Checo’s never really like partying, preferring to stay in. This year for new years he was staying in, with his Maxie. Max loved going out and having fun but Maxie would prefer to stay in and watch movie and cuddle with is papa. Checo just knew this was going to be one of the best new years he’s had yet.
“Papa, movie?” Max was sitting on the floor playing with some toys while Checo did some tidying up around the house.
“Sure baby. Snacks?”
“Yes please.” Max quickly stood up, excited for their new plans for the night.
“Alright. You clean your toys and I’ll get everything ready. When you’re done you can pick out a movie.” Checo made his way towards the kitchen, getting snacks ready for their night together.
Max made quick work of his toys, only having a few blocks out that he quickly put into their bucket and the bucket back onto the shelf. He turned on the TV, and opened up Netflix to find a movie. Once he had one picked he realized he didn’t have his blankie or Lion with him.
“Papa. Where blankie and lion?” Max called out. Now that he realized he didn’t have his treasured comfort items right with him he was starting to panic.
“They’re in your room, remember. You left them there after your nap.” Checo stepped into the living room, ready to calm Max’s anxiety.
“Get them?”
“Of course. Come one little one.” Checo held his hand out, which Max quickly took. Checo led them down the hallway to Max’s room where his blankie and lion were sitting on the pillows right where they got left after Max’s afternoon nap. He didn’t always take them everywhere but sometimes he remembers they exist and when he does he needs them right that second. Max quickly grabbed the two items, burying his face in the two items.
“How about we get you changed while we’re in here.” Checo suggested, knowing it probably wouldn’t go over well.
“No papa.” Max said, pouting to show his displeasure.
“I know papa’s vey mean but it needs to happen. Why don’t you put on your pyjamas too.”
“No want to.”
“We need to Max. I be quick. Promise.” Max didn’t respond just flopped down onto the bed, flinging his blankie over his head so Checo couldn’t see his face. Checo was quick with the diaper change before grabbing some pyjamas from Max’s drawers. Getting Max changed into pyjamas was a little more difficult as he didn’t want to remove his blankie but eventually Checo got Max fully changed and ready for movie night. Checo picked Max up, grabbing his lion when it dropped to the bed by accident.
“Movie now?” Max asked.
“Yeah baby. Movie now.” Checo carried Max into the living room, dropping his gently onto the couch was caused Max to giggle. He quickly ducked into the kitchen to grab the tray of snacks and headed back to the living room.
The two settled down onto the couch, Max cuddling up against Checo. The two ate their snack as they watched their movie. Checo couldn’t think of a batter way to spend New Year’s Eve. Sure they both fell asleep long before midnight but neither cared, they were together and that’s all that mattered. It was going to be a good year no matter what as long as they weretogether.
