Van seems genuinely surprised. Maybe even remorseful, if only because they think the act has earned them his disapproval. Canderous rolls his eyes. “I don't, particularly, but I like to know when I'm abetting murder.”
Van looks at the man in the dirt. “I don't think he's dead.”
“He's dead,” Canderous says flatly.
