Chapter Text
A large popcorn sat between Pomni and Jax, who twirled the remote with one hand, catching it as it tossed it up. His gloved hand cradled his cheek, a bored expression on his face, grabbing popcorn in the other. Pomni twiddled her fingers, nervously eyeing the blue screened TV, glancing back at the anthropomorphic purple rabbit wanting to ask.
“Uggghh…, Where's Dolly and ribbons? Complained Jax, slumping in his seat.
“Ragatha and Gangle were invited to watch movies with Zooble.”
False mock hurt laced his voice, clenching his chest. “I'm hurt. Where's my invitation?”
“Zooble would rather go on an adventure than watch a movie with you.” Clips Pomni, tossing a kernel in her mouth.
“Hmph, well at least I got company. Why's Zoobs leave ya fer misery. Didja hurt ribbons? How awful~”
Pomni glared at Jax, vaulting toward the jerk rabbit, straddled his legs, gripping the remote, tugging it towards her. “Just-! Just shut up and put the movie on!”
“Oho? Tiny gots some guts~ Didn't know you were so forward,pom pom.” Teasing Jax, his left arm looping her waist, tugging her away, he pulled the remote high, causing Pomni to sit up further to reach.
“Asshole.” Seethes Pomni, baring her fangs, ignoring the jingle of the bells at the end of her hat, shot up, headbutting Jax in the chin, a loud yelp left him, scrambling for the remote, which was claimed by Pomni, out of breath, and smiling. Pomni, fidgeting looking at Jax's bloody lip, leaned closer, wiping away the thin line of ruby nestled on bruised lips.
A polite cough was heard behind them, Pomni faced a pink cheeked Ragatha, a question raised on her face, squinting at them curiously. Pomni bolted off Jax immediately, landing backwards on the floor, her head hitting the carpet, groaned.
“Pomni, are you okay?” Asks Ragatha, helping Pomni up, rubbing the back of her head soothingly, earning an eye roll of Jax.
“She’s fine! Besides, you were interrupting, Rags. It was getting to the good part.”
“Oh! Umm, you two are??
No!!/Yeah, now leave.”
Pomni tufs on her jester hat frustrated, swiping the remote clicked play on the movie, as two kids and the grim reaper entered the mall.
“Is this a Christmas movie?”
“Well, technically it's a special. But, I remember watching this as a kid.”
“Nostalgia talk later,pipsqueak.” Mutters Jax, jamming a handful of popcorn in Pomni's mouth, before returning his attention to the movie.
Ragatha watched, wrinkling her nose at Mandy, while she stifled her giggles over comedy moments sprinkled through.
Time past, as the movie was about to hit it's climax, Jax peered over to Pomni, who was nodding off, nearly knocking herself off the couch, Jax picked her up like a Christmas sack full of presents, before tossing the remote near Ragatha, leaving a couple of toy centipedes in the popcorn, exiting the room.
Carrying Pomni, he placed her in his nest, putting his plush in her arms before leaving, the door left locked, as he strolled toward the stage, twirling a key on his finger.
