On the border of Xektoid space, one of largest and most powerful ships prepares to commence its patrol, its long-range sensors searching for any ships trying to sneak into their domain.
At Three kilometres long and One kilometre wide the Xektoid dreadnoughts are both feared and awed by all races in the Galactic Coalition.
“Captain, sensors are picking up a strange reading at coordinates 730 by 12 by 9”, says the navigation officer.
“On screen”, replies the captain.
The large screen at the front of the bridge lights up. At first it shows nothing but the blackness of space and the lights of faraway stars.
Then slowly what looks like a black cloud starts forming, growing bigger and bigger ever second, till the cloud is so big it blots out the stars.
Then suddenly the cloud vanishes, and in its place hangs a Forty kilometres long, Seven kilometre wide gigantic ship.
The Xektoid crew could see hundreds of weapon turrets, each a staggering Fifty metres in diameter, all look powerful enough to shatter a planet.
Their own ship has one main weapon at only Ten metres in diameter, and it is until now the largest and most powerful ship weapon in existence.
Then after almost a standard minute another black cloud envelopes the vessel, before both the cloud and the ship vanish.
It was almost Five minutes later that the crew of the dreadnought emerges from their shock at the gigantic ship.
“What in the Ancestors was that?” asks the captain.
"I don't know", answers his XO, "But hopefully that's the last we see it.
Unfortunately for them, Just Three months later, as they were over the world housing the leaders of the Galactic Coalition.
A black cloud starts forming Infront of them.
“By the Ancestors, Not again” says the captain.
