"Katai! Love, are you ok?" He yelled, walking into the bedroom. "Hm? Yeah, I'm fine," he said, sitting up from the bed. "You sure? You slept until 9," he said, gesturing to the clock. "Oh, I'm sorry, did we have plans?" He asked, standing up and walking toward the vampire. "No, I just wanted to make sure you were ok. You've been sleeping in later than usual," he whispered, kissing the brunette's nose.
"I know," he sighed, leaning his gave against the vampire's chest. "Why don't you go get dressed and we'll go out," he said, kissing the human's forehead. "Deal," he whispered, walking toward the closet. The blonde sighed as he watched Katai leave. This happened every month.
Once a month, Katai would sleep in later than usual. It wasn't even just that. He often found the brunette in odd positions clutching his stomach. It lasted about 5 days before everything would go back to normal. He just wanted to understand.
He had always had a difficult time understanding humans, even more so when he fell in love with one. He wasn't good with feelings, horrible with them, actually. But he wanted to atleast understand his husband. He was snapped from his thoughts as he saw Katai walk out of the closet.
"Does this look ok?" He asked, looking at the blonde and smiling. "You look exquisite," he whispered, pulling the human closer. "Flatterer," he whispered, blushing slightly. "I was thinking about meeting Dazai and Chuuya for lunch, is that ok?" He asked, and Katai nodded. "If that's alright with you," he said, kissing the vampire gently.
"Well, we still have a while..." He trailed off, breath fanning against the brunette's ear. "You're incorrigible," he whispered, blushing fiercely. "Is that a no?" He asked, smiling teasingly. "Shut up and kiss me," he whispered, pulling Kunikida closer.

"You're trans, aren't you?" He asked bluntly. "Jesus! Blunt much,?" Chuuya asked, setting down his wine glass. "Am I incorrect?" He asked, causing the redhead to sigh. "No, you're not. But be more polite next time," he said, watching as Dazai flirted with a waitress. "My apologies," he said, causing the other vampire to sigh again.
"It's fine, what do you need to know for?" He asked, flipping the brunette off as he turned to look at the pair. Katai had excused himself and Dazai was busy trying to flirt his way into a free dessert. "Katai has been acting, strange," he said, causing Chuuya to perk up. "How so?" He asked, full attention now on the blonde. "Once a month, he sleeps in late, is always resting in odd positions, clutches his abdomen more, and craves chocolate," he said, causing Chuuya to bark out a laugh.
"That's the odd behavior?" He asked, stifling his giggles. "Yes? Is that not odd?" He asked, genuinely confused. "It sounds like your husband is on his period," he explained unhelpfully. "Period?" He questioned, causing the other vampire's eyes to widen. "Do you not know what a period is?" He asked, gaining a nod.
"Oh shit," he whispered, placing a hand over his mouth. "Is it dangerous?" He asked, eyes wide. "No! No, nothing like that," he said reassuringly. "Then what is it?" He asked, looking at the redhead. "To dumb it down, it's when a person with female genitals bleeds from well... their genitals," he said, awkwardly.
"Why would that cause pain?" He asked, causing the other vampire to groan. "Sometimes, when people experience periods, they begin the cramp. And most of the time, cramps are really painful," he explained. "I see," he said with a nod. "You really haven't talked with him about this?" He asked, and Kunikida shook his head. "I just assumed it was a weird human trait," he explained as Dazai walked over.
"I have secured cake!" He said with a giddy smile. "Shut the fuck up," they both said as Katai sat down. "You ok?" He asked, wrapping his arm around the brunette. "Yeah," he said, although his voice was tense.

He watched as Katai slept peacefully. It was already about 1 in the afternoon, so roughly the middle of the night for them. He just couldn't wrap his head around why the human would not tell him about his... periods. Perhaps he though it was embarrassing, or maybe was ashamed of them? To lost in thought, he didn't notice Katai waking.
"Hey, why are you still awake?" He asked, voice slightly groggy. "Just thinking," he whispered, pulling the human closer by his waist. "About?" He pried in a soft voice. "Chuuya told me something today," he whispered, brushing hair out of the younger face. "Oh yeah? What about?" He asked, eyes fluttering slightly.
"About humans... and their periods," he said, causing Katai's eyes to snap open. "What?!" He yelled, sitting up quickly. "Relax, my love," he said, pulling the human back down. "Why did he tell you about periods?" He asked, refusing to lay back down. "Because I had told him about the strange behavior you've been having, and he gave me an answer," he said, using his vampire strength to forcefully pull the brunette down.
"Strange behaivor?" He asked, letting out a small 'oof' as Kunikida pulled him. "Like how every month you sleep later, crave chocolate, and always clutch your stomach," he explained, watching as the human blushed. "You could've just asked me," he whispered, avoiding eye contact. "I had tried once, but it made you uncomfortable so I didn't ask again," he said, tilting the brunette's chin gently. "My cramps are just bad sometimes, but it isn't anything you can help with," he whispered, closing his eyes slightly.
"I find that hard to believe," he whispered, causing the human to sigh. "I guess, if you cuddled with me a little more, it might help a little," he whispered, blushing again. "I will do anything you ask of me," he responded. "Except turn me," he replied, glaring at the vampire. "Sleep, my love. We will talk more in the morning," he said, gently pressing Katai's face into his chest before falling asleep.
