Work Text:

As blue team sits around the fire eating their burgers, Anastasia stands up from her spot and approaches Marissa. She silently asks her to follow her, walking into the forest. Marissa doesn’t hesitate to follow closely behind, wondering what Anastasia could need. She also wondered how she could walk just fine after eating two or three burgers. This was going to be painful for Marissa.

Anastasia stops and looks at Marissa, sighing in what sounded like regret.

“Look, I’m sorry for… for the kiss,” she said.

Marissa nodded, “I guess it was okay… but you said that we didn’t need a kiss to win. So why did you kiss me?”

Anastasia’s face turned bright red as she thought about that. Why did she kiss Marissa? That was a question not even she could answer. She could tell Marissa was waiting for an answer, so she answered the first thing that came to her mind.

“Well, I didn’t do it for the points. The position we were in, the atmosphere,” she began, “it gave me the perfect opportunity to do what I’ve been wanting to do for a while.”

As soon as those words left her mouth, she realized that those words weren’t a lie. It made her face flush more. But they also made Marissa blush.

Marissa soon blinked away her shock, which gave way to confusion, “Wait, what do you mean by ‘wanting to do for a while’?”

Anastasia bit her lip, and then tried to come up with another response. Was it an appropriate time to admit her feelings? She knew it was probably sooner than later, as news spread of what happened with Spencer and Diego.

“So, Marissa. I kind of like you,” Anastasia said, putting her hands on Marissa’s waist before correcting herself, “Not kind of, a lot.”

“What’s going to happen then?” Marissa asked.

Anastasia thought. Perfect environment, alone, quiet, romantic.

“Well, why don’t we…” Anastasia didn’t finish her sentence, taking Marissa’s face into her hands and giving her a kiss. They kissed for a few seconds before pulling away, her eyes widening in shock.

“Oh, Marissa I’m sorry I should’ve warned you,” she apologized, “I’ll try warning you next time.”

Marissa smirked, “There’s going to be a next time?”

Anastasia giggled, “Yes, there will be.”

They held hands with each other and went back to camp.
