He picked up a different trinket; a fake pumpkin. Her eyes widened before narrowing, her head shaking again.
Finally, he picked up a statue of a chicken. He’d seen these in rustic restaurants before.
“You sure have a lot of interesting stuff in here.”
“Jax!” Ragatha shouted, the bowl in her hands slamming on the counter; he used to love getting those reactions. “Stop that!"

Summary
Back in the real world, Pomni is trying to readjust to average, boring, completely non-amazing-non-digital reality.
When she runs into an all too familiar asshole, she’s forced to fully confront what exactly the Circus is, the way it’s impacted her and her friends, and more pressingly: how it’s entered the real world.
Jax and Pomni must hunt down the other four members of their digital squad, and quickly, as the new tech company ‘C/A’ is quickly making its way into the spotlight and spells out nothing but trouble.
