf like Martyn and the rest of the people in Queen Gemini's Empire.
Martyn had been an apprentice to Doc in the art of science and so he began his own mechanical project in the house.

Chapter 7: Downtown Dwarf
Summary:
Introduction to Impulse and Skizz and the dwarven kingdom. Background information to the chapter, cause I don't explain it in the chapter. Impulse was adopted by two dwarves (cause of the whole dwarf thing in Hermitcraft season 9). Also, try to figure out what the evo reference is.
Chapter Text
Impulse's tattered wings kept him slightly off the ground of downtown dwarf. Skizz walked beside him, holding his monk staff like a walking stick, as the sound of dwarven cries and hammers smashing against anvils of the dwarven forge. Two weeks ago, a mysterious tattered piece of parchment had flown out of his fireplace. It had read, 'your parents are in danger'. The two had then gone on a long journey towards Downtown Dwarf and had finally made it last night. Impulse led the way towards his old house.
Impulse was biting down on his lip.
Skizz looked towards him and smiled. It did not reassure him.
"Here," Impulse said and dropped his hovering and ran to his old house. It was a small wooden hut, the door was covered in blood, and a large watcher symbol.
"No!" Impulse exclaimed at the sight of it. Skizz kicked down the door quickly and walked into the dark room. Two dwarven bodies were on the ground. Impulse pulled himself off the ground and drew his sword. Slashing through the watcher symbol on the door. A purple light engulfed the room and the outside. A watcher began to walk through the void. Its face was very visible, and it was wearing a dark purple robe with gold accents. It held an axe covered in an array of blood.
Impulse gripped his sword, and Skizz readied his staff. The watcher licked its fingers and began to speak,
"That was a tasty meal! Your sadness its hilarious!" It giggled and floated around Impulse. Impulse pointed its sword at the being.
"You. Killed. My. Parents!"
"Why yes I did and your sad about that." The watcher smiled.
Impulse jumped towards the being but the watcher flicked his wrist in the air and began to slam Impulse into the ground over and over and over. Skizz's face grew horrified. Then he jumped in throwing up his staff which as well as a weapon was his magical signant and put the watcher symbol around it. He then proceeded to shout.
"Skizzle has gifted health to Impulse!" Skizz fell to the ground bloodied and Impulse rose up and began to duel with the Watcher. Skizz had essentially given his strength to Impulse. Skizz managed to crawl to a safe hidden place before anyone could see him and right before he went unconscious through his staff up put up the watcher symbol and yelled in a scratchy unnatural voice, "Strength effect applied to Impulse."
Impulse and The watcher dueled on the top of a house they somehow had ended up on. Dwarves were throughing spears and shooting their cross bows at the Watcher but nothing was working. Suddenly something began to materialize in the purple mist. Vigilante or to Impulse a weird looking creature rolled into the battle and tackled the watcher holding a hardened skulck dagger to its throat.

The two had been raiding a dungeon in a deep cave they had found. The two liked to go on frequent spelunking quests together and the large blackstone maze had been very dangerous. They had found a bit of safe haven after their recent skeleton battle.
"Joe can I ask you what you are?" Cleo asked tentatively.
"Well, I'm a Joe Hills, some classify me as an Eldritch being. I've been here since the beginning of time." Joe replied continuing to tend to Cleo's arm.
Cleo responded with another question still quite confused, "So where exactly are you from?"
"Nashville, Tennessee!" Joe explained.
"And were exactly is that?"
"Its a place far off in the void, its been there since the begging of everything just like me!"
Cleo nodded and decided not to ask him to explain any farther for it really was hard for their brain to grasp.

Doc's survival instincts kicked in and he punched a whole through the glass and the entire glass chamber shattered, water spilling out. The goat soared through the air and punched the being in the face. One of its teeth flew out and it readied its sword swinging at Doc. Doc flipped backwards sliding on the quartz floor grabbing a large trident with the watcher engraved in its hilt off the wall. He lunged at the watcher with the trident but the trident took the opportunity jumping out of the way and slicing off Doc's right hand. Doc let out a scream of pain and the watcher lauged a vicious laugh shoving Doc to the ground and raising his sword to behead the creeper-goat hybrid but Doc took advantage of his enemy underestimatement of Doc's strength and stabbed the watcher straight through the chest with the trident. It then fell to the ground. Doc laid down on the grown and closed his eyes very weak and tired.

An introduction to the mounders (minus bdubs) and a small gem cameo. Empires Season 2 Joel Reference. Today's song is Curses by The Crane Wives. Also yes Mumbo's dogs name is really Kubo IRL.
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
Mumbo, Joel, and Pearl stood on the ground in the elven city.
"Let's go!" Pearl whispered beginning to raise her moth wings Mumbo doing the same.
"I know, I know, I don't have f'n wings." Joel said struggling to find his magical signent. He found a small metal headband that were meant to look like leaves with a purple gem in the center.
"Oh the crown of my child, Hermes..." Joel sighed looking down at it.
Pearl glared at him. Mumbo and her had been slowly forming a theory that Joel had completely made up Hermes to make the other mounders feel bad for him. After seven years of adventuring with him they new he liked being dramatic. Joel through it up and put up the watcher symbol around it saying under his breath, "Joel Smallishbeans is granted wind bursts." Joel now held pure wind.
Mumbo kicked off the ground flapping his moth wings and Pearl followed Joel throwing one of these wind balls at the ground blasting him into the air. Mumbo and Pearl began to soar through the sky while Joel launched himself from rooftop to rooftop.
Mumbo and Pearl soon landed on the top of the giant cherry tree that twisted around the elven palace. Joel still standing on the ground quickly through down a large amount of wind blasting him into the air and he landed next to Mumbo and Pearl.
"Alright listen, our goal is to get the Geminislay sword of the queen. The most prized artifact of the elves. It could be auctioned off for a pretty price."
Mumbo nodded quietly Joel on the other hand got very defensive,
"I'm aware! Im not going to steal diamonds like last time I understand why we got caught."
Pearl rolled her eyes before Mumbo pulled out a small contraption from his pocket. It was a small metal dog that Mumbo had engineered. Mumbo whispered in its ear before throwing it down onto the balcony. "Come on Kubo we need you"
Kubo then curled up by the metal door that entered into the palace from the balcony. The three waited in anticipation Kubo imitating a ticking sound. It then exploded the door flying off.
"Yes!" Mumbo exclaimed throwing his fist in the air quickly scooping up the remnants of Kubo stuffing the gears back into the metal dogs body. Mumbo planned to repair him later.
The three jumped down onto the balcony Pearl going first Joel following and Mumbo coming up behind them.
Joel suddenly felt metal to his throat and heard Pearls screech of the word "RUN!"
Joel flipped around getting out of the neck hold he was in and kicked an elf with blue hair and typical knight armor using one of his wind breezes to blast the man back.
"Stop in the name of the queen..." The three looked up to see the queen in all her glory. An elf with deer horns (the mark of the royal family) holding Pearl directly to the ground with a sword pressed to her throat.
"One wrong move and she dies." Gem said gesturing at Pearl.
"Lady Gemini we meant no harm in coming into your palace- actually we meant much harm but not upon you," Mumbo began to reason with the queen dropping his weapon. Joel cursed Mumbo under his breath for being such an idiot. He then saw that Mumbo's hands were rapidly moving behind his back attempting to repair Kubo. Joel smirked at this realization and kept quiet.
"We merely wished to retrieve your precious Geminislay sword as it would go for a pretty price and we are lowly poor thieves of this realm. Please forgive us, thow us in a dungeon but do not kill our friend."
Mumbo said. He then stopped fiddling with his hands Joel knew that Kubo was ready. A light purple began to emminate from Mumbo's body.
"Very well, I rest your case, you will be trialed in three days, Scott escort them-" Suddenly a third eye appeared over Mumbo's head and it was almost as if he was being possessed. He shouted viciously, "Die!" And through Kubo straight into Gem's chest exploding Kubo and blasting Gem back clearly hurting her.
The knight quickly ran to his queen and Joel and Pearl quickly ran too Mumbo.
"What happened dude?" Joel asked.
"I don't know I felt possessed like something different then me was using me for its own malicious ways. I was still present but I couldn't do anything." Mumbo said, "I would never hurt a soul even though I'm a thief."
"The watchers," Pearl muttered under her breath, "The beings that control this world and all the universes. I've heard of people who rebel against them. Maybe they are right I mean we have no hard evidence they have done anything good for us."
"It does make sense given the third eye and the purple light." Joel said, Mumbo was still dumbfounded holding a little broken Kubo in his hands.
"I've heard of one with parrot wings in the south who has been trying to find a way to fight them for a while, apparently his life's work is researching them." Pearl said. The three then turned to see Scott still standing over Gem, quite dumbfounded. Gem's chest still rose an fell though. She was certainly still alive.
"Understood we will find him this mission has gone horribly wrong and we will at least need some place to hide out." Joel said, "You two go I'll be in a minute." Mumbo and Pearl proceeded to walk out and jump back out of the balcony.
Joel through up Hermes crown put the watcher symbol up and uttered, "Joel Smallishbeans has obtained a healing potion."
He then walked over to the queen who was now sitting up and the knight. The knight at this sight began to charge at Joel but Joel quickly drew his sword and parryed the attack reaching out his hand to give the knight the healing potion,
"We're thieves not killers," Joel said.
"Thank you. I never want to see your face in this kingdom again." The knight said.
"Understood. But thieves take orders from no one." Joel said before sliding to the ground and grabbing the Geminislay sword, and using the back wall to push off of firing a wind charge which launched him into the air away from the palace.

Chapter Text
"Grian what happens when the monsters come again?" Scar asked with Grian's head leaned against his chest while Grian was happily reading.
"Scar, you know we can't be together, we can't do this, I'm doomed by the universe."
"Grian, I have it in me to try."
"So do I scar, but fate doesn't have it in itself to let us try," Grian sat up and turned to Scar.
"Grian, everything is going to be all right everything is always alright."
"Scar your just any other elf, ive died, ive almost deystroyed the universe, I've seen everything, not everything is always alright for me!"
"Hey the universe shit your always going on about is just as relevant to me as it is to you, god this is such a dumb thing to argue about we were fine two seconds ago."
The two were now standing now in there little tower they had built in the sand dunes, mainly for Grian to prepare for the attempts on his life the watchers sent out.
Scar then grabbed the back of Grian's head and pulled him in for a kiss. It lasted for an eternity and a mere second. Grian backed up and pulled up his mask so that sand would not get into his mouth and left the tower.
He took a single step onto the sand and looked out to see below him hundred's of watcher children chanting sounding like the screams of an enderman. Then Grian noticed what really the watchers expected him to fall too. A chained warden watcher children were rangiling.
||𝙹⚍ ∴ᒷ∷ᒷ ᒲᒷᔑリℸ ̣ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 ∴ᔑℸ ̣ ᓵ⍑
Grian began to understand their shouts, "you were meant to watch"
Grian grabbed his escrima sticks from his side and began to fly down to the army, before he touched the ground he threw his escrima sticks down to the ground releasing a burst of lightnight. He touched down on the ground and sand flew up as he slid and grabbed his weapons and began to just hit one watcher child after another there souls flying up wards back to the void to rest until they are sent out again. Grian began to hear the flying of arrows and looked up to see Scar firing from his bow from the top of the tower.
Scar deserved better than Grian. Scar deserved love and his own fairy tale life but Grian couldn't give that too him.
Grian suddenly fell too the floor and covered his ears as he heard a ringing in his ear,
Suddenly a memory flashed in his mind, he was running up a staircase as a warden chased him he yelled out "Scar I'm sorry!" as heard that very same ringing in his ear of the warden as he collapsed and died.
Grian rolled under a watcher child as he struggled against the shrieks and managed to get up and go back to sending hundreds of these things back to the void swinging left and right and soon he through up his escrima sticks and made the watcher symbol with his hands and shouted at the top of the lungs,
"Grian /kills all non player entities" He fell straight to the ground unconscious as the souls of all the monsters he had just killed flew up to the void. He had used his watcher magic, he had overused it.
Scar ran down the stairs of the tower dropping his bow and then down the sand hill running towards Grian as fast as he coud.
"Fuckin watchers"

Vigilante pushed off of the watchers chest hitting the wall and began to feel around trying to figure out were he was due to his lack of sight. He listened and heard the swinging of the watcher's axe about to come down on his head but he lifted his dagger and deflected it swinging for the chest of the watcher.
"You can't keep them here, in this multiversal hub of sorts in beetween the games. They need to rest," Vigilante said as the two fell and fell and still dueled and dueled.
